Defense is simply taking away what the offensive player wants to do. If as in this case the offensive player has more skill than the average player he'll win. The NBA as it is now the offense is superior to defense. I used to play great D and pissed off many scorers because I'd over play their strong hand.If they could go either way anticipation might get under their skin.

Too bad defensive stats weren't kept back then. I would be interested to see how many blocked shots a game Russell had.

Oscar robertson was a general's general. He directed everything in the cincy offense. This is great stuff.

I guess the Celtics were a real nemesis to both the Royals and the Hawks. If it wasn't for Boston, the championship history of Sacramento and Atlanta wouldn't look so pitiful for their franchise ages.
