@ Volleyballgurl- you also have to keep in mind that they are singing a country song. Because of the style, they're vowels should be flatter. Listen to some of their other songs before making that kind of judgment.

One of Straight No Chasers gifts is being able to match the style of whatever they're singing. They can pull of pop, classical, country, whatever you ask them to- and yes, their vowels match whatever style they're going for.

how many songs can an a capella group memorize (if it's in the 1st semester)? a choir group learns about 3 or 4 pieces per their concerts, but i'm guessing an acapella group can do more than that?

i gota say that striaght no chaser is still way better. plus straight no chaser uses one on a mike, hullaballoos sing with overhead mikes and a few solo mikes. and they have a different style of singing too... diff style diff sound, but Straight No Chaser is still the bomb! boo yaa

Of course this isn't the "original" group of guys. It's a group from Indiana University. As such, guys graduate and others join when there are openings. This particular group has great sound and blend, even as depicted by this impromtu performance.

k i'm a freshman in the group NOW and i'd like it to be known that yes the 1996 original group was incredible. they are great guys. they set the precedent for all the groups to follow. without them, the group now would not exist, i would not have the awesome opportunity to sing in SNC..with that said, id rather it be said to congratulate the original group for the amazing road the set for the following groups instead of trying to compare and bash our group now..sorry, just my opinion
