  • Lol This is interesting because I live in Minnesota

  • I love this guy. I love his style of presenting games: Right to the point. I really, really like this videos. Thank you very much for them! I will buy some stuff just for your presentation.

  • What about reviewing an oldie like Planescape? Or Monte Cook's city setting Ptolus?

Sounds cool. I like WoD's take on vampires where their powers are related to a curse upon sinners from God. Much more flavorful to me in its' morality (vampires innately tending towards evil and the horror of bodily corruption from wickedness) than a lot of Anne Rice, Buffy, Twillight watered-down vampire takes. Where they're more people than monsters.

  • Why in the world would anyone want to play a demon in this game? Monte Cook took a crap on the demons in this version!

  • WoD is a great system to use for other thing's like. A good D20 Serenity game can be run off it. Ect. My freand also ran a good AvP game with the system.

  • I've begun working on my own WoD mortals game, and this does a lot of what I had planned to do. Not the same storyline, but taking only the basic WoD concepts, and spinning my own world from it. I was intending on creating my own version of the supernatural elements. This is great inspiration!

  • I like this version of WoD it´s.... Intressting!

  • I have this book, and would still like to play it sometime. I like it since you can even put in books from other D20 system.

  • my friend got this a couple days ago, and i have one word for it.....

    FUUUUUUUUUUNNN!!!!!!!!!!!111oneoneone

  • I didn't know that there were White Wolf vampires descended from Judas. In oWoD the western ones are all from Caine. Dunno about the new.

  • So it's WoD d20? Interesting...

  • I want to order this great looking system/game!

what other books I need in order to run a campaign properly?? - maybe some sort of a d20 related book?

  • MCWOD is entirely self-contained ... you don't need any other books.

  • They don't have any rules for Changeling:The Lost. :(

  • I just ordered this book yesterday. Should get it in the mail tomorrow. Can't wait. Mostly reading it for ideas not to be played though.

  • I actually just bought this book and used it as a background setting. Just read up on the world and kept the Storytelling System

  • NWoD and Mage: The Awakening when they first came out. I read up to the part in the latter when they started talking about Atlantian Arcana, closed the book, put it on my shelf, and haven't touched it since. I loved 3rd ed Mage, but this new stuff is crappy.

  • my Monte Cook's World of Darkness went in the trash. i hated it with a passion.

  • Too bad. I would have paid you to ship it to me. It sounds great.

  • damn...... if i would have known when it came out. I love all the other Wod but this didnt do it for me. Just picked up Changing Breeds for NWOD and love it. could defently run a game of that.

  • It's fun! End of discussion. Well I miss "The Masquerade" and I ask myself why White Wolf screwed up the whole interesting clan system full of historical background. The new "Requiem" is trash. This one shows a new great idea maybe not for WoD Fans but for people who want to try something new.

  • I agree. The new WoD does little for me. I'm much more ticked off about how they destroyed Changeling. It was the slightly brighter World of Darkness. Now it's Lovecraft.

  • I think that Storytelling is better than D20 in that Storytelling focuses more than just combat, it more about fearing what you don't know no matter how powerful you really are. D20 is much more 'stereotypical' character archetypes than characters based on the players autonomical concept

  • This setting would make a great film if handeled correctly.

  • I second your opinion, Mr. Wiegel. I've never been a big fan of d20 games, but Monte Cook's World of Darkness is good enough that it's managed to minimize, if not completely overcome, my dislike for it. The setting is so chock full of adventure and storytelling opportunities it's unbelievable. It's a shame many people won't give it the time of day because it is a d20 game...

  • Thank you for the review Mr. Wiegle. I was going to buy this book but after your review I now know more of what this book is about, and I relize it's just not for me.

  • Thanks!

  • hahahaha!

  • Honestly, this review was a relif for me, this game is not actually a WoDlike, but more post-apoclyptic. Maybe i play this game or i start storytelling it.

  • i've got a silly question... what kinda game is this? i mean is it a board game or do u play it on a console?

  • It is a pen&paper Roleplaying Game. Google it.

  • Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. I think you can get the same level of story telling and adventure from Spycraft D20 or Gurps with all the stops pulled as cinnematic unisystem. A game is whatever the GM and the players want to make it.

  • A 'World Of Darkness' special would problably be cool, then.

  • Arrrgh.

I'm sorry, Kurt, but I currently hate the current World of Darkness, and I hated the idea of Monte Cook getting his mitts on anything related to the World Of Darkness. I found that more often times than not, players familiar with Cook's Dungeons and Dragons would turn World of Darkness games into mindless hack n slash fests and the true art of roleplaying and storytelling would just be killed.

  • Sorry you disagree. I rather liked the game. To paraphrase: Hack and slash is a problem with the players rather than the game.

  • Well, maybe I'll take a look at it.

  • Its worth a go. I think it would make a good, if crunchy, adaptation to the Dresden Files

  • Actually, would you ever review some of the Old World of Darkness stuff? There are some pretty rabid fans of it out there (me included)

  • Nice review

  • Kurt have you ran this one? I've looked at it and would like to hear some talk about it being ran.

  • WOD judgment...which is better the old or new version?

I kinda like the idea of a foothold situation...what are the mundanes doing about all this?

  • Old (pre-armageddon/Gehenna/Ascention) WoD, New WoD or McWoD? I like most of Old Wod, then McWod then the new. But they all have merits.
