Great video. Question for you though: You look like a fairly large man...I'm 6'5" and about 240lbs...have you spent the night in any of these and if so did you find it comfortable and roomy enough? I'm very interested in trying out hammock camping, but a little concerned with it due to my size/length, etc.

@bmelville Good question, I like the hammock in this video. However I understand the issue with us larger guys. If you want lots of room I would go for a double hammock. Grand Trunk also makes one of those.

I always see the P38 mentioned in a LOT of survival videos--what use is it, really? You said as a fire striker, but you can always use your knife. There's no cans to open out there, are there? :)

those tiny biners make it easy to attach quickly.. but they may give out under the stress of your weight because they aren't made for bearing a load.. just a thought

I have been using a fox jungle hammock for the last three years and it as long as I have a thermarest or some kind of mat under my bag I was always pretty warm. I think that is the biggest key, keeping the chill out from under you.

I like those myself. i was planning on doing that very soon. I also have some MREs on the way that should be a decent review as well. Some of the stuff i am going to take it for a weekend and use it on camera. The problem is getting the time to get all this stuff done.

my hammock is a piece of canvas suspended by 1/4 sisel ripe tied by nail knots @ the corners.
