  • You can never replace the older materials but the re-recording is cool :)

  • Because of lamb of god I'm here, so stfu guys. Them using testaments riff is basically like advertising their band.. And everyone knows they stole it so it's not making Log look better or anything. Theyre both sick so w/e

  • Wow! You can see where lamb of god got their style from this is fucken sick!

  • TESTAMENT!!!!! \m/

  • Lamb of God was inspired by Testament. Where do you think they got their play style and guitar tone?

Metallica stole most of their early solos from Dave Mustaine's old notes, from what I remember.

If it weren't for these original bands and stolen ideas, we wouldn't have any good music.

Ah yeah - almost forgot, everybody's stealing their music theory from the Catholic Church, which assisted in musical development during the middle ages. :P

  • I like this version better than the other ones

  • WTF THEY ST---LAMB OF WHAT? LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

people need to realize this song is way older than any kind of shit Lamb of God has puked...This is a re-recording idiots. If much Lamb of God stole from it.

  • who the fuck cares if the riffs sound the same, they're 2 awesome bands who happen to have a similar soundin riff....who actually fucking cares?

  • God, the original sounds so much better. I want to erase this album from existence. Why mess with perfection

  • bitch please.....testament was playing this song when lamb of god were pissing in their diapers

  • Comment removed

  • this song 1988!!!

  • thrash against all shitheads

  • i like LOG better

  • @seanE1188 lamb of god fucking sucks cock.

  • i asked mark on twitter abt dis, he said it was completely unintentional.

  • Lol...dummies...Mark Morton and Will Adler openly admit to "playing" respects to Testament with that riff....they didn't steal it, they wrote it in out of respect. GTFO n00bz.

  • @he11cat06 So damn true. Hate it when people say that..

  • Lamb sucking jizz can suck my balls as well

  • Comment removed

  • stfu finding reasons... Lamb of god ripped off this song riff so face it.

  • anyone that hates on LoG is a fucking dumb ass redneck. those guys are a bunch of talented and creative motherfuckers, and they rule modern metal with an iron fist.

  • @AP93Playa i agree. but uh dont hate on rednecks lol. however if you like testament like i do then you should check out some of the modern thrash bands too.

  • @AP93Playa mastodon kicks ass too.

  • Comment removed

  • Log never stole the damn riff, alex skolnick help Log with the whole ashes of the wake album, now stfu

  • lamb of shit will never make anything half as good as the legacy

    or this song

  • its sad cuzz they sound now issss waaaay better and hevey but the way they used to sound is cool cuzz back then it sounds like thrash metel

  • Their new stuff DOES NOT compare.

  • Lamb of god sucks hairy balls >.>

  • @dumbang3l Nope. Anyone who doesn't like LoG is a fucking poser bitch who needs to get their faggot ass beat down. They're one of the few modern bands that are actually good.

  • @vio2112 True

  • @vio2112 haha u just burned cuz u know log is gay like you :D

  • Lamb of God keeps metal going these days, as Pantera did in the 90s, and the thrashers did in the eighties. The riff does sound similar, I was unaware that testament played in drop D 0_O. Lamb of God has really talented musicians, and to say they are garbage, directly falls right back on you and your big fucking mouth. LOG's shit is fucking tough to play. They ain't garbage. Jesus, what do you think the reg metal folks were saying about your beloved thrash metal in the 80's? Same. shit.

  • @XIPH0S707 They don't play in Drop D....you know you can play that riff in more than one tuning right?

  • @ArpeggioRelento you need to learn how to detect sarcasm

  • all you guys are saying LOG stole this song...what LOG song are you refering to? unless you can give me an example, i disagree.

  • @lennythecow123 They're referring to the LoG song "Laid to Rest." But what's ironic about all these "rip off" complaints is that Mr. Alex Skolnick actually played guitar on that same album!

  • Lamb of God is nothing more than a bunch of recycled Testament and Pantera riffs. Lamb of God is garbage and the only people that really seem to like lamb of god are toothless white trash people that stink and are missing teeth.

  • @metalhealth88 Hahahaha, so true, Lamb of God fucking suck

  • Lamb of God Stole it. period.

  • sounds like laid to rest :D i love it

  • Youre feeling intellectuel now? i never feel like badass, but im fucking sure that LOG didnt steal this riff. Dont start complaing at facts.

  • log stole this riff, behemoth stole from anthrax, dimmu borgir stole from extol

    who fucking cares

  • @Metalscavenger log didnt stole, there is difference if you cant hear it you dumb fuck go fuck your grandmother

  • @Nu1ja if you don't have the insight yourself, then i might as well tell you that my comment was not supposed to be taken seriously

i hope you feel badass now by implying that i partake in incest with the least attractive person in my family

  • @Nu1ja

How is a 12 year old allowed to listen to metal? Specially when your mommy thinks it is satanic?

Go listen to Godsmack and Nickelback so you can go to those videos and say how "badass" they are.

BTW, Lamb of God completely stole this riff, you fucking idiot, don't you have ears or is it too hard to hear when your head is up your own ass?

  • @leonel1993 Where the fuck you ripped out 12 years old? im 15 you idiot, and i have listen metal for 7 years my mom doesnt care a shit what i listen to or wear.

We can argue as long as you want but its not completely the same riff. Some of notes are played lower or higher.

  • @leonel1993 LoG didn't necessarily copy, but they were heavy influenced be testament

  • @leonel1993 Godsmack are actually okay, they are interesting people and are old school metal heads and shit, they pt on a hell of a show, Nickleback can go die in a hole. But Godsmack got me into metal in general so in my opinion their good, but man, Testament FTW :D:D:D

  • @leonel1993 LOG didn't steal this riff alex skolvick wrote a song with LOG so LOG did a TRIBUTE to Testament get ya"lls facts straight before you talk shit also LOG kicks ass and obviously alex thinks so too

  • Holy shit this reminds me of Laid To Rest from Lamb of God. Lamb of God is way better in my opinion.

  • Fuck u and your new school bullshit!

Lamb of God reminds of Testament, this came originally out in '88.

And this is way better, pure thrash!

  • @Ebastine Chill man, it's just my opinion.

  • @StephanSteijger

I completely disagree, but you are completely entitled to your opinion.

  • saw them play this last thursday with degameth. i mean megadeth.

    win.

  • Anvil is beast

  • Lamb of god = Fuckin'awesome!

    Testament = Fuckin' awesome!

Who the fuck cares if they 'stole' the riff!!!

Just keep it fucking metal! that's all I care about.

  • @jamesrocks4eva Lamb of god is shit

  • @liveShit You're shit.

  • @jamesrocks4eva no, you're shit and so is lamb of god

  • @jamesrocks4eva ...and thats hoe creativity dies

  • @ksrthrash Almost every band releases a cover song (at least once in their career), please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think LOG have yet. This can be their 'cover song'?

  • do any of you numb nuts know most all metal riffs were robbed from anvil!!!!!!!!!

  • can everybody shut the fuck up about whether lamb of god stole the riff or not? IN-TO THE PIT!!!!! \m/

  • @ifyousmell123 Fuck yes man.

The only smart comment on this page.

L.O.G are influenced by Testament. And its not note for note so technically its not stealing.

  • No, LOG did not steal this riff, on account of LOG is better than bad, its good.

  • wow

those first seconds sounded a lot like lamb of god

  • because log stole that riff

  • actually i took the time to analize the notes and lamb of god does rip on the opening of this song. this song was originally done in standard tuning the droped down a step in this version. but lamb of god used drop d tuning for this song so the notes for the laid to rest and the droped version of this song are pretty much the same.

  • any one else besides me notice that lamb of god rips on the opening riff of this song?

  • yeah dude it sounds a lot like laid to rest by lamb of god

  • yeah i hear you bro it sounds a lot like

laid to rest by lamb of god

of course laid to rest was made after this song though.....

  • This has to be one of the sickest riffs of all time

  • Lamb of god OR testament, wtf is this?

  • Lamb Of God stole the riff?

  • nope they made it better

  • your a retard

  • \m/ yea!! n fuck y'all!!

  • i saw this guys with judas priest, maaaan it was awesomeeee thrash 'till death

  • Alex Skolnick played a solo on the album with laid to rest on it (ashes of the wake). he would have said something if he thought it was a rip off

  • @billyhanna420 Most musicians would flattered if a band used a riff in a song that sounded fairly close to something they've done. Either way you look at it, there's only so many notes on a fretboard, no matter what tuning you play in, so you're bound to play something similar to something else at some point in time.

  • Lamb of God came up with the riff, but then they realised that Testament already had it so LOG just asked to use it.

  • dickhead, they didnt just come up with it they knew testament had it

  • @stevepwn

    Fine, you little fuck.

Don't need to call me a dick head.

    Fucking twat.

  • Testament is the original creator of the riff... Testament has had this song since 1988 off "The New Order" album. The version you're hearing now is from 2001. So no, Lamb of Shit didn't come up with this riff.

  • @metallicadrum

I didn't say that they made this riff.

I said that Lamb of God came up with the Laid to Rest riff, but then found out that Testament had a riff that was incredibly similar, so they asked Testament if they could use it.

Another arrogant YouTube user (stevepwn) denied my story of how Laid to Rest was created, but I believe that I'm correct.

  • listen ok metallicadrum lamb of god isnt shit...doesnt matter this coming from a metallica fan, a Lars ulrich fan on top of that.....your opinion is pretty much invalid....lamb of god and testament rule.........hopefuly gunna see these guys with slayer and megadeth if canadian carnage isnt canceled =P

  • @dbzsony They didnt need to ask for shit.

    Its not the same riff.

    Just sounds familiar.

  • THRASH

    TILL

    DEATH

  • lamb of god asked to copy this riff....u guys know anything?

  • lamb of god jacked this so badly

  • Comment removed

  • you can add Kittie - My Plague In The Black to that lol

  • Who wouldn't take the riff from this song?

It's immense! Testament and Lamb of god ftw!!

  • Noo, who wouldnt dream of being the CREATOR of this riff. Taking it though is just disgusting

  • Thrash 'Till Death!!!

  • I totally agrree with jaydeath1887 lol....Testament wrote this before Lamb of God wrote Laid To Rest...I still like both bands though. Saw both bands live this year they both kicked ass!!!

  • You can clearly see how Lamb of God's Laid to Rest was inspired by this song. This song first came out in 1988 in Testaments second album The New Order (For those who think that This band rippd off of Lamb of God).

  • intro sounds lamb of goddish because they play this a whole step down when it was originally done in standard pitch. LoG plays drop-d so it sounds similar.

  • Intro sound like a lamb of god

  • you mean lamb of god sounds like this intro

  • right :)

  • intro sounds like laid to rest by

    limb of god

  • you mean that sounds almost laid to rest as into the pit, as it first went into the pit and then left laid to rest

  • well maybe i didnt know

  • first off its lamb of god not limb u fuckup, and secondly lamb of god STOLE this riff, no go back to sleep u 10 year old

  • First off Stevepwn i made a fucking mistake u dumbass

2nd its possible and u kno wat I DNT GIVE A SHIT i didnt say

    OMG st0l3n fr0m lamb 0f god !!!11!!!

i said it sounded like it

oh and 10Years old yeah sure

i wonder whos the 10years old here

get a fucking life instead of reading 4 months old comments...

  • We went to see them in house of Blues in sunset Blvd. Kickass!!!!!!

  • Damn, this song sounds like Iced Earth! SICK!

  • Testament is far better than Iced Earth.

  • It's funny that I didn't leave that comment to argue about which bands are better ;).

  • saw them yesterday in finland. They were pretty damn kicka*s

  • saw these guys again for the second time on monday, was fucking awesome!

and since we were on the barrier, chuck handed me the mic during into the pit...well only for the 'into the pit' part =P

  • I actually prefer the re-recordings on the first strike is deadly album, they give the songs an extra punch. Sounds cool.

  • im not gonna say lamb of god ripped off testament, this song at least, coz i hate that, but they were heavily influenced definately, in a good way

  • Badass guitar riff...

  • literally 1000x heavier than Metallica

  • these are awesome!!!

  • funny that the original song came out like 18 years before laid to rest.

  • Hahaha 1:51 Laid to rest

  • This album came out while the LoG members were swimming around in their father's ballsacks. Okay maybe not that old, LoG is great too

  • lol!

  • I actually dont remember why I lol'd

  • it should be called borrowing riffs anyway. almost every band has done it. in flames has been ripped off countless time.

  • yea atreyu ripped off in flames and made alot of money off it. Those mallcore fags.

  • How the fuck did atreyu rip off in flames. And retard, you think that in flames dont make a lot of money?

  • Listen to "hive" by in flames then right side of the bed by atreyu. Almost identical.Only difference is that artreyus version was shit like all their stuff. Also in flames weren't making that much money then.

  • either or both bands suck atreyu kinda disappeared for some reason have you noticed that.?in flames were good back then but never a fan.atreyu is just mommy-core

  • testament shits on both agreed?

  • lmao that ppl say everytime when they watch this video: ''laid to rest'' shit thats boring get a life

  • laid to rest?

  • If you read Formation of Damnation "special thanks to" from Alex, Chris & Willie of Lamb of God are first, and Lamb of God is also on there

    And...so is Mick Thompson, hmmmm....

  • this fucking band !!! they so fucking awesome !!!

  • woah weird. sounds kinda like lamb of god just recorded the riff backwards

  • no it doesn't LoG took this riff from Testament

  • Lamb Of God asked testament if they could use the riff... So technically they didnt steal it but they should be able to come up with their own riffs

  • Don't talk out of your ass.

  • yearh i know ;) should just be sure :)

  • they sounds very much like Lamb of god´s laid to rest!.

  • Lamb of God ''stole'' this song.

  • are you sure?.

  • Pretty much. Google is your friend.

  • Apparently, it's not stealing when you change the pattern and use completely different lyrics. /shrug

  • i know i swear to god when i first heard it i was like, is this the right song?

  • dude the original version of this song came out in the LATE 80's
