  • I would stress Very strongly that if you Deglove a degues tail (that means pull the tail off! it needs a vet urgently as their will be bone muscle and tissue exposed! The other thing I would stress is that male Degu when they hit adolescence (puberty) can fight, and fight to the death, if theirs blood drawn then separate them straight away! Degues when they feel sleepy will buddy up with another Degu, as soon as they wake up they will start fighting again, So beware!

  • Can anyone help me my degu and bites and I am really nice to it and Idk why it is so mean.

  • /watch?v=H0UEc0cfV0o degu

  • how old of kids

  • They Can't eat apples!!!!!!

  • 1:10 till 1:13 escaped animal in the upper left corner

  • youtube.com/watch?v=mD7KnAvDyT0

    My degu's

  • Loved the way she established the sex by looking down below lol.

  • So its like a cross between a gerbil n a chinchilla????

  • Totally incorect. When she said no fruit it means NO FRUIT not an apple or something. ;/ she's incorrecct with most things.

  • haha, that degu she is holding isnt friendly or tame its scared shitless

  • wow the advice of this lady is totally incorrect, there are many sources of correct information on the internet but this is bad infomation. Never keep your Degus in a Tank as their main cage they will get hot very quick and can get heat stroke, these little creatures can't sweat so it can make them very uncomfortable and even die. Remember these come from the mountains in chile, when get's hot they go deep underground to get cool, a good temp is 20 degrees which is hard to accomplish in a tank.

  • Read my comment from bodem to top. Then it will make more sense... Hehe.

  • A litter around 6 babies is more common. I think its also smart to tell people that 9 out of 10 degu's will not sit so easily on your hand as the one does in the video. You will have to put a lot of time and effort in it, to get them tame. These are non domesticated animals, so this will take time! I think this is a bad example, especially for a channel that claims to know their small animals...

  • To much sugar! These animals don't need the extra vitamin C like rabbits or guineapigs. There is nothing said about fat. These animals can handle fat almost just as bad as sugar. So no nuts or sunflowerseeds or something like it!! They also need their bathing every day. They need to have acces to the sand at least an hour a day to clean their fur. 12 Babies is also not very common. They don't have enough nipples to feed that many babies.

  • A lot of incorrect information. To bad!! Degu is not family of the chinchilla, but of the guineapig. As xxoosonicxxoo already said, there are a lot of speciel degu food these days. Chinchilla food is not okay, becourse it contians fruit and therefor way to much sugar. Any fruit is bad for them. You really have to read the labels of the food you buy, to be sure there is no fruit or melasse in it. Guineapig food often contains apple or something like that.

  • they have degu food which you should feed them instead of a mix of other rodent food and they dont usualy have alot of babys

  • they make so much noise at night! omg, i can't sleep of it!

but they are cute (when they are sleeping)

and when you (axedentaly) pull of the tale skin, the rest of the tale will go white and then very slowly die (the tale, not the degu). But it helps me to see who is who ^^

  • @yoshimannetje

Well, you need to get used to not taking a degus tail. The degus actually will bite the dead tail part and it will not grow back. I don't know if your degu will do so, but most of degus do.
