if they ever do a DVD of all Diana's great TV performances, this MUST be on it, along with her Midnight Special performance of Love Hangover, Chain Reaction at the AMAs and Take Me Highher on David Letterman. She's so subdued, which give the performance a quiet power...and by the second refrain of the verse she's in another place, letting notes linger, playing subtly with the melody and changes...she's really, honestly an impressive singer.

this is a beautiful song and she sounds amazing.. this was recorded back when america started saying she couldn't sing and wasn't a real singer.. ha so glad the rest fothe world didn't fall for that lie.. she is lvoed all over the world everywhere except the usa... it seems though america is starting to embrace her again not that she was waiting around for that to happen.

@whatigot2say Good point! Worldwide people adore her VOICE. What’s wrong with the USA? Racism! She is not the average black singer, so for many blacks she can’t sing for she doesn’t yell nor has a funky soul they expect. She rivaled her white counterparts successfully for the powers that be so no awards & had put up with barriers despite her accomplishment. She is commercial, confident, and elegant so both sides on some level think who does she think she is. America can be very judgmental.
