A good race run by Desert Party to win this. But he was downright disappointing in the 2010 Godolphin Mile as the race favorite. But in fairness, I don't think Desert Party was ever as strong on this tapeta surface at Meydan as he was on the conventional dirt at Nad Al Sheba. He and stablemate, Regal Ransom were both impressive at Nad Al Sheba during the 09' Carnival. I think the injury Desert Party suffered in the 09' Kentucky Derby hurt him. When he came back, he never looked the same, IMO.

Never really saw Desert Party as a 6 furlong sprinter. But he looked awfully good at 6 furlongs in this race. I always thought he was better at 7 to 8 furlongs. But he ran a very disappointing Godolphin Mile as the odds on favorite on Dubai World Cup day. Perhaps Saeed Bin Surror should have raced him in the Golden Shaheen instead of the Godolphin Mile?
