As a Puerto Rican with an M.S. degree in Speech Pathology I know that speech patterns adjust to speaking contexts; how I speak with my comadres is not necessarily how I speak with my boss. I'm very articulate and can speak without a trace of a Nuyorican accent, but as a performer I have observed that audiences enjoy the total entertainment value of my affected speech. It's a part of who I am guys, don't take it so seriously. Latinos need to stand together and stop judging. Thanks for watching.
