I think the best bellydancers are from the Middle-East. Of course Bellydance is an art and everyone can practice it, but the best bellydancers are those, who grow up with the music styles and specific culture of the Middle-East.

to UniqueTush, i don't know the exact reason sadie wasn't in the BDSS, i was shocked to see her in 'las vegas taxi cab confessions' which is on youtube...her behaviour was apalling and pornographic..i think (and hope) the BDSS want to keep sleaze out no matter how talented they are

No, the creator of BDSS Miles Copeland does not want dancers who were represented on other dvds already (except for in the beginning, he called star dancers like Suhaila Salimpour and Tamalyn Dallal to increase audience interest - even Ansuya and Jillina actually were known only locally before he started the troupein 2002 I believe). I guess this is a matter of building one's unique stars, and of costs. Sadie has gotten hyperfamous with

I'm not a big BDSS fan, but they have a new show dvd released and I thought this may be it. But it's really old I realized.

i think the BDSS are okay but none really stand out for me, i mean i like Ansuya but thats just it i dont love her style i just like it

and yes i still dance my passion for the dance grows everyday lool theres not a minute im not dancing???

ya I feel the same. I like watching them because they put on interesting full evening shows. But I do not love their style either, it's very "Vegas"/poppy if that makes sense. Nice entertainment, but not very "deep".

yes i see what you mean, when i first started off i was in love with bellydancers like shakira (i still love) and Didem ect but as ive grown im able to see much more styles, like my fav is Jihan Al Masri and Randa, i think Orit is okay theres others but dont know their names

in regards to my dancing, yes i only dance oriental, i dont have a passion for any other dance like i do with belly dancing!!

ok yeah there may be alot of amazing arab dancers but as we've seen there is alot of amazing american dancers...belly dance is no longer just an arab dance its a global dance. with each country putting its own twist on it =)
