Is it any harder to fly these things compared to normal rc planes? It just looks so cool. I'm thinking of getting one myself when i have a bit more time on my hands. And the price seems reasonable. Just love how you can hear the lawnmower with wings in the background and this flying about as peacefull as it can get. Love it!!
@floriboy17 I got a small one in Singapore for about $50, it flew quite well my kid loved it, have a look in any good toy shop and you should be able to find one in the RC section.
Ok it was very interesting when this took flight, but the truly remarkable part was when Nature itself (her-himself?) began to take umbrage. That means that it not only looks real to us, but to Nature too. Great job on this! Very nice to see this in flight. Thanks
Please check RCgroups.com and look under ornithopters. SEAN KINKADE from Cody WY sell them. They are All hand made. It may takes 3 months or more get one for he is always backed up! I have bought several from him. And yes....THEY SHOULD FLY.... If you don't understand them, they won't.
What a loafer. He did not build this Orni like he lets on. Its built by Sean Kinkade here in the states. Going to modify the wing loading eh? How bouts a new tail design?? BEE ESS
@tomzah1 Glad you wrote this because I was just going to. What cretin acting like he designed this. It looks like a Slow Hawk to me because I have one from the one and only Sean Kinkade. And it flies like a dream.
That is a Kinkade model.. probably a Park Hawk judging by the size. I have a Kinkade Slow Parrot (older, larger model) and these things absolutely love to fly. With the lack of a vertical stabilizer they do tend to have a mind of their own and will often make a circle or two as in this video, all while you are commanding a turn in the opposite direction. I have the exact same reaction from other birds on every flight! Love it!

The flying appearance is an exactly bird.
It seems to become indistinguishable with the real thing when flying high.

This bird cost $300-400 and yet it looks just as good as the " Festo - SmartBird " which money probably can't buy at the moment ...................
