Takayoshi gets my vote here. Better phrasing and his style sounds much more defined. Well, neither of them are that original here, but Gentaro just sounds like any other shredder. Plus, Takayoshi's Fender make Gentaro's Dean look like it belongs in a dump somewhere lol.

Takayoshi has such an awesome tone! Gentaro has a bit too much distortion. Takayoshi won in my opinion, he was a lot less robotic in his playing and has much better phrasing. Gentaro seems like he's using this as an excuse to just shred.

i kind of got the idea that this is a somewhat tricky track to play on top of so the best way to sound good is to stick to the pentatonics, like takayoshi did, but when he started shredding, he went to a regular diatonic scale which made it sound sort of strange. for the most part gentaro was using a diatonic scale and it didn't sound great because the backing track consisted of almost one chord... i dont know. i wasn't really listening to the backing track... both didn't sound very good though.
