  • See how bloody long it took to lay one point to rest about control.

I hate to say it really, but this IS utopian in the sense that they completely avoid the issue of the transition and how we make it to this egalitarian society.

The real world to deal with now is almost completely neglected in this interview.

  • It is a system of solving problems, not a system of government.

  • If, for example you break your eye glasses, you don't take it to a group to vote on what to do with your broken eyewear, you take it to an eye doctor to have them fixxed. Same principle applies to TVP. If the people need a sustainable energy source for their community, they take it to someone to survey the area to find the most abundant resource available to that said area, lets say solar was the best for that area, then production handles producing solar panals. Then the problem is solved.

  • I never knew autonomy is such a hard concept to grasp. It's called collabartion, problems would be presented, by the people. They take a specific problem to someone with experince in that field to solve that problem. No central government (or middle man) is neccessary. How a descision is arrived at, of what problems need to be addressed, is based on the needs of each individual person.

  • Jacque and Roxanne need spokespeople.. it's important. Very important. They seem jaded and rushed, which deters young and closed minds to opening up to them.

  • Exactly what i was thinking whilst watching this. Jacque has so much to say the original questions get lost within the mass of ideas he is trying to explain.

If anyone really wants to know the real way this society would work don't take this interview as the explanation. Do your research.

    Resource Based Economy

    The Venus Project

    The Zeitgeist Movement

    All great places to start

  • I'm watching this and I'm so frustrated. Jacque and Roxanne explain how things work but people need direct answers to understand new ideas. The answer to the question he keeps asking is "needs". Decisions are made by experts for your needs. If there's a need to build a bridge, engineers will build a bridge. If statistics show that people need an hospital near that area, they build it. That's how decisions are made. "We don't make decisions. We arrive at them".

  • Eh Jacque who's in charge??? Blind Ideology is fascist by nature whether its intentional or not. These people are insane. If the money system does collapse, it wont be the venus project that will inspire the masses. It will be a natural evolution of human consciousness that will keep us flowing through space and time not the technical fantasies of manipulative people. Replace a system with another system! Fuck OFF!

  • i been watchin this and this guy doesn't get it !!! whos is in charge or who decide fucking idiot the people is in charge the public the sciencies and the designers that create technology it be better to listen what he is trying to say

  • Jacque Fresco and Roxanne Meadows make me nervous, they never answer a question, they just talk and talk but don't get to the point.

  • @erasmusso Alright ... I'm not of the Venus Project, but what is the question that you'd like to see answered? They always say that the nature (the resources available) will dictate what can or cannot be done. So in ultimate case, who decides? Well, the nature itself. Before anything else visit their website and see the movie "Future by design" maybe that will clear up your questions and you'd be more confident about the project. The project is about making peace of mind not letting you nervous.

  • @jorgeferreira2009 I watched every movie about the venus project and zeitgeist that I found on the internet and I agree with them - to some extent. Jacque almost always talks in parables and he loves to talk about his experiences, and that's ok, his futuristic ideas should be presented in a visual way, but he usually also wanders off talking about things that are hardly related to the initial topic he was discussing. When asked to, I wish he gave clear straight-to-the-point answers like Peter.

  • @jorgeferreira2009 Btw, I'm a member of the Zeitgeist movement and I'm not criticizing his ideas, they're great, I'm just trying to understand them better.

  • @erasmusso TELL ME WHAT PART YOU DIDN'T UNDERSTAND AND I SHALL TO GET TO THE POINT OF IT

  • @KYRIAKARAS Ok, the same question Theo asks: who's in charge? Who decides what and how to do things?

  • @erasmusso AT THE BEGINING OF THE PROJECT EVERY DECISION WILL BE MADE THROUGH SURVEY AND CONCLUDE TO THE BEST TECHNICAL SOLUTION.THEY WILL BE PEOPLE THAT HAVE INVESTED THEIR OWN MONEY FOR A BETTER COMMUNITY FOR THEMSELVES.AT THE END OF THIS LOCAL TO LOCAL PROGRESS,WHEN IT WILL BE GLOBAL THE DECISIONS WILL BE MADE BY A SUPERCOMPUTER.IT WILL GATHER DATA FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD ABOUT THE RESOURCES AND IT WILL DELIVER NECCECITIES WHERE NEEDED.I ALSO HAVE A QUESTION. DO YOU GO TO VOTE AT ELECTIONS?

  • @KYRIAKARAS So at the beginning the wealthy who invested their money will govern and after that a supercomputer will rule humanity??? And what if that supercomputer starts killing people?

    Yes, I vote.

  • @erasmusso THEY WILL GOVERN THEMSELVES CAUSE THEY WILL BE THE ONLY ONES PARTICIPATING.HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ATTACKED BY YOUR CAR-OVEN-TV-PC OR YOUR XBOX? NO,SAME THING WITH THE SUPERCOMPUTER. I AND MANY OTHERS DO NOT VOTE,I DO NOT FEEL THE NEED FOR SOMEONE MAKING DECISIONS FOR ME AND I DO NOT TRUST THAT KIND OF SYSTEM.IF YOU DIDN'T VOTE I WOULD HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF MAKING YOU UNDERTAND THAT.

  • lol....he would have an easier time explaining his ideas to a 5th grader. A 5th grader with a mullet. OMG simple minded people make me mad....but they also make me laugh...just not this moron....he is a dick.....and doesn't even realize how dumb he is.

  • lol....he would have an easier time explaining his ideas to a 5th grader. A 5th grader with a mullet.

  • lol....he would have an easier time explaining his ideas to a 5th grader.

  • Is this reporter really so stupid. Who makes the decisions? The PRINCIPLES of their new system make the diceisions.

  • The new Human children born within the VP should give maintenance to the system that's gonna run the cities.

Clothing & appearance most be optional by self-discretion, no more doctrines against our bodies' natural needs on their time. Censorship creates repressed involuntary perverted Humans.

Everyone to grow food for everyone free.

Everyone to study & optimally use Sensory Deprivation Tanks & Entheogens, to travel, relax & rest together randomly as Human family.

    A friendly unarmed GORT unit.

  • The Venus Project is proposing a perpetually evolving organic society. A society that uses the expertise of those who are not only knowledgeable about a field of expertise; but are passionate enough to apply their knowledge to construct or teach how to construct the machinery, structures, and techniques responsible for the necessities of life.

No one is saying the initial start up will be easy. This will take work. But once the essential automation is in place, we will be free to change anything

  • You have to agree, that Jacque hasn´t answerd "who is in charge " question. And i´m an venus project suporter. You have to think straight and be honest. An simple example would heave been sufficient i feel. Like: You need a car. Who decides how this car should be build? People who now about engines, tiers, suspension and stuff like that. They build the best car they can. If an disagreement apears for example in tire pressure they measure properties of both options and see what would be best.

  • @IntsKLA

Though your English isn't too great, your point is well made. The best that can be made will be made, if a dispute comes up then science will dictate which is better for the people. The environment will dictate the amount of resources available which will dictate the amount of "stuff" that can be built or made.

  • theo chalmers is a disgrace in this interview... zero respect for a man who he could never come close to being like. no class whatsoever

  • There are a million was corporations could easily stop Africa cultivating anything. The point is that Africa has no education structure, or funds to start a project like that. Nationalise??? now your entering politics and the current 'government' wont allow that, otherwise it would have been done years ago. The same with other 3rd world countries. It doesnt matter what the resource is .... the venus project eliminates all possibilities of these occurences

  • There are a few political problems though. Like what about abortion and legalization of marijuana? Who will decide these things.

I'm all for the Venus Project though!

  • always telling his 3-4 standard stories....the arabs, the klu klux klan and so forth...but he just won't answer the leadership question

Who makes the decisions?? you can remove many decisions with the computer but not ALL decisions...he has covered everything well but not that part....

  • @halfcolombian72 yes he did.

he said it simple and clear.

    we dont need decision makers.

cuz the scientists needs to handle the technic, problems solving - not polititions!

  • @stuk90

that means the scientists are the decision makers.

  • @nem700

NO ...... science is the decision maker, not the scientists

  • @terryholding2004

    you look stupid saying that

  • @nem700 lolol I made my self look stupid?????? only a stupid/ignorant person whould say that. The point of the venus project is to develop mankind to a higher state of living... fairly. We cannot do that efficiently unless we know what scientific boundaries there are to cross. Scientists cannot be 'decision makers' when it comes to the whole planets resources as the decision/question is not .......shall we help Africa?. The decision/question should be .......how do we help africa etc?

  • @terryholding2004

scientists are the arbiters of science. they are in control of the procedures. if you follow science, exclusively, your realm will be subject to scientists.

i know a way to help africa. gaddafi was doing it, and now look where he is at. it involves trying to convince the africans to industrialise and manufacture products using their resources instead of shipping their resources away to countries to manufacture shit. if africa does this, they will become wealthy soon enough.

  • @nem700 So if Africa...... as you say manufactures products...... using thier resources and sends these abroad to be sold then they will become wealthy soon enough ???? OH MY GOD lol Can you not see what is wrong with that statement ? The Venus Project is not about creating production lines in 3rd/4th world countries my friend its about educating the human race. Africa was just my for instance. Your missing the point, science is the only true real tangible 'law'.

  • @terryholding2004

you're a fool. i don't care about the venus project. if africa starts to rapidly industrialise and manufacture these products in multi billion pound industries, you will see a huge surge in living standards there. africa already has these resources, all they need to do is manufacture it themselves. they will see huge profits. the venus project is never going to happen without a super collapse all over the world, and without mass life loss.

  • @nem700 If Africa could do this then i am sure they would, being as the country is in massive debt and also suffering from diseae then surely you can understand why this hasnt already happened. I totally agree that a super collapse is the spark needed for something like this to happen. But countries like africa do not have the education and relevant materials to start culminating its resources. 'Mass loss of life' come on do you really think people will start killing each other ......

  • @terryholding2004

africa is a continent. not a country. its disjointed and divided. embroiled in strife, conflict and sectarianism. the place is to volatile to begin industrialisation. things need to simmer down. they would also need the technology and expertise to do this. IMF is crippling them too with the restructuring. most importantly, they have corrupt heads of state. this is why africa hasnt industrialised. with the exception of South Africa,

  • @terryholding2004

if they overcome that, they can industrialise. first things first, they need to stop the barbarianism. the infighting, and get new heads in charge. get the tech, and refuse to pay the IMF. this will open up the floodgates.

i think the venus project is too radical. the abolishment of the monetary system needs to be gradual. and you are going against the principle of private property. this is a recipe for war. so yes, there will be blood loss if you try to impose yourself.

  • .... something that is not only beneficial to them. but also brings about the total empowerment to the human race??????? But the uneducated will probably view this 'revolution' differently and as you say cause 'mass loss of life '

  • also ... you dont care about the venus project ???? then whats the point of trying to debate with someone who is not even open to new ideas. YOU will always be a person who comes up with great ideas but never follows through with tangible solutions. YOU will live out your days comfortable you know what to do... just no way of doing it. Best of luck with that lol

  • @terryholding2004

what is so difficult to understand about that? tell me what you see is wrong with that then. perhaps you're talking about the corporations stopping the africans? no. they don't have that power. if africa went on a mass nationalising spree, nationalising the oil fields, mining districts, and all the other resources like cocoa, they will be loaded. you'd witness something like modern china. gaddafi has been trying to galvanise the africans to do this, but its not there yet.

  • @nem700 @nem700 lolol I made my self look stupid?????? only a stupid/ignorant person whould say that.
