  • see too watch?v=PUw9jwtc4aQ

  • They sound better than ever! How do they do it? I remember trying to play this stuff in my twenties and got tired, amazing. Maybe its time to plug in the Marshall again.

  • f me,lovin this track all my life !!!

  • does anyone have some links to early JP? the lead singer sounds like he'd have been great when he was younger, he's pretty damn good now!

  • @sn0wchyld Yes, take a look at this if you like. The same song 30 years ago

    watch?v=8ZOTyVHB-4c

  • I like the drum intro from the 83 version but thats about it. Scott plays everything like it's second nature to him!!

  • Oh my God That sounds good!

  • I think I live this version better than the album version. The only problem I have with Priest was during the 80's with their guitar tones. I always dug the guitar tones they had during the 70's however.

  • Rob sounds awesome here but sounds strangulated on Painkiller.

  • @llchambers100 I went to the concert they had in houston a month ago and rob sounded better than I heard him sound in years. He fucking nailed painkiller. He was drowning out the guitars instead of the guitars drowning him out like it is with most bands.

  • it's amazing how precise these guys are after all these years, they sound even better somehow, much like old vine! Awesome band!! \m/

  • Yes, some of us are trapped in a bottle.

  • Ma chi sono quei 3 sfigati a cui non piace????? Ma come si può???

  • Who cares that Rob is gay? Does it change the fact that Judas Priest are the best? No, it doesn't so shut the fuck up!

  • Damn youtube, not letting me like more than once!

  • ¿Sera que los que hablan español podrian escribir?....me encanta judas priest...

  • three people hate Rob because he rejected their love. Lol

  • 3 people dont like this. 3 people just failed and now have diabetes

  • Rob is the greatest gay man who ever lived! Heavy Metal Faggot! -PRIEST IS THE GREATEST METAL BAND OF ALL TIME!!!!

  • the best gay singer in the world jajajaja

  • @DreikoRR fuck of troll

  • @TedHardytheEnigma its a joke asshole...

  • @DreikoRR /funny

    moron

  • @DreikoRR funny.dickhead.

  • Just watched the video from 82 of this same song and the tone was so much better back then you could hear everything so crystal clear .I guess the old tube sound will always be the best .

  • if it wasnt for the underground gay "leather" counterculture in England, Halford, and therefore Priest, may never have come together

  • THE BEST

  • Tight!! These guys rock!!!!

  • lol heavy metal + east? :D

  • you can't tell when his scream ends and the guitar solo starts!

  • The legends never dies!

  • I can't understand what is NOT perfect in this song! HALFORD = GOD! FORGET THE IMAGINARY MAN IN THE SKY, THERE IS DIVINITY ON EARTH!!!!!!!!

  • He a professional..Takes better care of his voice now than ever..thats why he can still do this at the age he is..The cocaine took its toll in the late 80's early 90's..he is singing better than ever now..minus the high register which comes naturally because of age...Same with Geoff Tate...They are Pros...

  • priest priest priest !!!!! pecfect shows !!!!!!!

  • Jesus, can we drop the he's the gay shit! It's 2010! If you are a true Priest fan which I became when I was 14, 40 now you can tell Rob was really flamboyant like Freddy Mercury from Queen which is another awesome band. Who care about he's sexual preference, it's the music that counts!!!!

  • This is amazing, I saw the Priest two times and can't wait for the third time! Keep on rockin'!

  • you can tell halfords gettin old. he doesnt use the fast vibrato in his highs anymore. he does something we in the opera business call a "wobble". its when your voice cant sustain the high notes they used to, and instead of a clean, naturall occuring vibrato, you have to force the pitch to change, and it sounds like a slow vibrato, hence the term "wobble"

  • @generosos87 he's still awesome ! =D

  • @generosos87 Dude, he's 60... Many singers who reach that age can't talk, not to mention sing. Rob still sounds awesome, the whole band sounds awesome, for that matter.

  • @0intelligence0.....He actually sounds freaken better I think.

  • @vlou032 I actually agree...I think this is actually a superior performance to the one in 83!

  • @0intelligence0 ...Exactly..listen to Don Dokken...ripping people off everyday...

  • @halford3256 don dokken is just as metal as rob

  • @timothydfrank1991 hahahahahahahahaha

  • @halford3256 Hello? dokken gives fready Kruger nightmares!!!! Robs the metal god, but don freaking rocks too. REPRESENT....kiss of death!!! into the fire??? surely no painkiller but shit

  • also don dokken was on the scorpions record blackout singing back up....and didnt rob cover blackout? yeah he did

  • @timothydfrank1991 ...Halford covered Blackout..Scorpions..Klause Meine....He didnt cover Dream Warriors..lol..for a reason..2 different vocalist..and go watch Kiss of Death from 2011..pick 1..they all suck now..

  • @generosos87 Well said...RJD has done the same..RIP....Tate has as well..thats life..Rob listens to alot of opera and is also so humble to state he has much to learn vocally and is always pushing forward.

  • @generosos87 ---Thanks "We here in opera" it's obviously the age, happens to every one....."we here in opera" sshh, no pues cuidado!..

  • @generosos87 the more you know

  • 3 saps must have missed the like button.

  • Scott Travis, you are my hero.

  • the best metal vocalist ever. The "singers"of today that do nothing but growl and yell could take a lesson from Rob Halford and B

ruce Dickinson about style and technique.

  • @insaneone5150 Luckily there are still great metal singers who carry on the tradition!

  • @insaneone5150 growling takes a lot of talent and control, think before u comment im a death metal "singer"

  • @TheLoke666 well Im glad you put those parentesis marks around "Singer". No offense intended to you or any of todays newer singers but the growling gutteral sound just doesnt compare nor hold up to the style of Halford, Geoff Tate, Bruce Dickinson, Robert Plant, Ronnie James Dio or even Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple and now Black Country Communion. Scott Weiland is a great singer also.

  • @insaneone5150 those quotetation marks were a joke

  • @insaneone5150 growling takes a lot of talent and control, think before u comment im a death metal "singer"

  • HALFORD GAY OR NOT IS THE BEST AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE BEST AND TO ALL THOSE HATERS I THINK YOU SHOULD PICK UP SOME PRIEST TICKETS AND I GAURANTEE THAT WHEN YOU LEAVE THE CONCERT YOUR MIND WILL BE BLOWN

  • Holy Assballs, this is mindblowingly awesome!

  • @laithlaith91 lol, I'm guessing that 91 on your screen name is actually your birth year..

  • @djEvilDude yup =)

  • My Idol! \m/

  • Best Priest drummer Simon Phillips, followed by Les Binks

  • @Amebixfan In my opinion the drummer that best fit with Priest, though, was Dave Holland. He played on all the records during the height of their career. Not the most talented technically, but his groove was great for what Priest was doing at the time. But I gotta admit that Sin After Sin album is awesome and Simon Phillips helped make it so! I love the intro to Starbreaker, and he set the pace for one of (if not) the first speed metal songs, Dissident Aggressor!

  • @jonese67 Yeah Dave was very good as well, excellent fills and groove. Call for the Priest is faster than Dissident Aggressor though

  • @Amebixfan I had to listen again. You are right, sir! But I think Dissident Aggressor 'feels' more like speed metal. Drums are damn good in Call for the Priest too!

  • Halford is a fucking god, i dont care if he's gay... he is my idol :D

  • @jj3tg93 It only makes him better that he's a gay!

  • Im so agree with Wondaful & IcedEarth58703...i grew up with Black Sabbath,Priest,Maiden & Deep Purple and yes they created Metal !!

To all who makes jokes about Halford if he is gay or not...ur silly, what has this to do with music better focus on that!!

  • Everybody knows it was great kick ass bands like Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, and Deep Purple that created metal. Really, Steppenwolf came up with name. "heavy metal thunder," marked the first use of this term in rock music. Bands like Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, GNR moved it forward during and after the invasion of Hair/glam metal. But all credit should go to Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, and Deep Purple. You cant have metal without them

  • We all wish where halford dont we dont lie ...would u sell your sole for it....

  • nobody invented any type of music..it's evolution...influences from the past combined with new thoughts

  • awesome song!!! this is true metal right here!!! priest rules

  • 'SURGING RUSH OF POWER"What FUCKIN LEGENDZZZZ!!

  • riding on your mom

    truemetalhead?

haha...don´t make us laugh...you´re a shame for Metal

haha...look at your channel...no one likes you...poor little fat boy without a real life out of the computer.

  • I'm just speaking the truth. No need to get butthurt poser.

  • ty čuráku vymrdanej, vedet kde bydlíš tak te zabiju,,ZMRDE JEDEN ZKURVENEJ !!!!!!

  • tos posral SRÁČi CHCÍPNEŠ

  • @TheOneTrueMetalHead u better change ur username. priest was a major pioneer of heavy metal. and if ur making gay jokes about halford, i cant consider u a metalhead

  • @TheOneTrueMetalHead btw metallicas first album came out in 1983. Sabbath was 13 years before that. Priest was 1974. Maiden was 1980. All before metallica

  • @TheOneTrueMetalHead I'm sorry, but metal came from Britian. Judas priest was the head of it. Black Sabbath was before Priest but they' were not metal. Priest was at the forefront of everything you call metal today. Five or six years later came Maiden; Metallica fed off of them. Hell, I saw an interview with Lars back in the hair band days when he was wearing an Iron Maiden t-shirt and calling those pussies from Motley Crue "fags". Even Metallica knows who the metal gods are.

  • @TheOneTrueMetalHead Wow.....I just looked at your channel and you are a TOTAL dipshit. You have no idea of what music is.......AND you little 19 year old punk ass; don't even try and tell me!!

  • @TheOneTrueMetalHead Metallica invented metal? Well short of...Actually it was Kirk who first invented it and when he joined Metallica he teached the art to the other three. The rest is history. C'mon everybody knows that

  • @Yiannis2112

    Ha!

  • @Yiannis2112 please tell me this fucking kid is joking!

  • @TanukiGrana I believe he's not joking. I believe he is simply trying to take the piss(successfully to a degree, I'd say). However it's a matter of principle to blast these kind of worthless pricks wherever we find them. Take care of yourself and stay true

  • Comment removed

  • @dime133 Mr Bright probably you didnt get what I was writing about. I wrote exactly what you replied to me but with a sarcastic twist towards the four of Metallica, supposedly inventing heavy metal. runtothemills and TanukiGrana got it, not you though...Oh and I dont need anyone to tell me about Priest or Sabbath and who they are in this thingy called metal. Goodbye

  • @TheOneTrueMetalHead Dude you are an idiot, metal did NOT come from Metallica, they arent even a metal band, they are a trash band and if you were an actual fan of heavy metal, you would know that heavy metal influenced all of the future thrash metal bands, including Metallica

  • @TheOneTrueMetalHead you are really an idiot, trust me, trow yourself out of the first window you find.

  • Glen ALWAYS looks like he is having a ball!

  • love it!! wish they still played gibson/fender!!

  • I agree Scott Travis is such a great drummer. Imo Holland wasnt even in the same league .

  • No, that's Scott Travis, Dave Holland is in jail for trying to rape a kid in a wheelchair during a drum lesson. Scott's style is a lot more like Les Binks' from the Killing Machine era.

  • Scott is there best drummer ever!! Scott is amazing!!

  • I know, when I heard the drum intro to Painkiller, I immediately though of Exciter.

  • Greatest Metal Ever !!!!!

  • Your an Asshole.

  • I bet Joseph smokes Alice's plastic cock! Why ya gotta go there!?!?! REALLY??????

  • I bet that was one FUCKING LOUD ROCKIN show. I wish I was there.

  • to all those Fuckers hating on rob for being gay...FUCK ALL OF U...he can sing way better than any of u douchebags can even try..shove that down ur throat and swallow it knowing a gay man can sing 5000000000 x better than u MORONIC DINOSAUR COCKSUCKING PIECES OF SHIT

  • is that the same drummer? hair looks the same but the moustache is missing.

  • its scott travis...better than the mustache drummer....lol

  • @littlegoobie he never had moustache.the other drummer dave holland had

  • To all folks hwo talk's bad... look in yor bed and maibi you find

  • fuck you all hating bitches. at least rob can fuck whoever he wishes - ladies and dudes and you weak fuckers? you are sitting here on youtube because you can't even get laid and must go on redtube. hail judas priest and hail heavy metal !!!

  • @baneranger Im behind all judas priest and robs homosexuality. but you cant argue on youtube,

  • to all those making jokes about rob being gay, they are not funny, that is all.

  • @goingcrasy202 Dude who cares? Dont feed into the sexual topic

  • @goingcrasy202 HALFORD IS NOT GAY!!!!!!!!!

  • @goingcrasy202 srsly dude, why is this even an issue anymore? Homophobia is so 80's. Gay or not, Rob's got more metal in his little finger than 99% of all the straight metal singers out there combined.

  • RIDING ON THE WOOOOOOND!

  • Up the audio Volume and the rest....

    Nothing like judas

  • thats badass

  • That drum fill at 1:10 is just insane! Chills ran down my spine :D

  • uff el sacerdote judas me excita

  • hell yeah!!!!!!!!!

  • Great! A Touch of Evil record. The drum intro is not so tight here though =/ but "Judas Priest - Riding on The Wind (live)" in Wantagh, Jones Beach, NY the drum intro so fucking heavy! And in St. Petersburg Rob sing better! :)

  • Comment removed

  • I agree. Scott is the best drummer Priest ever had. he is so PERFECT !!!! \m/

  • even if sometimes he looks a bit bored =D

  • @baneranger: agree.

  • @baneranger I don't know about that Les binks? Simon Phillips?

  • @baneranger With Les as the second best! Shame he had a bit of a drinking problem. Would've loved to have heard his talent on the great 80's albums instead of that Dave character.

  • They still have it,but is rob straining himself?

  • If you watch the DVD, Rob has to catch his breath after a lot of the screams, so yes he's straining himself. However, what is straining to (55-year old) Rob Halford may well be fatal to a mortal man. I bought the whole show on Amazon, it's well worth it.

  • God damn, Scott Travis is f*cking ripped ...but I guess you would have to be to play songs like Hellrider without breaking your body. I've tried it...it's fun until about three and a half minutes in when your legs start screaming for mercy. What an awesome addition to Priest he is.

  • Scott is such a huge upgrade over Dave Holland its laughable. He is exactly what Priest needed to give them the ability to do more thrash type metal.

  • besides dave raped a cripple lol

  • perfect!!!!!!!!!!

  • THIS SOLO IS THE SHIT!

  • I like Rob halfords mid pitches better than his old school ones, I feel as though Halford has gained power in his regular singing and lost just a little bit in his high range, but he is still metal god for life and none will ever change that, like how Zeus overthrew his father Cronus, Halford overthrew anyone before him and now Metal is his might

  • yeah back in the day he could just about reach a soprano c in full voice which is very hard for a man to do and he came real close to having a 5-6 octave voice back then now he has 4 octaves but not much control in the highs like he used to have. it is a shame but after 40 years rockin the world with amazing vocals you can't be supriesed he lost ti a little but he is the metal god and that will never change

  • Makes your hairs stand on end

  • супер!!!!!!!!!!

  • Long Live Priest!!!!!

Greatest Heavy Metal Band In The World!!

  • awesome

  • riding on the wind is a fucking amazing song jus lk every other priest song!

  • not crazy, he/she is fckng idiot!

Painkiller is best Priest's album ever!

  • so im a fucking idiot cause my opinion is different from yours? wow... i mean... sheesh

  • british steel is da second best

  • are you crazy? Every song off Painkiller is amazing.

  • naah. not to my ear

  • what are you talking about, lokk cockknuckles, painkiller is amazing, don't get me wrong screaming for vegence was amazing aswell, but wtf

  • This is great, Robs voice sounds good but he dont push his voice so much but he got extremely impressing voice left just listen to the last chorus on Hellrider on this tour. like the old days screams thats POWERFUL!, Long live Judas Priest! best band ever!

  • Robs voice sounds surprising good.. Long live METAL GODS! \../

  • awesome!

  • HA! machine gun drums! powerful!

  • Really good performance from Rob, his voice here is powerful.

  • Agree, one of the best ive seen in recent times;p

  • Actually Riding On The Wind is the only song where Rob use this kind of voice... it's f*ckin' cool.

  • you don't think Painkiller and the beginning of All Guns Blazing is at least similar?

  • No. All Guns Blazing maybe... but in PainKiller Halford uses another kind of voice. Ridind On The Wind is unique in vocals.

  • fuck'n awesome , no denying he is still one of best vocalist in metal....judas priest forever!

  • damn his voice sounds good

    at most parts

  • fuck yeahhhhh!!!

  • You would easily be able to tell if it was an octave divider. Because it would make him sound like a chipmunk.

  • yes, i'm riding...riding on the wiiiiiiiiind!!!!!

  • SAME MAN!!!!

  • this live version is so INTENSE!!! U CANNOT DENY METAL GREATNESS!!!

  • Hey, why are they playing it this slow?

  • I love it when Glenn and KK swap lead.
