@mitchconn Music and lyrics are different things, writing one is not harder than the other. You're right, theres more involved in writing a progressive rock song than a hip-hop song, but in the case of rap all, or most, of the effort goes into the lyrics. It takes a lot of talent to write a good rap with clever wordplay, multi-syllable rhymes, etc. that at the same time flows well. Have you ever listened to a hip-hop album? Any mainstream, radio bullshit does not count.
