  • i agreed with their point.

  • Given the challenges Obama is facing, and the apathetic non-response of the prior administration to the beginnings of the crisis, my response is this: while the citizenry should always question authority, and be skeptical of propaganda, our current leader seems genuine in his efforts to restore working Americans financial security. Supporting my view is the availability the administration has made of information concerning his recovery plan. He is adhering to his promise to ensure transparency

  • why do all the comments have to be boring and long???

  • Are you sure you guys know who the leaders of these countries are?

    You got France wrong

Srewed up the reset button with Russia

    Got Iran laughing at us

Has Venezuela calling 0bama an ignoramus

You really think the American people fall for the fiscal responsibility and defict cut in 1/2 from you.

    OMG

  • BlankMee,

    The answer is no.

The 29% of Americans who approved of George Bush who were indifferent to the disgust the world expressed at his presidency, who have turned into the 30% of disapprove of Barack Obama will be just as disappointed by the reaction of the world now.

The world is breathing a huge sigh of relief that sanity has been restored to the White House and that one by one the crises created by the previous occupant are being resolved.

  • about the presidential approval ratings you mentioned:

Gallup- 61% approval, 28% disapproval (only 3% more approval and 1% less disapproval than Bush this time in his first term)

Rasmussen- 35% strongly approve, 30% strongly disapprove, 56% somewhat approve, 43% somewhat disapprove, and 2/3 of those surveyed think taxes will be raised on people making less than $250 K (sounds like people are expecting more campaign promises broken)

  • They're worrying too much. This isn't WWII. We're all on the same side.

This isn't the Civil War. The Civil War is over.

  • why shouldpeople not worry? other campaign promises have already been broken. Oh and just to clarify the polls even more, 71% of those questioned claimed to be liberals

  • The patriotic thing to do in a time of crisis, I think, is to pull together and support the President.

  • Don't EVER try to claim I am not patriotic. Supporting the president is not the same as blindly letting him do whatever he wants to, including controlling private banks, etc. I support the president but do not support the majority of his policies. That in no way is non-patriotic so you need to watch your mouth and what you hint at.

  • If you are sincere that you want to have an influence, then I'm sure you agree with me that the voters are more influential when we speak with one voice.

Voters have been bickering almost as much as they do in Washington. We should be setting a good example.

  • If we all speak in one voice we would only be sending one message which would not be influential at all nor would we be setting a good example because I do not agree with you on these issues so one of us would be giving up on our stance to have one voice. There is very little middle ground that can be agreed upon when the "transparent" administration is pushing things through congress in a day that is loaded with earmarks (which he said he would get rid of) and things of the sort.

  • I've just suddenly lost all faith I had in this man.

You LAUGH at a serious question related to SAVING THE ECONOMY? Excuse me? You LAUGH? What is this, the fifth grade? You're the President of the United States, act like it. When a question like this is presented, give us an answer and a reason. Don't laugh and scoff us. You want to save the economy and make the planet greener but you're not doing anything "green" about it.

"change" my ass. I've lost all faith.

  • You've lost "faith" in a politician? LOL. Why would you ever have faith in a politician to begin with?

  • I think Joe Lieberman is a total fox ;)

  • thanks for laughing at our Response to LEGALIZE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ): two thumbs down for OBAMA

  • Says 'skylight63'.

  • the republican party is the new KKK?

i'm a moderate independent but it's good to know some facts when you post ignorant comments like that:

Democratic West Virginia Senator Robert Byrd was in the KKK and continues to get elected to the Senate. Not only was he in it but he was elected "Exalted Cyclops" by his fellow klansmen. He was a very active member and recruiter for the Klan for 10 years. So I ask you bhunter2k2, who is the new KKK?

  • oh god this guy again

  • Audit the Fed!

  • I'm gonna go back in time and go to all the top sites, and make user accounts as whitehouse. I will sell them for 20$ if anyone wants theme. 100$ for the youtube account.

  • I think most American see him more sort of as a knight.

Or the cavalry riding in just in the nick of time.

    LOL

  • I'm in calc 2 and I have never heard that increasing the amount of money you spend would cut the debt in half. Can someone please explain how that makes any sense to me. (Negative plus negative equals bigger negative)

  • Comment removed

  • What does "Reading helps" have to do with my question about how we could possibly cut our debt in half when we just passed a horrible "stimulus plan" and are making the budget larger than that of all the other presidents in our history combined?

  • countryquarterback,

He's not talking about the debt. He's talking about the deficit.

In any family and in any business and for any individual there comes a moment when it is vital to make an investment in order to turn earning potential into actual earning.

Investing (spending) in order to profit.

This is why a family feeds and educates its children, a business buys equipment, or an individual earns and advanced degree.

Pay no attention to right-wing hate radio.

  • reliableinsider,

yes, but do you not understand that greatly increasing the deficit also greatly increases the national debt?

Our national debt is currently $11 trillion, increasing the deficit only makes that number even bigger.

Another thing, all these jobs we're making...they are short term fixes, giving uneducated people construction jobs and road building, etc., etc. only lasts until those projects are done. When they are completed we will be in the same position we are currently in.

  • . . . except that then the economy won't be flat on its back anymore. It will be up and ready to get back into the ring.

A nation that invests wisely has a healthy economy and has no trouble paying off it's debt as we were doing from 1945 until 1981.

A nation or a corporation that invests stupidly ends up bankrupt.

The reason we ended up bankrupt was that we had eight years of stupid invest strategies from the White House AND from the private sector.

  • You might say, we had an eight-year long "intelligence failure" at the highest levels.

Luckily, the U.S. is under new management. And hopefully AIG and Citigroup will be soon, too.

  • Please tell me your not one of the idiots who thinks these banks need to be under the control of the treasury department. Geithner has already proven himself to be completely incompetent and a taxcheat.

  • you're*

  • sounds like somebody still thinks like a small child

  • LOSERS

  • Damn this Press Briefing is dope!

  • Gibbs looks, sounds and acts like a retard....this guy should have been offended by Barry's "special olympics" comment

  • What the hell is the matter with you people? Quit wasting time and effort on Rush Limbaugh, he is not the problem you were sent there to fix. The guy's a radio talk show host, for Pete's sake. You got bigger fish to fry, so get after it.

  • lol... i cant stop thinking about the ONION's parody of this with the apocalyps script =D

  • Thanks for the link

  • my pleasure

  • 50 minutes? Are you kidding me? DO you think people actually watch them, unless of course they are students and they have been assigned to.

  • I have watched every single one.

They are informative as well as fun.

Getting the news as close to the source as possible is a good thing.

Don't assume that nobody else is interested just because you are not.

Right now there are around 500 views and it has only been around 8 hours.

Pretty good for a non-highprofile press conference I'd say.

  • ugh ugh ugh ugh . ugh ugh my english teacher would obliterate this man. Thank you Mrs. Houston for teaching me how to speak better than this man.

  • On the other hand, does your english teacher have to worry about every single word being analyzed by hundreds of thousands of newspapers and all over global television?

Would surprise me if the answer was yes.

Under such circumstances it is very understandable in my opinion that you might have to backtrack sometimes to make a more precise statement in the end.

  • Hypnotism wears off very quickly when the STATUS QUO does not change

  • yea i agree. he does that umm thing every other word and he reads all the text like a book. he should know more before going out on stage like that..

  • lol your the only people who can get a 50 minuite video on youtube

  • i was saying that too. the original rule is that you had to have a screen name that was made no later than early 2006. now i see that whitehouse has it. i want it. this is bull shit.

  • LOVE IT

  • nice

  • Hey Obama!

What's a "Moderate Muslim" and what is a "Moderate Taliban" and what is a moderate rabid dog?

  • He's not Obama. :/

  • imavoid:

WOW really ? How do you know ? Lighting ? Or the tie gave it away ? Who knew !

  • A moderate Muslim is a father or mother who has never been part of the government or the army and who hates the harshest forms of Sharia law and who simply wants the right to send his or her children to school safely and to go to work to earn enough to provide his or her family with food and shelter like any parent.

A moderate is someone who hates war and who yearns for peace and simply wants everything to go back to normal.

There are moderates and extremists in every country on earth.

  • Reliable:

Really so do they condemn ANY of the Vile Acts of Muhammed ?

Sounds like to me they cannot even be a Muslim by your description and definition of what a "Moderate" Muslim is or should be : Sounds more like a Apostate !

  • What about all the vile acts committed by all the other people living during the Middle Ages?

It was a pretty dark time.

More immediately relevnt to people's lives and to the goal of Muslims, Jews, and Christians living together peacefully are the vile acts committed by George Bush and Dick Cheney?

And Reagan's support for the Mujahideen and for Saddam Hussein?

And Jimmy Carter's support for the Shah of Iran?

And Eisenhower's NON-support of Iran when it was a liberal democracy in 1953?

  • Reliable:

WOW have you seen any news in the past 1400 years? Does Islam change?

Do you call this a "Good" Muslim Act or a Vile Muslim Act?

Muhammad ordered his men to make a victim's death as slow and agonizing as possible. In one case, Muhammad's men literally pulled apart the body of an elderly woman named Umm Qirfa by tying her limbs to camels then sent in opposite directions (Ibn Ishaq 980).

    THEN OR NOW ?
