Don,t worry Michael, we the people are fully aware that our system is the best in the world and will fight tooth and nail to keep it. NHS rules from "cradle to grave" WE dont want any other system believe me, we cannot and will not give this up.

of course everyone knows there are jackbooted guards in the corridors of NHS hospitals who shoot you if you dont comply with the strict rules ...its a 'well known 'fact'...
I understand the case for keeping the NHS in public hands and I identify with the social left of the political spectrum but as long as the NHS remains free at the point of use and is paid for through tax, then what would be wrong with privatisation? the health bill will keep these key points of the NHS but help it to become more efficient and effective. I hate to agree with the tories but the health bill makes sense.
@DClarkeUK Because the level of care degrades, fewer people to look after patients, cheaper drugs, less time spent with medical staff so that more people can see fewer doctors. The aim shifts from providing the appropriate care to the cheapest care in order to maximise profit. In a nutshell money becomes more important than the patients.
@MrVampireBill I had the concerns that you have but I wrote to my MP and he confirmed that the bill lays out that care is given based on quality and not on price. although price is bound to have some element in private busness but on the other hand the nhs is always worried about cost. the main element i reject to though is giving GP the power to control budgets which would take the doctors away from health care, the nhs needs reform and the bill offers a way of improving it.
@DClarkeUK the promises of an MP really mean nothing, things change which make his promise irrelevant and you usually find that these sweeping changes are done with small minor changes and then when you look at the end result compared to the starting point the 2 are unrecognisable. The GP controlling the budget I agree with, they are doctors not accountants. I work for a private company who deals with the NHS and see daily the dangers of privatisation (FYI we do not offer care, we supply IT kit)
@DClarkeUK You also wrote to your MP? Guessing your MP is a Tory then and I know I'm correct. You expect him to tell the truth to you? Then your more gullible than I initially thought.
@DClarkeUK no it makes no sense at all because its duty is not to patients but to shareholders and directors..there would be cuts in services in order to make a buck..and it wont be challenged on its operations for fear of losing share price value,,,the culture changes when you go public service to private practice..remember the railways went private and then came railway disasters..due to cuts in maintenance..
@DClarkeUK How can private and public at the same time work? I my doctor for free but I have to pay the assistant nurse? Private companies put small amounts of money in and take large amounts of money out. Right now, if you're suspected of having cancer you get seen within 2 weeks by a doctor and have tests all in one day, and have the result by the end of the week. With the reform, expect that to take over a month. Why bother saying you hate to agree with Tories when you clearly are one?
The privatized system is coming, unfortunately at the moment the British Public are caught up in a media campaign of "hate the ill sick unemployed and disabled." It has recently been said that studies show right wingers like to hide behind ignorance because they find it very difficult to think for themselves, so until it hits them I fear the NHS and welfare are coming to an end.
I think you have been given wrong information. In NHS they use statistics to show patients are getting advice from medical professional but the people who offer advice and treatment are not medically trained doctors but nurses and receptionist. I have conducted a study to find out why patients consult doctors after I saw your documentary Sicko. The result was shocking but the way some of the patients were treated was more shocking. Please watch my video and think!!
I am struggling to bring back the lost human face of medicine by breaking the barrier between patient and doctors by politicians and managers. These people in power have taken control of medical profession by creating a barrier between patient and their doctors. They are using guidelines and rewarding doctors for meticulously following the protocol that encourage prescriptions, investigations and treatments that may not be necessary.
I just read today the NHS spends 23 million a year on hospital translators WHAT THE FUCK this is a JOKE , they cant even pay there staff a decent pay when working the xmas holidays or weekends, they should be spending the money on new equipment such as beds and drip stands not spending it on fucking foreigners who cant speak English!!!! if they cant speak English they shouldn't be fuckin be living here so I say fuck the NHS and its bosses
Thank you for your message Micheal. We need all the help we can get.
A brilliant new song is getting about today .... "A song for Lansley and his pals" it tells us what will happen if we don't stand against the new reforms. All of you who value the NHS please listen to it on YouTube and pass it on.
i think we should get more indian doctors. They are efficient and will get the work done for half the amount of money. the only thing they have to overcome is the language barrier
@MrRobertJameson The NHS is evil? Educate yourself, man! Results of the Commonwealth Fund 'Mirror Mirror on the Wall' report, 2010, which examined seven First World healthcare systems. Overall rankings:
@MrRobertJameson According to the New Statesman, Labour would have won majorities in 1997, 2001 and 2005 without Scotland.
Blair modernised Labour in order to make it electable, yes; he changed Clause IV.
But in doing so, Blair destroyed the Conservatives' position too. The modern Conservative Party has been pulled farther to the left, arguably, than the Labour Party was to the right after Thatcher.
On PMQs, even the Tories are yelling about protecting low-income families.
Ed Miliband will never win an election full stop. He is an abysmal leader.
The result of the next election will be a mystery; the Tories have failed to create any substantial economic growth (and cutting services is clearly the wrong way to go about it), yet the LibDems are inevitably going to be massacred, as we saw in Scotland (where they don't even have tuition fees!)
I cannot, however, see the Tories getting a majority.
The statistics show clearly that Scotland has paid it's own way in every aspect of it's devolved services. The media myth that English taxes are paying for Scottish prescriptions, tuition fees etc has been disproven time and time again.
"...if the London commentariat took the time to examine the figures a little more closely, they would discover what a large number people north of the border already know: not only does Scotland more than pay its way in the Union, but its overall fiscal position would actually be stronger as a fully sovereign nation..."
@MrRobertJameson It says a lot about a person when they refer to a crappy TV programme rather than listening to the statistics...
From the same article:
"Scots represent 8.4 per cent of the UK's total population, but they generate 9.4 per cent of its annual revenues in tax -- equivalent to £1,000 extra per person."
@MrRobertJameson The Irish matter was pretty much settled with the Good Friday Agreement. The 98% desire for an end to the violence in the Republic of Ireland settled the matter once and for all. Nobody cares and more. Now we have global culture, nation-states are becoming irrelevant and religion in politics is already dead.
The supposedly-resurgent "Real IRA" (actually NOT the real IRA) are a pathetic group who have and will achieve nothing.
@MrRobertJameson And what is your basis for this sweeping and unfounded claim?
IF Scotland leaves the union, nothing will be done in NI without a referendum. And as we saw after the Good Friday Agreement, referendums have a habit of finalising things; it killed the militant Republican movement stone dead.
@MrRobertJameson OK, firstly, I was using the Good Friday referendum as an example as to what will happen; if Northern Ireland VOTES to leave the Union there will very probably be little or no violence - as referendums have a very finalising effect.
Secondly, the UK as a political entity will still exist, minus Scotland.
You haven't a shred of evidence that NI will be given independence immediately. I don't accept for one minute that they willl be "dropped" without a referendum. A referendum that will hopefully prevent violence...
Besides, the Scots should not be forced to vote against independence for the sake of Northern Ireland.
Your argument is gravely flawed, and with no evidence at all.
@MrRobertJameson The government would disagree with you; they want the referendum question to be - "do you want Scotland to leave the United Kingdom?"
Indeed, Salmond's alternative - "do you want Scotland to become an independent nation" has been criticised as a loaded question by a number of professionals.
Scotland leaving the UK will not change the political status; there are, after all, four countries that make up the Union, and you cannot explain to me why NI would leave.
@MrRobertJameson I am not causing anything - I am opposed to Scottish independence.
At any rate, I seriously doubt that Scottish independence would have any immediate repercussions in Ireland. And if they did, the Scots should still not be compelled to vote otherwise; it is right that they should be allowed to vote on this matter.
I wouldn't wish the American health system on anyone, it's why I'd hate to live in America because if you became seriously ill you are truly knackered.
@CaliganVoid Yeah but Canada, France, and Cuba weren't talking about privatising their systems because - they're not stupid!
Since the Conservatives (and Liberal Democrats) have won power and perhaps because of the backlash of rumours of messing with the NHS (or perhaps because the Liberal Democrats had some little sway in the beginning) - they actually increased spending in the NHS. I think more than any previous government.
So... it all ended well in the uh, end lol The NHS lives on! { >.0}
@BLUESGUITARMANIAC WE fought for our money through capitalistic traits in the 19th century whilst the peasent ethoipians still have no wealth to fight over. NHS is like a death factory they dont want you alive they just want to bunk u off quick like NHS employee Harold Shipman
Corporations and banks hypocritically syphoning off the wealth of the taxpayer in the name of 'Free Enterprise' and using that public money to consolidate their own power which they could NEVER achieve on their own...!
Only at the gullability of the victim and the guile of the perpetrator!
I'm not a fan of the high taxes but I get piece of mind knowing innocent people get free healthcare. Couldn't count how many times me or my family and friends have had to use the NHS, all I know is our standard of living would drop, and we aren't well off in the slightest! My own personal opinions anyway, no trolls or WUMs welcome to reply to this comment, only equal viewed or similar points!!!
The NHS makes me proud to be British!! I have a lot of nurses in my family and it has saved my daughters life with heart surgery, helped me walk The Tories who didn't want it in the first place are trying to destroy it and make the sick pay . We must fight it all we can!! I have never voted tory wish those who do live under there evil rules! How vile. someone's poor and sick, who cares unless u got cash....What the hell kind of society is that! It's disgusting and wrong on so many moral levels!!
If you look at the cold hard facts then you will see that the Scandinavian nations are always top of the league when it comes to having the most successful treatment outcomes for the most people. The fact is that America is struggling below much poorer countries when it comes to world rankings for health care..Many Americans have gone bankrupt trying to afford healthcare and many are unhappy with the waste within their system i e my taxes pay for healthcare..not for some ceo to grow rich..
3:19 "so you've always been ahead of the curb, why would you fall back and follow a inhumane system", lol thats just the conservative party in a nutshell, yankophiles.
If they ever did try to privatise the NHS there would be riots on a massive scale never seen before in Blighty , I pretty much do what I'm supposed to do go to work pay taxes toe the line but if they do try to mess with the NHS then that all changes from then on it's war .
@RichardElden Yep the fat fuck got rich off of capitalism and now he hates the very system that keeps him fat as fuck. He is the very definition of a fat cat. I can assure you this socialist fucker has investments in IRA's, CD's, 401k's, Mutual Funds, houses, cars, boats, etc. With the liberal elite, they always think they are above the standards they set for us the "peasants".
Hey Michael, if you feel so guilty about things like capitalism then why don't you hand over your millions to the people? Why? because you are just another fake socialist elite fat fucktard. Its ok for you to make millions but not others right? Because you are above that? You better keep appealing to Euro's because they are drunk with socialism and will listen to your bullshit. Go read some Chomsky or Marx you shit bag
please release a movie on the uk, the ones you did for america are quality and I think you a great guy. Also whats happening with the welfare system in the uk is nasty as well, they breaking it up and targeting the disabled.
it costs the government about £1000 for 1 person to have a scan through the NHS - it costs about £160 for a scan if done privately. Where does the government get the money? - "A system where everybody lives at the expense of everybody else"
@juicyclaws yes taking more than £125bln out of peoples pockets to fund a system that is intrinsically flawed is a fantastic idea. little do you know the only way to fund this is by debasing the currency, which is the fasts way to transfer wealth from the working class and middle class to the richest - keep believing in the illusion that everybody has the right to something for nothing (even though its not nothing) ... that will fix the economy, and entitlement system - good job, finance 101
@juicyclaws yeah its also 8£ a pint in sweden with a 25% VAT and ~50% income tax . Additionally the economic system in sweden is hybrid, the UK doesn't have a balanced budget and believes the Keynesian model of a budget surplus can be offset by monetary expansion. In short the accumulated debt can be devalued by inflating the currency. It's an intrinsically flawed system unless you believe in heavy taxation to compensate, eventho it is more cost efficient to leave it to the individual.
@juicyclaws You are setup for an export economy like Germany is. It doesn't change the fact that your taxes are outrageous and your economy is held back because of it.
@juicyclaws free implies that you are able to choose against competitors, free also implies that you offered something at no cost, free also means that if you may opt-out if you wish. Considering 'your' healthcare doesn't offer any of these features, how on earth can it be considered free? Finally, I chuckled when you said 'our economy is relatively good', relative compared to who? Greece? Italy? - The debt and liabilities dwarf that of those countries, so how is it in anyway 'good'?
@ri0r lol. We are doing fine. Our currency is doing fine and at the moment we are number 1 in the world for new business and innovation. Glad to be a Swede. i dont even know why u respond to something i responded to warpath? maybe you should stop checking out this video to argue xd
@juicyclaws I like how you end all your comments with either some smileyface or 'lol'.... it just further shows your immaturity and ignorance on anything related to economics or monetary policy
@ri0r yes im almost 16 and swedish. and why is that connected to ignorance on anything related to economics or monetary policy. this is ur life, maybe you should stop arguing with a 16 year old and get on your own lvl. i say lol bcuz its pathetic looking down in the comment section and seeing only you arguing with ppl. you win.
@ri0r I feel bad for you bud. Guys like this Moore is hated in the U.S. He is another liberal socialist fat fuck. Western nations that are not setup for export like Germany are hurting in a bad way due to liberal policy. Its shocking how many Euro's claim to be educate yet fail at basic Macro/Micro economics. Money does not come out of thin air and no man has a right to another man's labor without his consent.
@Warpath2198 well said. Though, I enjoy how Moore likes to bash a system that allowed him to accumulate a fortune of $50m (according to Forbes). Last 40 years, society has bred this militaristic consumerist idea that you deserve the right of something for nothing. You deserve something from the government, even tho the government doesn't produce anything, they only take from others using force.
@ri0r Yeah Moore, Bloomberg, Gates, Buffet, Jobs, etc. All millionaires and billionaires. 2 of those guys lived in their garages and slaved to get their billions today and bring you such good products. They have fallen victim to this guilt mentality here and they are also doing what we call "pulling up the ladder". Which is after they gained their fortunes using the evil system they turn around and pull the ladder up so others cannot do the same.
@ri0r Even Warren Buffet the super liberal himself, is battling the govt. because he doesn't believe his company owes the IRS taxes, and he just gave an interview a month ago about how the rich should pay more taxes lol. I wrote him an email at his company and told him "Hey Warren, if you feel so guilty why don't you send some billions my way".
@ri0r Many Euro's don't realize that the U.S. does not let people go without healthcare. That is propaganda and media lies. This nation has medicaid and medicare, hell Bush implemented medicare D expanding the system years ago. By federal law passed in the 80's no person within the U.S. can be denied healthcare. You don't see the BBC reported the millions of legals that grace our emergency rooms taking advantage of this law on a daily basis. That would be against the socialist agenda.
@ri0r I have a friend in New Zealand that cling to some of the class warfare ideals. He called me up the other day asking about the Occupy Wallstreet protests. My response was basically that rich people did not steal the money, you voluntarily gave it to them. Starbucks, McDonalds, Wal-Mart did not get to be billion dollar businesses by pillaging peoples coffers, that jobs is for the U.S. govt.
@Warpath2198 It's just an issue of people unwilling to seize their power as a consumer. If you don't like a bank, then don't deposit your money there. But to attack morality in a business is absurd. Especially when your trying to enforce your own 'morals' on them. More taxes doesn't change this. It just makes people leave the country- I think you'll enjoy this: /watch?v=UGL-Ex1CD1c
Another awful case in Cornwall where Serco (who provide a 'privatised' GP out of hours service) did not diagnose a burst appendix and a 6 year boy old died!
The ConDems are destroying the NHS by stealth,it is a piecemeal and patchwork privatisation..which they deny is privatisation. If they openly declared they were privatising the NHS then there would be greater uproar ,even from some of the muppets who allow themselves to be misinformed by the Daily Mail. The NHS was in the top three effective health systems in the world before Cameron and clegg got into power..Please please resist this destruction of the NHS ,protest,protest..and protest again.
@BLUEHIPPO47 You can either privatize it, or lose it. Its your choice, Americans told you its a bankrupt system. We have already had a govt. ran system in several of our states, all shit ran and bankrupt. Your nation is already at what 92% debt to GDP? Capitalism and socialism are not compatible. Somebody has to pay the bills. The UK had the greatest empire on earth a 100 years ago. Now its withered away to an embarrassment due to socialism.
“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.” - Winston Churchill
It's disgusting to see this vile and hypocritical government, that has no electoral mandate to do any of this, just giving our birthright away like this to the selfish, greedy private sector. Good words, Michael.
micheal moorre dosn't need to worry, nobody outside america. ie those living in europe, canada, south america, asia, australia etc are dumb enough to give up free health service. it's not even talked about so why is he saying support the nhs.
it's unthinkable to the public and politicians alike here in the uk to have to pay for treatment. unthinkable
@jopeon1983 I'll forgive your ignorance because it seems unbelievably rife in this country of ours. Are you not aware that Cameron is in the process of pushing through a bill, (much in the way in America the patriot act was pushed through) to effectively privatise the NHS?? Thats what michael moore is talking about! If not do a little fucking research. Australia and chunks of europe do not have completely free medical care at all btw.
i live in england right and if i got hit by a car i would be taken to a hospital and treated and stabalised then and there. broken arm? 1/2 hour to 2-3 hours max before a doctor
the total cost of my stay in a uk hospital even if it's days month's or weekS
@jopeon1983, I totallly agree with you! Why do our American friends just not SEE this? Oh yeah, they think we are being robbed by paying it out of our taxes for someone else t be treated for said accident victim getting hit by a car...Bullshit, because when we need that care, the money is used for us as well!
@neillpw78 Americans don't see it because you don't know what the fuck you are talking about. Take some Macro Economics courses and while your at it take some Micro as well. Your socialist BBC and UK Guardian garbage media pretends like people in the U.S. are dying in streets. You may want to research Medicaid and Medicare for the lazy fucks I mean "poor" people who refuse to get careers and play Xbox all day.
@neillpw78 Nobody in this nation goes without healthcare period. Don't believe me? Travel here and injure yourself, when they rush you off to the hospital and you don't have money to pay, Uncle Sam will swoop and pick up the tab. People in this nation want to live like shit and suffer zero consequence aka credit so they can go out and buy more worthless shit on credit cards that they don't need and can't afford. While people like me pay for their shit life style that got them sick or hurt.
@neillpw78 No man has a right to another man's labor. There will always be winners and losers, welcome to humanity, The sooner Westerns get that through their thick lazy skulls the sooner they can start climbing out of debt and back into prosperity. Socialism doesn't work, why do you think Russia and China has gone capitalist?
@jopeon1983 Listen up socialist, somebody else paid for that and filthy govt. agency took 75% of that money to give you the 25% of it to pay for your injury. No lunch is free. As for the U.S. nobody goes without healthcare, you may want to learn about medicare, medicaid, and states programs for healthcare. Why do you think illegal immigrants fill our emergency rooms? I will give you a hint, they don't work there.
Generations to come will be critical and angry and the privatisation of NHS services and allowing market forces to determine costs on the open market. Make no mistake about it, once the NHS loses its critical mass of services thats when the private sector will steal billions of taxpayers money to fund the contracts because we will have lost the NHS & could not reinvent it. Michael Moore nails it completely.,
It seems like a bit of a smear. It's still going to be free at point of use. Everyone will still have access. If the private companies can't charge customers then they're dependent on government funding, so the government will have to create a mechanism that pays on results, but with results meaning good quality care of the sick. What the protesters should be doing is ensuring that the funding mechanism is effective to care for the sick, not just wailing that it's the selling-off of NHS...
@ChristopherHeward It will be fee at the point of delivery until such time as the NHS has no critical mass and the private sector are able to dictate what their charges will be, once the NHS structure has gone, its down to market forces to determine the costs and as seen by the big health corp cartels across the world, healthcare is far more expensive as a result, requiring additional funding either from gov or individuals, I suspect the torys will pass that buck onto the patient.
Another thing about corpotations will do is not effectiely treat people, and try and get people treated with long term medicines, possible taken that arent really neede. The konger people stay sick the more money can be made. Hence the prevalance of cancer, which is avoidale through lifestyle, but tis isnt encourard because t will make the pharmaceutical companies less money.
Very True, we should all be concerned. The current NHS is kind of bad for waiting but it's nowhere near as terrible as it would be if it was privatised.
Mr, moore I live in the UK all i can say about the NHS is that it is total bullshit. the labour (left) party, work very hard indeed on presenting it, as the crown jewels of british achievement but the truth is it's the classic example of why government control just doesn't work. and to all you who complain about the reforms - do you even understand how miniscule the changes being proposed are?
The Netherlands do so well because their high all the time :D! And because they make so much money off it that they can afford better healthcare. LEGALIZE WEED. AND DONT SELL THE NHS!!!

@DClarkeUK You also wrote to your MP? Guessing your MP is a Tory then and I know I'm correct. You expect him to tell the truth to you? Then your more gullible than I initially thought.
JohnXSmullen 17 hours ago
@DClarkeUK no it makes no sense at all because its duty is not to patients but to shareholders and directors..there would be cuts in services in order to make a buck..and it wont be challenged on its operations for fear of losing share price value,,,the culture changes when you go public service to private practice..remember the railways went private and then came railway disasters..due to cuts in maintenance..
radicalsystems 1 week ago
@DClarkeUK How can private and public at the same time work? I my doctor for free but I have to pay the assistant nurse? Private companies put small amounts of money in and take large amounts of money out. Right now, if you're suspected of having cancer you get seen within 2 weeks by a doctor and have tests all in one day, and have the result by the end of the week. With the reform, expect that to take over a month. Why bother saying you hate to agree with Tories when you clearly are one?
JohnXSmullen 17 hours ago
The privatized system is coming, unfortunately at the moment the British Public are caught up in a media campaign of "hate the ill sick unemployed and disabled." It has recently been said that studies show right wingers like to hide behind ignorance because they find it very difficult to think for themselves, so until it hits them I fear the NHS and welfare are coming to an end.
redbabylon 2 weeks ago
I think you have been given wrong information. In NHS they use statistics to show patients are getting advice from medical professional but the people who offer advice and treatment are not medically trained doctors but nurses and receptionist. I have conducted a study to find out why patients consult doctors after I saw your documentary Sicko. The result was shocking but the way some of the patients were treated was more shocking. Please watch my video and think!!
medifix 2 weeks ago
I am struggling to bring back the lost human face of medicine by breaking the barrier between patient and doctors by politicians and managers. These people in power have taken control of medical profession by creating a barrier between patient and their doctors. They are using guidelines and rewarding doctors for meticulously following the protocol that encourage prescriptions, investigations and treatments that may not be necessary.

Northern Ireland is a province, not a country.
Even Wales wasn't considered a country until 1955, because Henry VIII (who was Welsh himself, ironically) made it a province of England in 1535.

I hope Michael Moore will get CANCER as Nye Bevan did.
MrRobertJameson 3 weeks ago
@MrRobertJameson The NHS is evil? Educate yourself, man! Results of the Commonwealth Fund 'Mirror Mirror on the Wall' report, 2010, which examined seven First World healthcare systems. Overall rankings:
1. Netherlands
2. United Kingdom
3. Australia
4. Germany
5. New Zealand
6. Canada
7. United States
The UK also scored #1 for efficiency!

@BasilFawlty4444 The NHS is evil rubbish like the left-wing BBC, and I'm so glad Nye Bevan died of cancer.

@BasilFawlty4444 What, you mean the typical Labour voter?
MrRobertJameson 2 weeks ago
@MrRobertJameson Yeah, which is why they won majorities three times...
BasilFawlty4444 2 weeks ago
@BasilFawlty4444 Only immigrants and people on welfare vote Labour.
Blair only made Labour electable by changing its name and adopting most of Mrs Thatcher's policies.
Anyway the Conservatives got more votes in England in 2005.
MrRobertJameson 2 weeks ago
@MrRobertJameson According to the New Statesman, Labour would have won majorities in 1997, 2001 and 2005 without Scotland.
Blair modernised Labour in order to make it electable, yes; he changed Clause IV.
But in doing so, Blair destroyed the Conservatives' position too. The modern Conservative Party has been pulled farther to the left, arguably, than the Labour Party was to the right after Thatcher.
On PMQs, even the Tories are yelling about protecting low-income families.
BasilFawlty4444 2 weeks ago
@BasilFawlty4444 Labour only won on record low turnouts in 2001 and 2005 because they had rigged the boundaries in their favour so badly in 1999.
Hence Cameron got well over a million more votes than Blair managed in 2005, yet still ended up with more than 60 fewer MPs.
Under the new boundaries Labour would not have won in 2005.
MrRobertJameson 2 weeks ago
@MrRobertJameson aww.
Did you read that in The Sun?
BasilFawlty4444 2 weeks ago
@BasilFawlty4444 No, I've never read The Sun.
Thankfully the boundaries are being changed and Ed Miliband will never win an election - if he's even still there in 2015, that is.
MrRobertJameson 2 weeks ago
@MrRobertJameson Unfortunately you're right.
BasilFawlty4444 2 weeks ago
@BasilFawlty4444 The Tories would have got a majority without the rigged boundaries that gave Labour an extra 100 MPs.
The Scots will have to have tuition fees once they stop living off welfare from England.
MrRobertJameson 2 weeks ago
@MrRobertJameson You really are naive, mate.
The statistics show clearly that Scotland has paid it's own way in every aspect of it's devolved services. The media myth that English taxes are paying for Scottish prescriptions, tuition fees etc has been disproven time and time again.
BasilFawlty4444 2 weeks ago
@BasilFawlty4444 Good joke!
MrRobertJameson 2 weeks ago
@MrRobertJameson Joke?
READ THE ARTICLE:
'Enough of the Scottish subsidy myth'
New Statesman, James Maxwell, 06 November 2011
"...if the London commentariat took the time to examine the figures a little more closely, they would discover what a large number people north of the border already know: not only does Scotland more than pay its way in the Union, but its overall fiscal position would actually be stronger as a fully sovereign nation..."
BasilFawlty4444 2 weeks ago
@BasilFawlty4444 I wonder how the worthless cunts in The Scheme will manage without welfare from England?
I hope the Scots know they will have to take full responsibility for Northern Ireland.
MrRobertJameson 2 weeks ago
@MrRobertJameson It says a lot about a person when they refer to a crappy TV programme rather than listening to the statistics...
From the same article:
"Scots represent 8.4 per cent of the UK's total population, but they generate 9.4 per cent of its annual revenues in tax -- equivalent to £1,000 extra per person."
BasilFawlty4444 2 weeks ago
@BasilFawlty4444 I feel very sorry for all the innocent people in Ireland who will be violently murdered as a direct result of the SNP.
MrRobertJameson 2 weeks ago
@MrRobertJameson The Irish matter was pretty much settled with the Good Friday Agreement. The 98% desire for an end to the violence in the Republic of Ireland settled the matter once and for all. Nobody cares and more. Now we have global culture, nation-states are becoming irrelevant and religion in politics is already dead.
The supposedly-resurgent "Real IRA" (actually NOT the real IRA) are a pathetic group who have and will achieve nothing.
BasilFawlty4444 2 weeks ago
@BasilFawlty4444 If Scotland votes yes England will drop Northern Ireland in a second, causing another Irish Civil War.
MrRobertJameson 2 weeks ago
@MrRobertJameson And what is your basis for this sweeping and unfounded claim?
IF Scotland leaves the union, nothing will be done in NI without a referendum. And as we saw after the Good Friday Agreement, referendums have a habit of finalising things; it killed the militant Republican movement stone dead.
BasilFawlty4444 2 weeks ago
@BasilFawlty4444 If Scotland leaves the Union will not exist, so the worthless Good Friday Agreement will be completely void.
I hope you know you will have to take the Ulster-Scots with you.
MrRobertJameson 2 weeks ago
@MrRobertJameson OK, firstly, I was using the Good Friday referendum as an example as to what will happen; if Northern Ireland VOTES to leave the Union there will very probably be little or no violence - as referendums have a very finalising effect.
Secondly, the UK as a political entity will still exist, minus Scotland.
BasilFawlty4444 2 weeks ago
@BasilFawlty4444 There will be no UK without Scotland.
England will drop Northern Ireland immediately, causing another civil war.
MrRobertJameson 2 weeks ago
@MrRobertJameson Of course the UK will still exist.
BasilFawlty4444 2 weeks ago
@BasilFawlty4444 The UK won't exist, because it refers to the union between England and Scotland. Wales and Northern Ireland were never kingdoms.
You will have to take full responsibility for Northern Ireland, because all the loyalists/Protestants there are Scots planted by King James VI.
Westminster knows the people of Northern Ireland will never vote to join a bankrupt slave of the EU, so there will be no referendum.
Scots colonised Ulster, now you are causing another Irish civil war.
MrRobertJameson 2 weeks ago
@MrRobertJameson The government would disagree with you; they want the referendum question to be - "do you want Scotland to leave the United Kingdom?"
Indeed, Salmond's alternative - "do you want Scotland to become an independent nation" has been criticised as a loaded question by a number of professionals.
Scotland leaving the UK will not change the political status; there are, after all, four countries that make up the Union, and you cannot explain to me why NI would leave.
BasilFawlty4444 2 weeks ago
@BasilFawlty4444 It doesn't matter what the question is. If Scotland leaves the UK will cease to exist.
Northern Ireland is not a country.
Northern Ireland won't want to leave but England will drop it in a second. All the loyalists are Scots, not English.
MrRobertJameson 2 weeks ago
@MrRobertJameson I am not causing anything - I am opposed to Scottish independence.
At any rate, I seriously doubt that Scottish independence would have any immediate repercussions in Ireland. And if they did, the Scots should still not be compelled to vote otherwise; it is right that they should be allowed to vote on this matter.
Northern Ireland isn't a country??? SERIOUSLY?

@juicyclaws yes taking more than £125bln out of peoples pockets to fund a system that is intrinsically flawed is a fantastic idea. little do you know the only way to fund this is by debasing the currency, which is the fasts way to transfer wealth from the working class and middle class to the richest - keep believing in the illusion that everybody has the right to something for nothing (even though its not nothing) ... that will fix the economy, and entitlement system - good job, finance 101

@ri0r i live in sweden, we have free health care, we dont have any problems with our economy.
juicyclaws 3 months ago
@juicyclaws yeah its also 8£ a pint in sweden with a 25% VAT and ~50% income tax . Additionally the economic system in sweden is hybrid, the UK doesn't have a balanced budget and believes the Keynesian model of a budget surplus can be offset by monetary expansion. In short the accumulated debt can be devalued by inflating the currency. It's an intrinsically flawed system unless you believe in heavy taxation to compensate, eventho it is more cost efficient to leave it to the individual.
ri0r 3 months ago
@juicyclaws You are setup for an export economy like Germany is. It doesn't change the fact that your taxes are outrageous and your economy is held back because of it.
Warpath2198 3 months ago
@Warpath2198 taxes outrageous? lol i dont agree, maybe compared but atleast our economy is relatively good atm and we have FREE health care lol.
juicyclaws 3 months ago
@juicyclaws free implies that you are able to choose against competitors, free also implies that you offered something at no cost, free also means that if you may opt-out if you wish. Considering 'your' healthcare doesn't offer any of these features, how on earth can it be considered free? Finally, I chuckled when you said 'our economy is relatively good', relative compared to who? Greece? Italy? - The debt and liabilities dwarf that of those countries, so how is it in anyway 'good'?

Warpath2198 3 months ago

Warpath2198 3 months ago
@ri0r Even Warren Buffet the super liberal himself, is battling the govt. because he doesn't believe his company owes the IRS taxes, and he just gave an interview a month ago about how the rich should pay more taxes lol. Warpath2198 3 months ago
Warpath2198 3 months ago
@ri0r I have a friend in New Zealand that cling to some of the class warfare ideals. He called me up the other day asking about the Occupy Wallstreet protests. My response was basically that rich people did not steal the money, you voluntarily gave it to them. Starbucks, McDonalds, Wal-Mart did not get to be billion dollar businesses by pillaging peoples coffers, that jobs is for the U.S. govt.
Warpath2198 3 months ago
@Warpath2198 It's just an issue of people unwilling to seize their power as a consumer. If you don't like a bank, then don't deposit your money there. But to attack morality in a business is absurd. Especially when your trying to enforce your own 'morals' on them. More taxes doesn't change this. It just makes people leave the country- I think you'll enjoy this: /watch?v=UGL-Ex1CD1c

Warpath2198 3 months ago

Private health care is a dreadful system. No one wants it in this country. That's why the bastard Tories have to do it by stealth.

Very True, we should all be concerned. The current NHS is kind of bad for waiting but it's nowhere near as terrible as it would be if it was privatised.
whatdidyoujustsay 5 months ago
The reforms don't actually involve privatisation at all....
