Even if you're not a fan of Yngwie, it's hard to dismiss the differences between songs like Far Beyond The Sun, I'll See The Light Tonight, Black Star, etc. His style is very black and white, but that doesn't mean everything he does is essentially 'the same' - he does have some merit man.

Basically

1) He started at a young age (was it 14 or so?)

2) At 14, he practiced like 10 hours a day and did 5 hours perfect technique practicing 5 hours songwriting (which is sort of practice in a way)

3) At 16 he had pretty much all his skill that he needed

4) He joined bands (which means more practice/more refining)

5) He played guitar live for the next 18+ years

Honestly though if you do 10 hours a day for 2 years... you could do this.

Just very difficult.

The hardest part IMO is vibrato. I can do sweeps and stuff no problem (minus insane Loomis 7 string sweeps, the 7th string is really a bitch to make it clean), but proper vibrato takes so damn long to develop it's depressing.

@AlienRope I don't know if you can say that so easily actually. Jeff's playing style is much more traditional and straightforward than Tosin's. Tosin plays on 8 strings and plays in incredibly awkward time signatures. Jeff is definitely amazing don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE him, but I honestly feel like Tosin is a robot when it comes to guitar. I enjoy Loomis' music more, but I think Tosin can probably play crazier stuff than him while making virtually no mistakes.
