  • I hate that it's painted. I feel like it's not real. I'd rather see in in black and white than in an unnatural coloring.

  • Are there any more I Love Lucy in color, its so weird to see this show in color

  • Fred meant Lucy.

  • "I've been putting up trees for that kid for the past 15 years" how is that even possible, Little Ricky is only 5

  • @h193013 He was referring to Lucy.

  • i rather watch it in black in white :)

  • Isn*t it funny, she just found out that she is pregnant and immediately she is wearing a maternity dress.

  • @baechi00

she was already pregnant, in this episode, she was already wearing loose clothes before this episode, notice that in the beginning shes wearing a big coat. they decided to write it in the show.

  • Is the little boy who played little Ricky their actual son, or is that an actor playing their son ? Just wondering (: lol

  • @JulieAndrewsLover22 No, the boy that played their son on TV is Keith Thibodeaux. Lucy and Desi did not use their actual son on the television in fears that Lucie, their daughter, would feel left out and jealous.

  • @canadianwoman1961 I don't think they knew about the dangers of smoking back then :/

  • $5 for a Christmas tree in the 50's? Fred would have a stroke if he knew how much they are in 2011!!

  • I'm 26 now, I've been watching I love lucy episodes with my mom since I was...well, since I can remember. seeing it in color throws me for a loop. It looks great and all, but, I can't imagine watching I love lucy in color. If I had the option of buying the dvd in color or black and white....black and white would be my choice hands down. some shows are better in black and white, Lucy being one of them.

  • No smoking infront of the kid

  • ricky is sooo cute ! btw it looks weird seeing them in color scince im soo used to seeing it in black and white

  • get rid of that text in the middle of the screen! fuckers

  • Idk why but I prefer it in b&w it looks so weird :/ lol

  • Wow - the color scheme in that apartment... XD. It wouldn't be the 50s without a touch of kelley green, but with pink?

  • am i the only person who cant stop thinking about rickys second hand smoke? lol

  • @dreyes323 This was in 50s, back then second hand smoke didn't kill or caused cancer so it's okay. LOL

  • I did not know her hair was red until the show was in color! :D

  • thumbs up if ur waching this in 2012

  • @madisenrose1 i dont think any of us are

  • i love lucy that sounds funny to me cause my name is lucy

  • I have a question. I have been reading for years that Desi Arnaz actually did have a few episodes filmed in color. Any idea where these episodes are today? I have never seen them syndicated.

  • i just love lucy

  • it looks weird in color lol. hey wheres the piano!?

  • What kid was Fred refering to at 4:36?

  • take tht thing out of the middle of the screen

  • for some reason, i am just not enjoying this in color...this was meant to be black and white, but it is sure amazing seeing this in color

  • whats with the add that keep popping up...... talk about annoying!!

  • i dont know what happened to my voice lately i do seem to sing well any more.

LATELY ANY MORE. haha love that

  • it looks so weird watching them in color

  • @scarletdawn2 All those years, this is the only episode that was shown in color.

  • Wow! I love Lucy looks sooo different in color!!! I still Love Lucy though!!!

  • @samramirez12

at first it looks wrong....then u realize that this was the way it was meant to be filmed..the same show, same actors, same period, just in color. black and white is more classic though,

  • You're going to wake Little Ricky up with all of that loud singing!!

  • that's so romantic. That's why I want my husband to be a singer, so he could sing me stuff like that. =]

  • Miranda Cosgrove loves I love Lucy

  • "The Wizard of Oz" was not colorized. The opening sequences were purposely shot in sepia-toned black and white and the remainder of the movie in color.

  • The chair next to the fireplace was medium brown, not green.

  • just making sure...they colored it after right? like what they did to wizard of oz?

  • @BlackvilleGrave33 Yes they did; it was of coarse originally in black & white.

  • @VintageTelevision863 Well, The Wizard of OZ was in color AND in black and white film.

  • @BlackvilleGrave33 The Wizard of Oz was not filmed in black & white and then colored later. The whole movie was filmed in color except the black & white scenes which were toned with a sepia color in post production. But to answer your question, this episode was filmed in black & white like the whole series, but then colored later.

  • Comment removed

  • @BlackvilleGrave33 yeah, except in the Wizard of Oz, all the Oz scenes were, contrary to popular belief, actually film in color and not in black and white and then colorized

  • @BlackvilleGrave33 The Wizard of Oz was filmed in Technicolor; it was never in black and white.

  • @BlackvilleGrave33 Except the Wizard of Oz was actually filmed in color, by Technicolor.

  • @BlackvilleGrave33 Actually all cameras filmed in color its just peoples tv's back in the day could only display black and white

  • @UrbanLeopard13 No they didn't! You have no idea what you're talking about. Movies were first done in black and white, and many years later they invented a way of filming in color. When TV started, everything, even the cameras, did only black and white. Color didn't come in until later. Why do you think shows like Andy Griffith and the Hillbillies are black and white in early seasons? Because that's how they were filmed.

  • @nakyer Nope. Your wrong. Not in the 50's when I Love Lucy started. The cameras they used, all of them, filmed in color. How do you think they got color from "The Wizard of Oz" retard, that was in the 30's. So you don't know what your talking about. All cameras in the 50's filmed in color, it was just too expensive have Technicolor built in every tv set of that era. Every tv was capable of having color since the 20's. The first "Flat Screen" was buit in the 30's. Check your facts first idiot!

  • @UrbanLeopard13 Sorry dude, but YOU are the one who's wrong. Cameras film whatever's put into them, color or black and white film. The Wizard of Oz wasn't done on TV, but was a very early color movie.

Movies and film don't magically film in color. Movies started out filming only in black and white, and most TV shows, even after they began being done on film, were done only in black and white. (continued-)

  • @UrbanLeopard13 (part two) Color film is more expensive, and there was no reason to film in color, since there was no such thing as color TV for a good while, and even after it became possible to send a color picture over TV, most people only had B&W sets, so the TV people kept filming in black and white. You really got to do some reading, because the stuff you're coming up with is all wet. (continued in part three)

  • @nakyer Yeah yeah yeah. You are completely missing the target buddy. I said that the "Cameras" all filmed in color. They were processed in black and white, and duplicated and mass produced and broadcast in black and white because of the lack of color technology.

The cameras still filmed in color. I know my history. Just because the DVD is in black and white is because we don't necessarily even have the technology now to reproduce all the BW episodes in color. They still "Filmed" in color....

  • @UrbanLeopard13 (part three) This Christmas episode of Lucy was either a special, done in color, or has been colorized. Why do you think even the storebought DVDs are all in black and white? Because the show was filmed in Black and White and that's all there is. Even their "Trip to Scotland" episode, also now in color, had to be COLORIZED because it was done in black and white. Learn your history about LIFE, dude!

  • Wow this is awesome! I've always wanted to see this episode, and in color! Sweet!

  • :D
