she was already pregnant, in this episode, she was already wearing loose clothes before this episode, notice that in the beginning shes wearing a big coat. they decided to write it in the show.
@JulieAndrewsLover22 No, the boy that played their son on TV is Keith Thibodeaux. Lucy and Desi did not use their actual son on the television in fears that Lucie, their daughter, would feel left out and jealous.
I'm 26 now, I've been watching I love lucy episodes with my mom since I was...well, since I can remember. seeing it in color throws me for a loop. It looks great and all, but, I can't imagine watching I love lucy in color. If I had the option of buying the dvd in color or black and white....black and white would be my choice hands down. some shows are better in black and white, Lucy being one of them.
I have a question. I have been reading for years that Desi Arnaz actually did have a few episodes filmed in color. Any idea where these episodes are today? I have never seen them syndicated.
at first it looks wrong....then u realize that this was the way it was meant to be filmed..the same show, same actors, same period, just in color. black and white is more classic though,
"The Wizard of Oz" was not colorized. The opening sequences were purposely shot in sepia-toned black and white and the remainder of the movie in color.
@BlackvilleGrave33 The Wizard of Oz was not filmed in black & white and then colored later. The whole movie was filmed in color except the black & white scenes which were toned with a sepia color in post production. But to answer your question, this episode was filmed in black & white like the whole series, but then colored later.
@BlackvilleGrave33 yeah, except in the Wizard of Oz, all the Oz scenes were, contrary to popular belief, actually film in color and not in black and white and then colorized
@UrbanLeopard13 No they didn't! You have no idea what you're talking about. Movies were first done in black and white, and many years later they invented a way of filming in color. When TV started, everything, even the cameras, did only black and white. Color didn't come in until later. Why do you think shows like Andy Griffith and the Hillbillies are black and white in early seasons? Because that's how they were filmed.
@nakyer Nope. Your wrong. Not in the 50's when I Love Lucy started. The cameras they used, all of them, filmed in color. How do you think they got color from "The Wizard of Oz" retard, that was in the 30's. So you don't know what your talking about. All cameras in the 50's filmed in color, it was just too expensive have Technicolor built in every tv set of that era. Every tv was capable of having color since the 20's. The first "Flat Screen" was buit in the 30's. Check your facts first idiot!
@UrbanLeopard13 Sorry dude, but YOU are the one who's wrong. Cameras film whatever's put into them, color or black and white film. The Wizard of Oz wasn't done on TV, but was a very early color movie.
Movies and film don't magically film in color. Movies started out filming only in black and white, and most TV shows, even after they began being done on film, were done only in black and white. (continued-)
@UrbanLeopard13 (part two) Color film is more expensive, and there was no reason to film in color, since there was no such thing as color TV for a good while, and even after it became possible to send a color picture over TV, most people only had B&W sets, so the TV people kept filming in black and white. You really got to do some reading, because the stuff you're coming up with is all wet. (continued in part three)
@nakyer Yeah yeah yeah. You are completely missing the target buddy. I said that the "Cameras" all filmed in color. They were processed in black and white, and duplicated and mass produced and broadcast in black and white because of the lack of color technology.
The cameras still filmed in color. I know my history. Just because the DVD is in black and white is because we don't necessarily even have the technology now to reproduce all the BW episodes in color. They still "Filmed" in color....
@UrbanLeopard13 (part three) This Christmas episode of Lucy was either a special, done in color, or has been colorized. Why do you think even the storebought DVDs are all in black and white? Because the show was filmed in Black and White and that's all there is. Even their "Trip to Scotland" episode, also now in color, had to be COLORIZED because it was done in black and white. Learn your history about LIFE, dude!
