@tigerwoodsfan31 It's a way of making the shaft play stiffer. 1 inch tipping adds about half a flex of stiffness. You cut that off from the tip not the butt.
@hvgolfer yeah man the d3 is awesome. It really my first driver that I really want to keep for a while. The two models at pretty similar just a higher ball flight from the d2 and a nor classic look from the d3. But its one of my all time favorite clubs. I would say go ahead a buy one now since the 912 probably won't be coming out till late 2012.
