  • When music came from the heart...

  • this is f***in awsome...makes me wanna just shove a paul simon dildo up my ass.

  • vibrant

  • I have a mate, we are chalk and cheese, can't figure out why we mates until these guys music come on, says it all really.

  • Simply blown away. I can sing 3 part harmony to almost every song they perform together, yet this one, this one is special, I dare not intrude.

  • Really modern.

  • it looks like garfunkel would cry by emily...

  • Simon's muse had a voice!

  • what a band !! What a voice sinhronization !! Simply wonderfull!

  • Just wonderful!

  • Art Garfunkel + For Emily Wherever I May Find Her (Live 1968 Kraft Music Hall) = PHENOMENAL

  • This explains why I was a "folkie" since 1963.

  • His voice has been kissed by angels man. He has so much amazing talent!!!!!!!

  • they are so young. i was 20 in 68 and now at 63 it seems so long ago

  • Art is obviously auto-tuned here. Can't all the experts just hear it? Yes that is sarcasm.

  • hahah they are so serious

  • one person a guess doesnt know real music.

  • Paul Simon's writing, playing, and singing is obvious genius, but what is also truly amazing is what an amazing crystal clear solo voice Art Garfunkel was/is. The Combo is amazing.

  • This was part of a "KRAFT MUSIC HALL" hour, "Three For Tonight", featuring Simon & Garfunkel, and comedian/classical pianist Victor Borge {"something for everybody"}. This was originally telecast in color, on videotape- apparently, only a black and white kinescoped film copy of this show is in circulation. The announcer introducing them in this segment is Ed Herlihy, who was THE voice behind Kraft's commercials during the show (and spoke for them for over 30 years).

  • Very Dreamy

  • Good grief! I bet every current song-writer/musician feels utterly pointless after viewing this :-)

  • @blackmore4 -- Hear, hear! Check out a recent interview with Van Morrison (YouTube); Van is asked to comment on today's music . . .

  • @blackmore4 we wish...

  • old voices,old memories,old faces,old friends,but all these remain to our hearts...

  • Bloody fabulous! lost for words.

  • Type in Simon and Garfunkel monterey pop lost songs, and go to the one with For Emily, its a great version too, also Artie explains what its about a little better.

  • Saw them In Los Angels, Music center for one night (aids fund raising), they raised

one million dollar. They sang together for the last time.

That was so special time in my life.

Neil Young opened for them and he shabby either.

These two legends will live on.

My 9 and 19 year old daughters love their songs (poems).

Nothing ever come close to these duo, ever!

    Thanks for the great memories...

  • unbelievably incredible. in 1968...and in 2009 again.

  • If I could travel back in time, this is one of the stops I'd make :)

  • Great song, but I'm not so sure about Artie's sweater...

  • Thanks so much for posting these.

  • aaaah paul. hes sooooooo talented. i luv him. just found the dvd of this. what a find. this is precious and rare and beautiful.

  • awesome

  • For Emily is the most beautiful song for a girl!!

  • @MarcBable Too bad it's not for a girl.

  • @romanowskistudios , but it is for a girl, what paul meant was, its not for a particular girl named emily, its about a belief that a girl is out there, its about a girl he has been searching for his whole life, a girl he has not yet met.

  • @JEFFMM71 Thank you for letting me know that. I stand corrected.

  • 42 years ago still no singing group then or now sing harmony better. Music can be magical. Simon and Garfunkel proof this and many hope for the day when this kind of magic will return.

Thanks Paul and Art. Your the best even now.

  • @MsRobert56 The beach boys.

  • The best harmony now is Little Big Town. Anything by them. But listen to "Stay" or "I'm With the Band" or "Evangeline." Most amazing: "Boondocks" (but ignore the video--just listen).

  • @MsRobert56 there's pleanty of talented singers nowadays. Look at Jack Johnson and Katie Melua. This style of music still exists, you're just complaining that it's not in the same league. Do you need it to be? Musicians should be unique

  • I doubt if there's a woman worthy of such a song as "For Emily." Pity.

  • @marvy1118 I can think of a couple

  • Paul Simon is one bad mofo on 12-string.

  • Art sounds so young on For Emily

  • My god "For Emily" is just magical. Chillingly beautiful.

  • Great songs!

  • They NAILED it !!!!!

  • eloquent, poetic, lovely, touching

  • WOW Thanks for the Kraft Music Hall postings you did! I saw them when I was in High School and always wanted to see them again-and had thought back to these because they influenced me as a guitar player back then.

    ThanksThanksThanksThanksThanks!

  • "For Emily"...is so ethereal and beautiful. Glad to find this groovy video!

  • Stop that orchestra noice in the back please! It kills me ...

  • That's no noise...

  • Wonderful, ..........................

  • Overs is my faviorite S&G song, Bleeker Street is number two.

  • Artie's beautiful inside and out........

  • This version of "For Emily Whenever I May Find Her" never fails to make me cry lol.

  • OMG the memories of my teenage years. Thank you so much for uploading. I am in heaven.

  • grabs the 12 string for ``Emily`` ......love it...

  • Artie is the most beautiful man ever.

  • Actually, Artie might be the most beautiful person ever. Man or woman.

  • True! <3

  • The world will never know again such a tremendous coupling. God they had so much going for them in 1968. They were both college grads, riding high on the heels of a couple of hit records, in their mid twenties...and they weren't in Vietnam.

  • This is my favorite version of For Emily. But a thought just occurred to me. Are there string instruments present at this live recording? Because you can definitely hear them. Did they add them in later?

  • I think it's a mellotron.

  • the greatest duo of all time, simon is a modern day mozart and garfunkle's voice would make an angel envious.

  • Maybe you were....... Maybe we all were......

  • Why wasn't I around in these times? :-(

  • agreed - if only I had been born about 15 years earlier......

  • If I was born 40 years earlier, I'd have been 18 when this aired!

  • 15 years earlier and I'd have been around 21. oh no i feel a math problem coming on...LOL!

  • wow... art has a purely gorgeous profile.

  • he's gorgeous, period, with a voice like an angel. :)

  • Thanks for posting these :)

    They're fantastic!

  • Thank you for putting this on. They're so great. Ive never seen it. So good.

  • Trop bien j'adore ces chansons

  • folk genius exhibit A

  • They were totally at the top of their performing art at this time.

  • This was before Bridge!

  • Thank you for sharing all those videos.
