The only diference would be the pokemon you can catch in the games, much like the rest of them.

if i remember right (mind you it's been probably 4-6 years since i last touched my gold or silver versions) I think you'll only be able to get lugia in silver and ho-oh in gold

that be cool if they made a pokemon game that was effected by seasons and only certain pokemon came out at the seasons and the backrounds changed and the tropical places only got a little cold, then the legendary comes out and messes everthing up and then you restore balance.
