I lived in Southern California in 2007 and been around a few of the areas featured in the film. I'm now addicted to this movie having seen it about a dozen times on DVD. Great story. Takes a couple of viewings to figure it all out. Now, I watch it for its entertainment value.

This movie is not pretentious. The idea that people label all movies that make you think and/or have hidden messages is not pretentious but artisitic and inventive. WHo wants mindless explosions with the same 3 or 4 plots rehashed? Theres so much going on that our news media is hiding from us, we need a lot more of these kinds of movies. They need to promote them properly too and not sabotage them like they have done to the anti-war movies released the past few years.

a lot of people find this movie pretentious, but i for some reason love it. it strikes a chord in me, both with its all star cast and its story. i find myself coming back to it again and again. its just fascinating. like donnie darko it fails to make sense in many ways, but after a good viewing it leaves you with a sense of awe and transcendentalism. its cool like that.

This movie will only make sense to those in the know, everyone else will be sitting down when it finnishes thinking, "WTF was that". If you are a paranoid conspiracy buff, watch the part in the movie where the US-IDENT owner is walking through the office with sunglasses and earpiece on, with the volume turned up. A chilling voice says, "He's being brainwashed", in the background.

if you saw donnie darko just when they went threw the 4th demension things went hey wire thats why it uses like the robert frost poem the road not taken because it was saying we lasted and such but if we took that other road this is what would be happening and no one killed the otherwilliam scott before they saw each other so there for they convinced them they were brother but it relates tto the revaltions the dude going to commit suicide was the second coming of christ idk bout rock
