well, the Volkswagen cars are generally a different league to Fords, VW is slightly under Audi in premium looks and everything is quality, look the interior, the scirocco looks like a luxury sedan while the Ford looks like a renault, FIAT or whatever, just the usual plastic cheap compact car, they just added some sport seats. Design wise the scirocco wins cause the Focus looks rather cheap with that spoiler, looks a bit like cheap tuning to me

all in all the Scirocco R is a premium hatchback and its a great all day car, like a sedan, oh and did i forget to mention the gas waste of the RS? The Scirocco saves a lot more gas if you so will. But one fact isnt correct, the Scirocco R isnt cheaper i think, a good equiped R is probably over 40K Euro.

@dominoc5 yes man but bear in mind the Golf R is significantly faster in acceleration then Ford RS! Ford RS 0-100 km/h = 6,1 secs Golf R = 5,2. Also the DSG gearbox is cream. Yes old R32 has great sounds, thats why i will sell my Leon Cupra and buy Mercedes SLK350 or Nissan 370Z, im dont with 4 cylinder Turbo cars for a while. Oh, yeah this is about scirocco, not Golf and in my country scirocco R is as rare as Focus RS.

R20's 4 wheel drive is a big advantage even though it adds weight but the latest RS does not have torque problems because its built very intelegent. 5 doors might come handy but i prefer 3 doors (mostly the look). If you buy such hatch you dont buy it to look classy, and since when is impreza ugly?

I love the sound and engine of the Ford but after test driving the Ford and the golf R20 it took me 2 seconds to go for the golf R20.

The inside of the Ford is just crap compared to VW.

All the R20 needs is a sport exhaust to give it a proper sound and for another 500 euro you boost the engine up from 271 to 320 hp. Only a fool would go for the older looking Ford and in daily use on normal roads the ford is not faster.

Had a year long dilema with: audi s3, fucus rs, scirocco r. Test drove all of them and could NOT decide! Started to see alot of girls drive siroccos so that sort of ended that, s3 has been out too long and a new one will be released 2012'ish im used to german build quality and after the 5th fucus test drive didnt know if i'd be happy after a couple years with build quality and driving position... So now i have an order for the golf r! Best all rounder. Its a better handling s3 with better looks
