In addition to this and Hollywood Squares, Peter Marshall also hosted "Yahtzee" in syndication. He also hosted the pilot for "3rd Degree", but Bert Convy ended up hosting.
Merrill Heatter had Bob Qugley had sold their company to Filmways while The Hollywood Squares was still running on NBC so Heatter no longer had the rights to the show (Orion Pictures produced the Davidson version at this time.) This was Heatter's only way of reviving a kind of "Hollywood Squares" with Peter Marshall in response to viewer demands; he and Marshall were not fans of the direction executive producer Rick "CHiPs" Rosner was taking "Squares" hosted by John Davidson in 1985.
what killed this show IMO, is it's too much like hollywood squares, the agree/disagree format, Peter referred to as "the master of the blitz board", Peter opening the show by saying "hello stars" but nice sound effects and set, Peter did a great job and the game's far from terrible.
This was a pretty good show, kind of a combination between Hollywood Squares and Battlestars. The theme left much to be desired, though catchy at times.
Originally, the prize for solving the Blitz Bonanza puzzle was $10,000 plus $5,000 for each previous unsolved puzzle. This was later changed to $10,000 plus $2,500.
I have such a short memory of this show, and whn this show debut, I was only 3 at the time, that I don't remember if it had a ornage set at the end of it. Can someone help me out.

Okay, I have to ask it. Why isn't the opening theme the one with all the "hobba hum, hobba heeba humba" scatting?
TenPoundHammer 3 years ago
The hobba heeba theme was only used for one week until someone came to their senses and went back to using the instrumental version of the theme.

I rather liked the hobba heeba theme. Does anyone have an episode with that theme?

Bluetailvappy 3 years ago 2
Yeah, I'll admit, it probably would not be such a joke without the scatting.
