This can occur when you attempt to restore using an older .ipsw file. Downgrading to a previous version is not supported. @2012santiagojason go to ipods lock screen while its locked in, and hold the lock button and home button until power off, once u see the apple logo let go of the lock button and it will go into recovery mode then shift click restore, and pick the software :D it worked for me

hi have a prob which u might be able to help? i have jailbroke my iphone 3gs 4.3.4.(8k2) and firmware 05.16.02. useing redsn0w and iphone 3.1_4.3.4_8k2_restore.ipsw all went well until after reboot cydia app was all white and nothing happend when pressed?? have you ever had this happen and do yo know a fix? ps when down loadind ipsw filoes they were shown as folders and not the norm icon cube until i followed your tutorial lol realy cool hope u can help thanks ian ianturner10@sky.com

@ianturner10 I don't think there is an official jailbreak available for 4.3.4 yet. What you did was a tethered jailbreak, which means to get cydia and all the other jailbreak fun working on your iPhone you will have to run redsn0w again and select "just boot tethered right now". if it still doesn't work then i dont know what to tell you, sorry. The 4.3.4 jaibreak is still really new so it's really unstable. It won't work all the time.
