People from north of Jiangsu(Beixin) do not speak Wu dialect(such as Wuxi/Suzhou/Shanghai/Hangzhou dialect) at all,they speak Mandarin Chinese.

@crazyball8e i am from Wuxi wuxi dialect sounds like Shanghainese. they are both branches from WU dialect. it is hard for people from other parts of china to understand.
