Pwnage Tool 4.3.2 Untethered 4.3.2 Jailbreak Tutorial for Mac

For people having issues jailbreaking, currently none of the writers at iPhoneBlogr/AppleTVBlogr own an AppleTV to figure out what is going wrong. I purchased one on eBay yesterday so when I get it I will be making new video tutorials for jailbreaking, installing PLEX and installing XBMC and whatever other tutorials you all might want us to make. @technoDude777 Hmmmm you must have restored the wrong file then, make sure you are restoring the custom firmware that Pwnage Tool creates and not a factory firmware. If you restore the custom firmware Cydia should be on your springboard as soon as the phone reboots after restoring.

i'm getting the msg after strting Pwnagetool that "No firmware bundle found! Would you like to search the web for this file?". I downloaded the "AppleTV2.1_4.3_8F191m_Restore­.ipsw" firmware. is this the correct firmware? Please help. I've been trying to jailbreak my Apple TV for 3 days now & it's driving me crazy.

everything works perfectly right up until the restore bit, it doesnt give me the choice to go into file and find the pwnage file, it gives me the choice of previously backed up files or factory settings. can you help?

@charlottehes You have to hold down option when you restore to select the pwnage firmware

@2delorean4 Yes, restoring to a new firmware will remove all the data stored on your iPod. You will need to resync it back across.

Trying to jailbreak 3gs new bootroom with ios4.3.1 pwnage tool 4.3 and error coming says 'device isnt eligible for the requested build'..any advice?

@Qachee That means that you either downloaded the wrong firmware file for your device, or the firmware was corrupted. Re-download your factory firmware and make sure you download the correct one and let us know!

@JM0N3YCASH Unfortunately, error 21 typically indicates a hardware problem with the iDevice itself. You should try another computer, if you still get error 21 then the problem is likely with the device. Hopefully it isn't already jailbroken and you can take it into Apple to have them repair or replace it.

Hi. Thanks for this video. It really helped me jailbreak my iPhone 4 iOS 4.3.1.

I would like to add a few pointers: When we use Pwnage tool and keep the simple mode (in redmond pie website it is mentioned expert mode which didn't work for me at all and gave me no network signal) so i jailbreak again. the option that comes: do you have iphone contract that activates through iphone: first i did no and there was no signal after jailbreak. then I did yes for it and Jailbreak worked well for me.

After you run the jailbreak restore... can you tell itunes to Restore your Old phone config or do you have to setup the iphone as a new device with itunes? Im referring to the last screen that is shown in the video... Which option do you choose?

@David20931 You would have to use the "update" feature and then use redsn0w instead of pwnage tool, but we do not recommend this. Usually updating screws up the firmware and you end up having to restore anyway. You should always do a fresh restore when updating.

dude everything worked as you said and this is the thing now, I am located in the very last part when it says "restore from back up of my phone" well i just accidentally restored from my phone, i guess ill see what happens, maybe cydia will stay there :/

@aleja201084 Cydia will stay, that part only restores contacts/settings/photos/etc. However, I wouldn't reccomend using that option, you should chose "Set up as new iPhone" sometimes settings from previous firmware versions can cause issues when you update.
