I have found out a coincidence between MISS UNIVERSE 1991's FINAL QUESTION and Miss Mexico's one in MU 2005. Both of them exactly the SAME: "What is the most difficult situation your country going through and what can be done about it?" - and in MU 1991, Miss Mexico Lupita Jones - gave the best answer - IT'S TECHNOLOGY- and she won the title MU for that question. And IN 2005, Miss Mexico used it again for Miss Venezuela.

In addition to Miss Canada, the one I am impressed by is Miss Venezuela. She deserved to be the biggest competitor of Miss Canada in that competition, not Miss PR. In the evening gown comp, both of them wore white dresses and they all looked absolutely spectacular. But Miss Venezuela was not lucky to receive such a harsh question from Mexico. A long question with 2 problems you have to answer, more suitably for a leader or a politician, rather than a normal girl.
Yes, I have to say I agree with you...Miss Venezuela had a very long question, and Unfortunatelly Venezuela was going through a horrible political and social situation during that same year, and we have to be very carreful when we are going to answer that kind of questions...but I think she did a great job

If you take a little notice of previous answers of former MUs from 2002 to 2009, you will realize that their answer are always CONCISE AND TO THE MAIN POINT, not GOING AROUND THE BUSH, just about 2-3 sentences and never reach the limit of time. I think made a LENGTHY SPEECH IS EASY, but TO MAKE A SHORT AND SMART ANSWER, it' requires one has to be clever and sophisticated. Miss Canada answered well and concisely, while MIss PR answered too long and went around the bush.

Puerto Rico tambien lo hizo bien y apesar que es mi compatriota reconozco que su lugar era como 1ra finalista. Rep. @huykute06 I don't think that's the case since all of their english sucked. I think they answered their questions in english because they wanted to "impress the judges" with their knowledge of it. But I think they should have sticked to answering in their native tongue.

i didnt understand why? have MEXICO, Dom Rep, Venezuela & Puerto Rico. Taken the help of an interpreter to translate the questions when they could have easily understood & answered the question in English.

In addition to Miss Canada, the one I am impressed by is Miss Venezuela. She deserved to be the biggest competitor of Miss Canada in that competition, not Miss PR. In the evening gown comp, both of them wore white dresses and they all looked absolutely spectacular. But Miss Venezuela was not lucky to receive such a harsh question from Mexico. A long question with 2 problems you have to answer, more suitably for a leader or a politician, rather than a normal girl.

Yes, I have to say I agree with you...Miss Venezuela had a very long question, and Unfortunatelly Venezuela was going through a horrible political and social situation during that same year, and we have to be very carreful when we are going to answer that kind of questions...but I think she did a great job

Stupid Billy Bush. In fact, only VZL is from South America. The rest are from North America. Academically, Central American countries (mexico) and Carribean countries (PR & DR) are included in the North American continent.

If you take a little notice of previous answers of former MUs from 2002 to 2009, you will realize that their answer are always CONCISE AND TO THE MAIN POINT, not GOING AROUND THE BUSH, just about 2-3 sentences and never reach the limit of time. I think made a LENGTHY SPEECH IS EASY, but TO MAKE A SHORT AND SMART ANSWER, it' requires one has to be clever and sophisticated. Miss Canada answered well and concisely, while MIss PR answered too long and went around the bush.

Natalie Glebova sin duda dio la mejor respuesta, salio de su corazon y no fue fabricada como ha ocurrido con candidatas en otras ocasiones. Puerto Rico tambien lo hizo bien y apesar que es mi compatriota reconozco que su lugar era como 1ra finalista. Rep. Dom. muy merecido su lugar, México pudo haber llegado mas lejos pero le hicieron una pregunta muy estupida y Venezuela se puso nerviosa y fallo, en mi opinion la peruana debio entrar en su lugar.

@LATINOPKI jeje claro, no te la traducire exactamente como ella dijo porque hablo muy rapido, pero practicamente lo que dijo es que una vez intento ser Miss Puerto Rico (2003) y no lo logro (quedo 1ra finalista aunque no lo dijo) y que ahora ella tiene esa oportunidad y la esta aprovechando al maximo, como todos tambien deberian hacerlo asi, saludos

Miss Canada Natalie's answer/response to her life's biggest challenge was "...always try to maintain a positive outlook on life", even though sometimes life is difficult. This came natural, and sincere from her. She well deserved the MU crown. I think she is MORE than just beautiful!

@huykute06 I don't think that's the case since all of their english sucked. I think they answered their questions in english because they wanted to "impress the judges" with their knowledge of it. But I think they should have sticked to answering in their native tongue.

@huykute06 they could know english and everything but they're not english native speakers so it's mandatory to translate the question, it happens to every contestant of every nationality, and why "even Venezuela" it was a hard question and she wasn't able to answer properly, adding up the pressure of being seen by billions still she did have the best pronunciation between the other latin candidates

Oh yeah..perhaps its right? but this is unfair for a candidate who came from an english-speaking nation.. like Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Singapore, Philippines, Carribean nations, etc.... lol.
Im not being a racist but, if they choose a Latin american candidate to be the winner, how will they communicate with other people living outside their continent? always bringing a translator?
