  • Bob Hope was a fudge packing fag.

  • @LadyCadbury

And you try and demean his humanity (after he's dead) because you are a leftist. Disgusting and heartless.

  • This relates to all political parties.

  • @IRONxEWOK Typical retard comment.

  • @IRONxEWOK

Leftists are, by definition, about growing the power of the centralized State, thus their own power over others. Sorry, but there is a difference, between someone who believes in as small a government as possible, thus less power and individual freedom, and otherwise. The catch-22 is that to fight those who are trying to control others by capitalizing on compassion and demonizing their opponents (racists!!) one has to get into office. It's a no-win, in a way.

  • "You mean like democrats?" LOL

  • Anyone care to explain the 'joke'?

  • didnt watch this shit but s my d liberal pussies

  • @notreallyidontthinks you DO know that until id say about the 80's i think im not entirely sure but republicans were the liberals and democrats were the conservatives

  • The jokes pretty interchangeable in all reality. My favorite is changing "Democrats" to "Maple Leafs' Fans".

  • I showed this to my liberal friend :DDD

  • Oh Snap!

I guess politics have always been politics. But for a statement like that to be said in movie... How times have changed. Bet you could not pay George Clooney any amount of money to say that line!

  • lets be fair both parties follow blindly

  • @cmillertime7 your comment reminds me of 1984...mostly because you said "proles"

  • Props to the people who aren't bitching about politics here. A joke's a joke and should only be see as such, especially in movies.

  • @zaininflames I agree, props to the people who aren't bitching about the false left-right paradigm. It's not difficult to realize that there is only one party to the politicians, and the fighting is a show to keep the proles distracted. However, I cannot agree that a joke is only a joke; there is more propaganda and indoctrination in TV and movies than anywhere else. This particular joke is meant to propagate the left-right arguing, and you can see how effective it is.

  • @zaininflames amen

  • So true. Democrats are the most ignorant and uniformed people on the planet. Some exceptions may be the union goons, welfare rats, and other blood sucking human parasites looking for handouts!!!

  • @gec343 I never noticed that. What kind of uniform do they wear?

Gosh, you know so much stuff.

  • @gec343 People blindly follow both political parties. The Republicans tend to be anti-science, and oppose change in general though. That's the truth.

  • Is this from White Zombie?

  • Was the guy who said that line Bob Hope.

  • So true.........of both parties.

  • I'm a liberal, and that was funny as hell

  • That's the closest I've come to peeing my pants while laughing in years.

  • political douchbaggery

  • That was laugh out loud funny... and I'm a Democrat...

  • haha Thats funny!! haha

  • You're a Zombie if you vote Democrat

  • @leopluradon113 The movie is called Ghost Breakers. Love it.

  • Replace "zombies" with Republicans and I'd find it much funnier. Your Republican party is the same as your Democratic party. Your political system is like a game of musical chairs that has gone on far too long, and has been playing with one chair for sixty years.

  • sounds like my wife !

  • @panakuken the voodoo-type zombies do

  • Let's put it this way, I live in Michigan, a state that revolves around the auto industry. Now this stimulus everyone claims to have been an utter failure, bailed out the auto industry. Here in Michigan we are looking at 13% unemployment, BUT if there had not been a stimulus it could have been FAR worse. What would happen if we let America's auto industry just .. die? This movie was made in a different time era, you can't really compare it to today's politics.

  • @LazdinsE

If they hadn't propped up the auto industry a few million people would have been out in the streets all at once and our industrial base would have collapsed. 1930 would have looked like a very good year in comparison.

Which pales in comparison to the fear that someone else might get 5 cents more than someone else.

This clip reminds me of the song "When All Night Long" by Gilbert & Sullivan. watch?v=VkB2s4q4v6o

  • Dayum dawg

  • Democrats= Zombies

    Republicans= Zombies.

The thing about the thing about Communism is the Government enslaves you with military, the thing with socialism is they enslave you with programms and benifits so you are endebted to them, but the saddiest and most comically depressing thing about Capitalism is you enslave yourself. Ours is a System that stands for "Sell Your Soul To Earn Money."

  • @fromdaghettowithlove you seem to be the only person here that's not a bigoted idiot. i applaud you. :)

  • i'm a democrat and i think that shit was funny as hell!

  • Bob Hope classic. But I bet most the dumbass idiots on here dont even know who he is.

  • @tach69 PALEFACE FOR THE FUCKING WIN

  • @tach69 Paleface is a Bob Hope movie

  • @fromdaghettowithlove OH I thought u were calling me something their for a tic lol Im more of a Jack Lemon guy but Bobbie was funny as hell

  • @tach69 yay Jack Lemon! "Some Like it Hot" is one of the funniest, wittiest, movies of our time

  • @tach69 ... only its not in our time, but still.

  • @fromdaghettowithlove no its not my time, but Im an actor/writter so Im a huge fan of film, ppl in my age range cant keep up with my knowledge of film. And yes thumbs up to Some Like It Hot lol

  • @tach69 i wanna be a a writer/director and act in my movies like Quintin tarantino, I have written sveral screenplays and one won the school contest number one. I also played Alex Delarge in "A Clockwork Orange," so I know a little bit about films.

Its next to nothing, but hey, thats better than most ppl. My favorites are, Fincher, Scorse, Tarantino, Wells, and Burton.

  • @fromdaghettowithlove A Clockwork Orange nice, but dont forget about the Cohens,Wachowski's,John Hughes,Michael Bay's good The Toney & Ridley Scott but yeah Quenton & Scorse are my top fav's, I hope to be like Tarantino & Scorsese but still wanna act even though I love writing scrips.

  • @tach69 Problem is, now stuff like Twilight and Harry Potter are whats hot, no one knows about real drama and real good directing, where even if the good guys don't always win, and the Boy doesn't get the girl, and everything doesn't work out, it can still be a freaking good movie, like Se7en for example one of the best directed thrillers of all time, today that would be considered crap and wouldn't really make it anywhere.

Anyhow, Bob hope would laugh and cry in his grave. R.I.P Bob

  • @fromdaghettowithlove I feel ya on the Twilight I finally watched it when the 3rd came out, it took me 2 times just to make it to the end & it was 1 of da worst peices of crap i ever saw horrible acting & Directing, its like they had a good primis, but they screwed it all to hell lines like a 200 yr old guy saying Hold on tight spider monkey WHAT come on. Now Interview With The Vampire is one of my favs of all time THATS a vampire flick Twilight did good cause of Teenage girls hormones LOL

  • @tach69 Believe it or not "Hold on Spider monkey" is not the worst line. In the newest one (yes I saw it, it was a date and the chick was hot) they invented a new level of suck lines pretending to be good one guy says "Im gonna fight you until your heart stops beating."

I couldn't believe my ears. I mean, WTF.

Now if he would have said "Im gonna f*** you until your heart stops beating." well, that would have been a little better.

    Oh Kubrick, we miss you.

  • haha

  • GARBAGE DAY!!!!

  • Tell 'em, Bob!!!

  • lol @ people that can't live without bringing up politics in any context

  • truly the greatest movie line ever

  • every time i hear that i will laugh and cant stop

  • I love how people take something that was meant to get a laugh and get their knickers in a wad therefore completely missing the point.

  • Obama and Bush I and II with Clinton are just puppets. Whos's the man behind the curtain?

  • @branscom81203 Too right branscom: the MONSTER MURDOCH & the NeoCONS ALWAYS pull the strings from behind the curtain no matter who's 'elected' for a few years. It's Dumbed Down Mass Deception by a LobotoMedia - what's missing is telling!

  • ZING!

  • I'd be able to run the country better than obama and bush combined! as far as we know, Bush was a oil hoarding bribe-taking hillbilly warmonger and Obama is a careless black supremacist moron. I'd say more about the two, but words cannot describe the combined stupidity of these two former presidents!

  • @RAPTOR948 The fact that you say "Bush was a oil hoarding..." proves then and there that you indeed could not run a country.

When insulting others, please be sure to include proper English.

  • @Deadlywaterboy it was the start of a line of insults you ignoramus, the fact you didnt see that coming proves you dont any right to criticize others. now remember to shut the fuck up and keep your stupidity to your own dumbass.

  • it's good to see a hollywood jab at the democrats

  • screw all yuh. ANARCHY!! lol i only say that cuz i dnt kno enough about politics to choose a side. if u cant join em, beat em

  • @ConditionZombieINC spoken like a true dem. stooping to the level of a child because of his own inadequate views of politics.

  • Very "Insightful" description of Democrats. Liberal Loons who follow a Community orginizer blindly while destroying this great country. Guess we'll have to starting cleaning up the mess in November. Happens every few years, looks like some Americans could find an education outside of MSNBC and the Hollywood spin system. Wish Bob Hope were here to see what Hollywood is today,Slobbering Obama Zombies>

  • Thank God Republicans don't write much comedy. So lame. If he said "Republicans" it would have been just as flat. Sure Foxworthy, Larry/Dan and David Zucker (circa 1980) ago are funny, but it's a real short list.

  • "Zombie Land" That is great.

  • Bob Hope is awesome.

  • I'll tell ya pilgrum, if he had said "Republican" it would be played every day, all over the place.

another good one is in "Kelly's Hero's" Clint, Rickles,Sutherland, Uncle Leo, Captain Stubing, Archie Bunker, Harry Deean Stanton,

The German won't give up the bank or his Tiger tank, the bank with the 32 million in gold in it so Rickles says "make a deal with him, maybe he's a Republican"

  • LOL! "you mean like democrats?"

  • Hah, hah, hah!

LOL . I don't care who ya are, that's funny!

I think it's too late to keep politics out of anything. This film must' ve been when those crazy Dems set of the Social Security system even the GOP has come to know and love. Socialists, all....

A Dem now and forever, Amen.

  • Don't let the politics get into the comedy too. It's already oozed over into the science and now it's all f**ked up.

  • that was classic ;)

  • Michael Meehan is a Dem. Pushy one at that. His story has this as a link on Newsbusters?

  • HAHAHAHAHA, good one.......

  • I thought this was a joke when I saw soneone had linked this in a comment about Martha Coakley then I heard the punchline....priceless!

Looks like the comments from the Liberals and Democrats are trying to rewrite history again.

  • Thought he was gonna say "husbands" or something like that.

  • Your sort of correct my friend. The Democrat party back then was surely more conservative but not as conservative as the contemporary Republican party. I wish those Democrats were running to country today. Happy New Year !!

  • Dems back then did not back civil rights... so you think that today's Republicans are more conservative than the democrats of that time?

  • @TheSpiritOfTheTimes Democrats were never the conservative party. The racist party, yes. The Jim Crow party, the communist sympathizer party, the Mussolini-approver party, the "we're fascists and we're proud" party, the eugenics party -- all true. But they were never the conservative party.

  • You mean back when Reagan was a democrat?

  • Just like then there is no room at the Democrat Inn for a conservative! That is why he became a Republican.

  • @swagband ...good comeback!!

  • What is, according to you, the unchangeable definition of conservatism, the definition that doesn't change through time and doesn't differ in different countries and cultures?

  • @TheSpiritOfTheTimes Is this a joke of some kind, or a trick? Languages change, and so do meanings. Today's "conservatives" hold the positions that liberals held 110 years ago. Today's "liberals" hold the positions that Marxists and fascists held 90 years ago.

If you're going for "resistant to change," forget it. That was conservatism in the 19th century, and in Europe. Nobody holds that position today.

  • ''Today's "liberals" hold the positions that Marxists and fascists held 90 years ago.''

    Conversation terminated.

  • @TheSpiritOfTheTimes Get hold of a copy of Jonah Goldberg's "Liberal Fascism" and read the quotations from progressives in the 1920s. I dare you to educate yourself about your own party.

But you're afraid of the truth, aren't you?

  • @philWynk "Liberal Fascism" is a farce, mostly derived from half-truths, distortions of the truth, and, on occasion, flat out lies. One may argue against the extended role (some) liberals assign to the state and how it affects issues such as civil rights and civil liberties, but to say that Woodrow Wilson was the first "Fascist dictator"? Come on. This book is not intellectually challenging, just more anti-liberal slander pandering to the sentiments of the right, presented falsely as discourse.

  • @Gnayazad Sure thing, Gnay. I'm completely convinced that Goldberg's thesis is invalid simply because you feel a negative emotional impulse when viewing the phrase "Woodrow Wilson was the first fascist dictator." That's the most intellectually challenging refutation possible. By all means, don't offer any facts as counter-evidence; they're completely unnecessary. Your feelings are all any intellectually robust observer should care about.

  • @philWynk Yeah, passing the Federal Reserve Act, the Fourteen points speech. Hardcore totalitarian stuff. Some "refutation", for your pleasure: Saying Mussolini was a "life long socialist" is totally false. Mussolini was a socialist prior to WWI, but afterwords became a nationalist and clashed with the socialists. He did all in his power to eliminate the left, destroying unions and left wing newspapers, privatizing banks and factories. So did Hitler, the national "socialist".

  • @Gnayazad Wilson was a life-long advocate of increased, centralized power, and admired centralizers like Bismark and Lincoln. The Federal Reserve Act implemented a piece of that vision, as did other acts.

All the detail you provide re Mussolini is present in Liberal Fascism; for you to recite the same info that's in the book and call it "refutation" is hilariously funny; did you even read it? M clashed with Communists (as did Hitler) but only because they competed for the same constituents.

  • @philWynk Some quick comments, though I am sure neither of us is going to convince the other: a) Putting Bismark and Lincoln in the same basket as "centralizers" is wholly misguided as they had very different agendas. Implying "centralizer=fascist" isn't a serious claim. b) Nothing in "M"'s agenda can be really associated with socialism (also, socialism and communism are not the same). Marx was a humanist, whereas totalitarianism puts the state first. Read "Varieties of Marxism" by S. Avineri.

  • @Gnayazad (a) Communism is a subset of socialism. All communists are socialists, but not all socialists are communists. That's how Mussolini opposed the left and yet remained a leftist. (b) All of M's agenda can be, and ought to be, associated with socialism. The distinction between fascism and socialism is the distinction between nationalist socialism and internationalist socialism. Both are statist.

I'll read up on Bismark, but they do have centralization in common, regardless of their goals.

  • @philWynk Fascism deals with states. Marxism (as its variants) deals with collectives. This may seem like merely a semantic difference but it's not (though collectivism exists in fascism as well - but differently). In Marxist theory the abolishment of classes is meant to liberate all individuals, and allow them self fulfillment. M, in his ruling years, was not at all opposed to the accumulation of wealth or to the existence of classes, he deliberately favored the rich (by privatizations, etc).

  • @Gnayazad "Marxism deals with collectives." Except, Marxism specifies that a state will rise in the transition to pure socialism -- the dictatorship of the proletariat -- and in practice, the dictatorship never really ends. So Marxism CLAIMS to deal with collectives, but in practice, it's a statist dictatorship. And in practice, the dictatorship allows the heads of the party to feather their own nests. M was not opposed to wealth, but in truth, neither were Stalin or Khrushchev. What's the diff?

  • @philWynk That's exactly the difference. The difference is in the gap between "official" ideology and rhetoric, and actual practice. In the case of fascism, there is usually none. In the case of dictators with a "socialist" agenda, the gap between the original ideology and what's actually done is enormous. I obviously agree that Stalin's regime is a statist dictatorship, but that's not really socialism. There hasn't really been a functional, liberal implementation of Marxist political theories.

  • @Gnayazad "There hasn't really been a functional, liberal implementation of Marxist political theories." That's because the theory is delusional, and no practical implementation is possible. Marxism is socialism in a dream world. Fascism is socialism in a more practical world. Both are socialistic, and both lead to statist dictatorship.

  • @philWynk Microeconomics, AKA Western Economic free market pseudoscience is no less a utopian delusion than Marxism.

  • @IndigoVagrant And yet, virtually all the success the world has seen in raising the poor out of grinding poverty and giving them economic and personal autonomy has been carried out under western, economic free markets.

How can you call something "pseudoscience" that works in practice?

  • @philWynk Corporate Capitalism(NeoLiberal Colonialism) brings about poverty to much of the undeveloped world. You have been brainwashed by the mainstream media, education system, and government.

  • @IndigoVagrant LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!

No, son, capitalism is what makes people aware that what they've been living in for the last 5 millennia is poverty.

Capitalists cannot steal from people what they do not have.

  • @philWynk People were doing fine before the Eurocentric capitalists invaded their countries.

  • @IndigoVagrant Sure, they were. (Pats Indigo on the head...)

  • @philWynk The Democrats have nothing to do with socialism. They attacked socialist movements with the national guard in the 1930s for gods sake and partook in McCarthyism in the 40s and 50s.

  • @IndigoVagrant You think because a group attacked some version of socialism 80 years ago, they cannot possibly have any affinity for it now? Really? Defend that. The modern, Democratic party is OPENLY AND EXPLICITLY socialist, and has adopted the economic justice rhetoric of Marxism even while denying his legacy.

BTW, you need to adjust your view of "McCarthyism." There was no such thing in the 1940s; McCarthy gave his Wheeling speech in 1950. You meant "anticommunism," I think.

  • @philWynk rubbish rubbish rubbish

  • @philWynk Go research the John Birch Society and the Christian Fellowship then and see who is pulling the strings of the Republican party.

  • Comment removed

  • @IndigoVagrant Apparently this is a common conspiracy theory. But it's just that -- a conspiracy theory. Simply and obviously untrue. The John Birch Society is (a) a boogeyman reference, and (b) basically nobody in the modern world. Robert Welch, the JBS founder, died in 1985, and the organization barely has a presence anymore.

Not sure which "Christian Fellowship" you mean, but if you mean the group in Washington called The Fellowship, then you're basically demonizing a prayer meeting.

  • @philWynk The Koch Brothers who are financing the Tea Party and backing Rick Perry and Chris Christie to run for president, their father was a prominent member of the John Birch Society.

Today the Fellowship(The Family) is on a campaign for Christian free market fundamentalism. They associate with warlords who murder thousands, and the father of Douglas Coe was a founder of the John Birch Society.

The Christian extreme right is incredibly active and powerful in American politics today.

  • @IndigoVagrant Ah. "Koch Brothers." So, you're a full-blown leftist conspiracy theorist. Have a great life, and I do hope you return to reality someday soon.

I do wonder sometimes what operative in what cadre comes up with the names of the utterly innocuous business owners to slander for the next X years. I find it seriously amusing that so many leftists accept this nonsense so readily -- and still believe themselves "individualists" and "independent thinkers."

  • @philWynk The Koch Brothers have been caught in the act of trying to thwart our democracy in a very Ayn Randist "Atlas Shrugged" kind of way.

  • @philWynk Christian theocracy is the greatest threat to this planet, and so is the Capitalist Western civilization that comes with it, commodifying people, causing indefinite war, and destroying our planet.

  • @IndigoVagrant Sure, it is. (Pats Indigo on the head...)

Are you noticing a pattern here?

  • @philWynk Go live in your idealistic capitalist society and pretend that things aren't getting worse, not better, because corporations prevent a true free market(a non capitalist one) from taking place. You can pretend the robber baron years didn't exist, you can pretend that the original Tea Party wasn't an act of sabotage against a corporate monopoly(East Indian Tea Company), and you can pretend that the government doesn't dish out favoritism and distort the market, but you will be wrong.

  • @IndigoVagrant That's pretty funny, actually -- reciting factoids that any 10th grader should know, presuming for some reason that the reason I'm not an insane conspiracy theorist like you is that I don't know them. You live in a self-congratulatory bubble, like all leftists, only in your case it's rotted your ability to reason quite a bit more thoroughly.

You really should do a little more reading about the Robber Barons, though, and not from a neo-Marxist source.

  • @philWynk youtube.com/watch?v=tFz1VVXsWRU&feature=player_embedded#!

  • @IndigoVagrant Yes. And?

From :10 to about :13 was pretty sensible. "This is all because the government prints too much money." Correct; because the government SPENDS too much money. From :56 to around 1:28 was ok, too, and 1:38 to 1:58.

Want to know the irony? What this guy is saying at those points is EXACTLY what the Tea Party was complaining about. And you're calling the Tea Party a capitalist mock-up. You really do believe everything your handlers tell you, don't you?

  • @philWynk The Tea Party has been hijacked by energy corporations and extreme right wing religious warmongers.

  • @IndigoVagrant I think you mean, the Tea Party has been DONATED TO by blah blah blah. That's what the evidence says. Read a little more carefully, and for the 18th time in this conversation, PLEASE stop believing all the lies your handlers are telling you.

You do know that in all the Marxist revolutions, once the revolution actually occurs guys like you get taken out and shot, right? It's 'cause once you realize that the Stalinist structure is not what you fought for, you'd cause trouble.

  • @philWynk You are brainwashed dude. There are no "Marxist" revolutions. Stop throwing out irrevelant labels.

  • @IndigoVagrant

That's not true. The Left's *greatest* weapon is demonizing their opponents. You've been had if you believe this. For eg. people get far, far, far more money and esteem from the government and peers by supporting global warming than opposing it. That's why out of the thousands of scientists that think of it as a fraud, are also the ones who have nothing to lose (such as retiring or exceptionally honest in character.)

  • @itreeye I don't even know how to respond to you, I have never seen so much ignorance packed into one sentence.

  • @philWynk I'm voting for Ron Paul, not a communist revolution jeez.

  • That is so true!!!

  • @pfriday100 Unfortunately, it's now true with both parties!

  • thats absolutely hilarious

  • BAAAAHAHAHAHAAA!!!

  • Great line

  • lol at all the sensitive democrats getting their panties in a bunch. it's a joke, morons. oh wait, i forgot liberals don't have a sense of humor.

  • iJerm your gift for creative extrapolation amuses me.

  • Libtards are so sad.

  • ...or juice.

  • it's hilarious.

  • what movie is this lol?

  • The Ghost Breakers (1940), starring Bob Hope and Paulette Goddard.

  • The ghost breakers (1940). It's a great film, and very entertaining...

  • Fucking Democrats taking most of the money I earn a day! Giving it to poor people who chose to fuck up in school and not get a good education! I'm sick of this country

  • hahaha. wow.

  • Wait...Does this mean Obamas a Vodoo priest and Americans are zombies.

  • Yes Americans will do anything that the oh mighty TV or YOU TUBE tells them is right to do. All hail the media beast! If we are told that it's right to jump off a bridge, we would do it, cause WE ARE 'MERICANS!

  • haha if they remade this they would have to change it to republicans! how times change

  • No Republicans actually do good for the public

  • more like help themselves

  • omg its an Ed Wood film

  • funny - even funnier in context

  • funny

  • 167 comments and nobody cares what movie this is? Or who the girl and the other guy are? Sure, everybody knows who Bob Hope is, but this clip would never show up in a search on his name, or anybody else's name.

  • A friend supplied the title: "The Ghost Breakers," from 1940. Paulette Goddard and Richard Carlson.

  • owned

  • This coming from the guy who shilled for amway

  • I love it! Especially now that the House just passed the largest tax increase in our Nations History! It's called Cap and Trade! Those Zombies voted for it all right! Must have been Zombies. The 3 safeguards the Republicans wanted were stripped out of the bill! The plan would be suspended if 1. Gasoline prices went to $5 a gallon or more 2. Your electric bill increased by 10% or more and 3. Unemployment increased to 15% because of this bill! Right, the Democrats removed the safeguards! Me worry?

  • im a democrat and its still funny.

  • OHHHHHH SNAP!

  • LOL!!!!

  • LOL!!!

  • A cheap joke, but a very effective one...;)

  • Well I guess that sums up the Obama Administration huh?

  • haha
