We are about to witness reality when healthcare reform fails. It's not going anywhere. The watered-down public option seems ineffective and it's become only a symbol of ideology triumph . I'm for the trigger option, I think is worth giving it a try. If it expands coverage, ends discrimination based on pre-existing conditions, and lets you keep your policy regarless of end of employment, it may be a great start in the right way. The other option we face is total failure and a GOP president in 2012
As much as I dislike this amendment and the political pandering that it represents, it would be suicide for health care reform if the Dems try to block it. The Catholic Church will fight it tooth and nail and the socially moderate independent will be turned off as well. We might not be able to pass the bill WITH the amendment in both the House and Senate (thanks to Judas Lieberman), so what makes you think it will fly WITHOUT? Politics, politics.....
HEHEHE! I like that, i also wonder how much we'd save if we didn't spend 30k per prisoner per year for non violent pot smokers, but hey it's not their body anyway, right? oh well no matter the entire prison system is almost privated since the mid 80's and reagan's drug war, but there's no conspiracies
Some want to get re-elected in their states and they represent conservative leaning states. It's a reality they have to face. If all Dems don't accept that and compromise then they won't get anything done, will lose big in 2010, the whole agenda stalled and the GOP wins again in 2012 and all this effort of putting Democrats back in power will be a waste of time, effort and money, only because everybody has this all-or-nothing attitude, fast-food speed overnight-change unrealistic expectations.
This should be called the C Street Foundation Amendment, or "The Family Amendment." Read the articles and books by Jeff Sharlet, watch the interviews with him, too. This ground, "the Family" is at the heart of this abominable legislation and if it goes forward with this in place, the President should veto it. The Family is a profoundly anti-democratic organization, with deep tendrils into the U.S. Gov't. It must be stood up to and opposed.
oh god it's bootlicker1950 spouting more lame hyperbole and nonsence. healthcare for everyone is like germany after ww1??? you never cease to amaze me, how is it a conspiracy nutjob like you even able to use the intranets? arent you afraid that obama might use your computing device to take your soul and turn your children into queers?? do us a favor, go find that nazi germany you love so well. you are another lowlife that is using the worst atrosity in human history to promote your ideology.
"how is it a conspiracy nutjob like you is even able to use the internets?"
Where do you think conspiracy nutjobs get all their conspiracy theories?
FACT: the interwebs are the only place people can find out the truth about microchips in flu vaccines. The mainstream media is being controlled by the NWO. GOOGLE IT!
That only proves that the internet is so expansive, one can find validation for any theory one has, no matter how insane or far-fetched the idea is, TrollBuster.

All this voting is a waste of time when counterfeiting money is the major industry in your country.
Healthcare isn't "free" is it ? Where is USA right now ?

So sorry ridicule doesn't explain gold price.
1776 to 1971 Gold $35 per oz
1972 to 2009 Gold $1100 and climbing about $10 per day what used to take a 150 years.
Counterfeiting money always ends bad for the hamster taxpayer.
Unless you can explain why gold quadrupled in less than 10 years.

Still doesn't explain the price of gold ?
Fact: High gold price means the central bank is counterfeiting money.
