  • its so stupid how some people abuse their pets heartlessly, or some sickos even use them as sex toys... yet THIS is animal abuse...

  • Beautiful! I can't believe people are whining about the straightener lol

  • I love Maltese Doqz !! they are so qorqeouz <3 but it reaLly takez time when it cumz to takinq care of one ... I have 2 of my own & it does take time ... but I lvoe them to death :))

  • I have a six year old Maltese and I ve always wanted to break into showing dogs but I could never even find where the dog shows happen. I am going to a professional trainer next week to start lessons on training and showing. I found a pup that has already shown for 2300. The owner doesnt want to turn all the paperwork over to me till she is "done showing". Is this a normal procedure?

  • i have a maltese and its my moms dog and they tend to adapt really well although wheneverr she (my dog) catchs me and my mother hugging or anything she tends to get jelous i love ur tips and your maltese looks well groomed

  • write our associate ed@purepaws.net for breeder referrals in the US for maltese pet/show

  • your brilliant!!

  • I want to have a maltese one day BUT if I dont even spend this much time on myself, I doubt I will with my dog :P

  • @HildaOFAsgard LOL, this is a show dog. If it's a pet I am sure you would spend the time required to take wonderful care of it. Thanks for looking at our site.

  • i dont have a maltese yet, but i want to know how to groom her once i get her. im gonna just keep her as a pet, so are maltese a good companion pet? and do they bite or harm people a lot? i was just wondering and thanks! :)

  • @hippochick1 it is not likely you will find a maltese that bites, I would be concerned that they will be kissing intruders though :)

  • @PurePawsInc I want one so bad and i'm looking for a breeder. Thanks for the help, I'll be sure to look forward to tons of kisses! <33

  • As a human hair dresser, good hot flat irons can be adjusted to low...This type of hair needs liitle heat...he is not hurting the hair...

  • Why is she shaking all the time? Do not tell us it is from joy

  • this is complete torture to ur animal ... the poor pussy is shaking the whole time that u are cutting her hair

  • Awww, that's a great vid! I have my dog in a puppy cut (he's only 9 months old and I don't plan on showing him) but watching this makes me want to grow his hair out long. Thanks for showing the grooming process!

  • okay i dont agree with using the straightener for your dog....poor thing was shaken..

  • @fuwwe2 Please! Have you ever straightened your own hair? It doesn't hurt, to have your hair slid through a warm press. :)

  • i wasn't taking care of my maltese like how i suppose to; her hair got really tangled and knotted and so i had to get my maltese haircut ....when do you think it'll grow back?

  • @xXCocoDiamondDazeXx think of how long it took it to get as long as it was and you will have your answer. If you want to speed up the process of growing coat faster, we suggest our product ultra silk cream as it protects the hair shaft therefore promoting coat growth. There are also other supplements you can give your dog to increase the coat growth.

  • For some reason Your videos wont play for me. I have no problem with other ones. Why is this? I want to watch you groom her so I can do my own. We dont blow dry her, I only want to see the trimming. My dog loves to be groomed.

  • @netlace We haven't had other complaints on this video. Please try pulling it up on a friend's computer to see if it works. Most dogs love to be groomed and the ones that don't usually develop a liking to it once they realize that it is a very calming comfortable exercise. I have dogs that love to be groomed so much that they are jealous when others are on the table and come and try to get on the table as well.

  • The more you groom the more they enjoy it. Use lukewarm water, not to hot nor too cold. Draw the bath ahead of time for those creatures that are uncomfortable in the tub and pour the shampoo/water over your pet gently as not to frighten them. Hope that helps. Our oatmeal/aloe shampoo & conditioner will make the hair much easier to brush through and smells great. Good luck with your grooming. Let us know if we can be of any further help.

  • I wish my Maltese stayed still like that she hates baths and doesn't like getting brushed she doesn't stay still for anything lol I like grooming her cause she looks pretty afterward but I still need a toenail clipper for her but this is a great grooming video very helpful :)

  • @noodlechick90 Hi noodle chick cool name---keep working with your maltese the older they get the more they cooperate. Many toy dogs do not enjoy the nail trim. Try using a pedipaw trimmer that grinds the nail rather than cuts, many times you will get better results. Don't feel bad though some of my toy dogs scream when they even see the toe nail clippers

  • WHAT?? straightening it??? oh hell noo!!!

  • @itsssannie you are too funny! straight is beautiful

  • Its nice that you take care of the dog that much. However, wtf are you doing straightening the dogs hair?!?!?

  • @phuanny for show exhibitions straightening is the difference between winning and losing. It's just an edge that can and will make the difference. Believe me in this breed it truly is a beauty contest as well :)

  • You're dog is so well behaved ! How do you get him like that ?

  • @tinateeni practice, the more you groom them the more they cooperate. It is like any other sport--the more you practice the better you get whether it be standing on a table, taking a bath, hitting a ball or ice skating. Practice make perfect

  • how do you train your dog to sit still

  • @super0chick practice, but there is a great book by the Monks of New Skete "how to be your dog's best friend" check it out at your library or purchase it. Great results, kind training for your pet

  • hi can u do a video on how to straighten a dogs hair i have been looking for that type a video 4 ages

  • @citrusgirl0246 practice on your own hair. always spray your dog with our product ultra hydrating finishing spray. Seperatesmall sections of hair with flat clips, spray, iron. Go to the next section. Do the undercoat first, top coat last. Never brush after ironed until completely cool for best results.

  • how do you keep your dog to stay put and not move so much??

  • @drawingangel2 Put them on a table not much larger than them. They learn not to move around or they will fall off. DO not let them fall off and never leave them unattended for even a moment!

  • I'm scared to groom my dog...

  • @jiwoo56 Does it hurt when you brush your hair? Practice using a very small amount of hair. Treat it as a jigsaw puzzle. Work it piece by piece. Don't be afraid it is not good for your dog!

  • Why is the hair cut so short under the belly?

  • @bearbearbethany So that pee cannot cause stain or odor

  • i wish my dog stood so well, lol

  • why would you straighten a dogs hair ?

    poor thing,

    its shaking. :{

  • .__. I thought "Oh... like women vanity".

It's probably a contest dog, and since those of the so "AMAZING" kennel club decided to classify dogs according to theirs classifications....

But you know? it's not 'bad' i guess, the dog is not being abused, and that's a good thing (sorry man but we have surely seen a lot of horrible things humans do to animals and honestly this man is just taking care of that beautiful maltese :]

  • is that standard for showdog maltese s to shave out the underbelly???/

  • Wow that's a very extensive groomer. I like that. The dog is Gorgeous!

  • i have a maltese and everytime i trim his hair or give him a bath he shakes no matter what.. i dont know why i dont abuse my animals, but i think its wut they do like chihuahuas

  • Try drying its head before everything else, that helps a lot :] they don't shake any more ^^

  • If this dog could speak it would cuss the owner out. Poor animal

  • Don't think so, that dog is used to it.

It's not very different from what women does everyday. Just that this dog cross through this probably each 15 or 10 days.

And he is using products designed for dogs... honestly, this man takes care of his dog; there are tons of bastards over there who don't even bath their dogs.

You're over reacting to my pov.

  • This retard is straightening the poor dogs hair. This is animal is shaking. I would never do this to my dog. How much chemicals can u put in a animals coat.

  • Ooh I really love your dog. It stays still unlike mine =_=

  • omg i didnt know we had to cut the hair from under them no wonder my maltese looks she has a little to much hair.

i didntk know you could straighten it either

also if i take my dog to the groomers do you think they would know how to trim the hair like you did at the beginging??

    thanks.

  • great video,,congratulations!

  • what kind of straightner is that? is it a normal straightner 4 humans or a special one 4 dogs?

  • This is a regular straightener. As far as I know they don't make them dogs yet :-)

  • @PurePawsInc They don't make dog hair straighteners because its animal cruelty!!! Get a clue!!

  • @phuanny DUDE! If you want a champion dog you have to make it look perfect! Get a clue!

  • @BookSockHandClub That's still animal abuse. I don't think you'll like someone using a flat iron and having that hot heat touch your skin. Straightening irons heat up really hot. There's a reason there are special buzzers made for pets as normal human ones heat up way to much and put the pet at risk for burn. You get a clue!!!

  • @phuanny ok listen i use a flat iron every day! i think i would know how hot it is! if you use it on a dog you have to be as careful as you would if you used it on yourself. and by the way maybe you should go and watch my little pony or something if your really that inmature!

  • @BookSockHandClub I saw your videos....you're a little kid. Your grammer isn't any good and you spelled immature wrong.

  • @phuanny i saw your videos... oh wait you have none! loser!

  • @BookSockHandClub if you want something to play hair with get a barbie!

  • bathing and wrapping should be done once a week but brushing should be done daily.

  • this is very helpful but how often should we do this

  • where can we get the whole packet of things for grooming .. like in the whole box there is shampoo, spray and all that stuff.

  • Wow you really helped me with your videos may you make some more of malteses? please i really would like it i couldnt have enough of these thanks so ooo much you guys are so great!!!

  • We will :-)

  • *gasp* You shaved the hair on the belly and chest so short! Would that be allowed on a show dog?!

  • Yes - we do this to help keep the dogs cool. At outside shows the temperatures can get very hot!

On heavier coated dogs this also helps to maintain a more managable coat.
