Yes,it has a recoil system. The barrel wasn't bored smooth or concentric so it only fires blanks which also keeps me within ATF rules. I just wanted a cool noise maker.
This is 6 foot tip to tail. If your getting one make sure it's older than 1898 in design and a muzzle loader. (read ATF rules on this). It's awesome in person. The shock wave is incredible.

I doubt thegreentrader would be allowed to have live 75 mm (+/- 3 inches) ammo AND a gun that fires'em. :-)
