Yes, you can, just use a basecoat under the paint, and seal of with a topcoat. It might not last as long as on acrylicnails, but it is possible!

yes, i use ordinairy craft shop acrylic paints, and if your paint gets a little thick, just add a bit of water, works wonders and lasts forever!

Can you use craft acrylic paint that you can buy from craft shops? Or does it have to be a special nail acrylic paint? I'm very interested in nail art, but don't have time to take lessons in this. I'm trying to teach myself.
