They originally gave 2013 a start date for her being operational again for the first time since 1981 but I heard from a good source that this could well possibly slip to 2015 , which is more like the time scale. She would be run by a professionally paid crew.
She looks much better in her present livery than this original one. It's the same all over , in this belt-tightening era financially , money is the major barrier to her sailing again. The MCA have passed her to carry 500 passengers , a long way short of the 1,000 she could have carried away back then.
very nice, brings back memories of her in the fifties when the rails crossed the road onto the quay, can't wait to get a sail on her, well done the volunteers.

Great to see the old Maid in steam.
Hope to see her sailing again, although it might be a while since the restoration started in 1993.
