@languedamour Definitely not. Check out some albums from her 'solo career'. If she stayed in the band, Sneaker Pimps would have been full of that crap. She was causing problems and wanted a hand in the writing, which she can't do. At least not for the Sneaker Pimps sound. That was just one of a good handful of problems they were having with her. They all agreed it was the best for the band and for Kelli. Read up on it.
They most definitely sucked without her since 80% of the reason people got turned on to the sneaker pimps was her voice and her looks. Bar none still the sexiest voice I have heard on any track since 6 underground first aired on MTV.

I'm not sure where that came from as I read it a long time ago on the internet. Tesco was changed to Tesko to avoid any sort of legal trouble.

People like Thurston Moore, Kim Gordon, and Siouxsie Sioux (in her early years) have shown you don't have to be a "singer," technically, to be a good vocalist.

They ditched Keli because Corner, that "faggot bitch", writes all the lyrics, and the following album was much more personal and the band felt that his voice suited the lyrics better, and they were trying to avoid being typecast as triphop. I've also heard a rumor that Keli was strung out on drugs and got too hard to deal with, but I can't find anything to confirm that.
I like SP best with Keli, but the other SP albums are very good in a different way.

She was a pain in the arse, a drug addict, a diva and a real bitch. Yeah, the image was good for the band at first but in reality she made it into a circus and took it far away from Chris' vision for HIS musical project (Kelli was just a recruit). The albums with her are great, but they're a typecast image and boring when taken out of context. Chris really is the brains and artistic skill behind the operation. They're fine without her.

No they definitely asked her to leave, I just read it recently in an interview with her. Apparently the band called for a meeting and she thought it was about the next album but really they were asking her to leave. Think it was because the guitarist wanted to sing or something. Stupidest thing they could have done in my opinion!
He was the guitarist, and did some production in the first album until they ditched Kelli Ali, and then he became the vocalist until the band's eventual demise. Afterward, he began his work as IAMX, featuring many unreleased Sneaker Pimps songs redone to be more synthpoppy.
Kelli Ali was pretty when she was with Sneaker Pimps. Now both artists are not good. Kelli's music is not that good and the modern Sneaker Pimps is just not like their first reputation. Kelli was like 19 years old in this video. Now she's like 35 years old.
I like both, but Chris tends to over-try with the vocals in a way that Kelli did naturally. Some of his "I Am X" output is too high-flung. Kelli just did.

They ditched Keli because Corner, that "faggot bitch", writes all the lyrics, and the following album was much more personal and the band felt that his voice suited the lyrics better, and they were trying to avoid being typecast as triphop. I've also heard a rumor that Keli was strung out on drugs and got too hard to deal with, but I can't find anything to confirm that.
I like SP best with Keli, but the other SP albums are very good in a different way.

I always liked the way this song starts out, and it carries itself well through the verses and bridge. That chorus part is way awkward though.

i do prefer her singing to chris' but i think their crap is still pretty good, definetly more emotional than when she was in the band
and Kelli leaving the band was the best thing that coulda happened to her

She was a pain in the arse, a drug addict, a diva and a real bitch. Yeah, the image was good for the band at first but in reality she made it into a circus and took it far away from Chris' vision for HIS musical project (Kelli was just a recruit). The albums with her are great, but they're a typecast image and boring when taken out of context. Chris really is the brains and artistic skill behind the operation. They're fine without her.

Most people that were originally attracted to SP because of her voice stopped listening after her departure. It's like going from a hot environment to cold in a flick of a switch and most peeps aren't able to make that transition.

No they definitely asked her to leave, I just read it recently in an interview with her. Apparently the band called for a meeting and she thought it was about the next album but really they were asking her to leave. Think it was because the guitarist wanted to sing or something. Stupidest thing they could have done in my opinion!

He was the guitarist, and did some production in the first album until they ditched Kelli Ali, and then he became the vocalist until the band's eventual demise. Afterward, he began his work as IAMX, featuring many unreleased Sneaker Pimps songs redone to be more synthpoppy.

Kelli Ali was pretty when she was with Sneaker Pimps. Now both artists are not good. Kelli's music is not that good and the modern Sneaker Pimps is just not like their first reputation. Kelli was like 19 years old in this video. Now she's like 35 years old.

I like both, but Chris tends to over-try with the vocals in a way that Kelli did naturally. Some of his "I Am X" output is too high-flung. Kelli just did.
