  • hate war

  • song?

  • @Bulldog2702 it from one of the command and conquer games, Red Alert I think

  • Dis my katte die

  • Aww, I think their little tanks are cute!, with their little wheels and their little guns!

  • @dziban303 If you would know

  • @dziban303 Just like a mini. Asshole.

  • Mog... wtf is this

  • aren't the names of the rooikat and the rhino switched?, because I have a book about armoured vehicles which has really a lot of different vehicles in it, but it says rooikat with a picture of, according to you, a rhino. ?

  • Nazi march? Not surprising.

  • @Savta1234 Hell march actually.

  • Now that think about it, the G6 Rhino and the Oliphant should've switched names.

  • hmm.... this gets me thinking for some unknown reason, why should SA suffer the limitations of the resources they have? SA should've gone into Zim and taken control of the government and gained a massive peice of land which not only has greta potentional but they would claim to be to on the good side for realeving the land of a dictator, also conscription should've stayed imo.

  • .. DENEL should be converted into a car-maker.. they'd probably be successful in that market

  • @87yandi If Denel made cars they would probably be the best car maker in the world......

  • impresionante las torretas que hacen los sudafrc.

  • hey yappi a datsan 120 Y .LOL regards to the hummer-its to create work for the yanks

  • From the smallest to the biggest they move with quite alot of speed too, impressive!

  • nice vehicles.

    whats that music from?

    C & C ? not?

  • @muchlickabolacka is hell march

  • nissan 1400 bakkie is still the best!

  • I love that the Rhino uses the G6 from Denel, it's max range with base bleed shells is over 50,000m. I don't know why the US doesn't use that, we need it for light artillery support.

  • @dvdprui Effective range is up to 67km :)

Max range is around 72km, they are pushing it further now and will expect to hit the 80's as effective range!! Not shoot and miss :) like others do.

  • The south african equipment is superb equipment waaaaaaayyyy much better than the russian tanks operating in tropical conditions. We had some of those vehicles in Iraq.

  • Having been a gunner on the Leopard 2A4, I can only add this comment:

ROOIKAT = Poetry in destructive motion

  • I like the Rhino and the Buffalo ... two master pieces of ART, indeed!!

  • best artillery in the world....thats for sure

  • How would you like to be a Pommie soldier in Afghanistan facing IED's in a Land Rover? Or would you like to take a blast in the latest SANDF armour, live , and then be able to get out alive to kick the fuckers ass! Fuck me we have been the masters at anti blast armour for years, cos we've had to!! When are they gonna learn a land rover is kak even against a fart!

  • @iltidsn

    so true so true

You guys are veterans when it comes to IED's, the dutch should ahve bought your armor in stead of crappy aussie Bushmasters

  • Good soundtrack - C&C Red Alert... how appropriate ;o)

  • Hummer? Bullshit. the US & UK will not buy SA armour cos it will prove their stuff is kak. Even the Brazilians make better shit than them. Shame and their soldiers keep dying in IUD & RPG attacks.

  • I'm busy looking for some proof, but I've seen the SA Mamba operating in Irak, The USA bought them and gave them a engine upgrade because of the Mambas resistance to landmines etc.

I've also seen US troops that claims the Hummer will never be able to sustain the type of abuse that the mamba does.

  • All these USA & Brit soldiers being blown up by road side bombs, IUD's, in Iraq & Afghinistan. Why don't they use the armour we used? Fuck me you go over an anti tank mine in Casspir and all you get is busted axle & a headache! At least you can walk away from that attack. WE are still making the best armour in the world. Whats an up rated Land Rover going to save you from? A mozzie bite!

  • Why does the US and Brit not use the armour and vehicles we use the answer is simple. Hummer and other automotive- military corporations have the monopoly over the creation of American and British war vehicles. They will design the vehicles they think is best and not follow the examples of others. It is just pure arrogance, licence and corporate control.

  • @Afrikaner007 Not really. We have bought many of your vehicels. Rights to manufacture etc are a big deal. We are also very large. if we placed an order tommorow denal would shit itself. You cant make them in the ammount we require! Dont want to sell lic. Facts are you make the best no doubt. We didnt build our army for coin ops. Yet our goverment loves to play in them??? Thats another story. There are lots of factors to what we use and why!

  • @iltidsn

My thoughts exactly! The Dutch had to buy Australian made Bushmasters because they got blown to pieces by ied's. Is a Casspir capable of withstanding a 155 mm shell converted into an ied btw? We hadden die dingen gewoon in Zuid Afrika moeten kopen.

  • @Arnhem1972 No vehicle can withstand a 155mm shell converted as ied, but the occupants inside should be fine. The vehicle would need repairs after which means the South African ones are better suited as they are extremely simple to repair, which is their design. Lives first then the vehicle comes second.

  • @Venom0ZA

Those things cost about 500.000 SA rands each which is about 54.000 euros. A single Bushmaster will set you back at around 1.3 million dollars. I'm shocked right now.

  • @Arnhem1972 What can I say :) We did pioneer this tech into our vehicles many years ago. The Bushmaster is an attempt to be a hotel with a water cooler for the soldiers. Last time I checked if you need a water cooler to fight a war then you just shouldn't be there in the first place. I rate the Bushmaster 6 out of 10. It looks thought that it would just roll over on impact, looks like the A-Team van.

All the South African vehicles I rate from 9 to 10 out of 10 they are simply the best!

  • @iltidsn do we south africans really make the best armour in the world, or are you just being over-prowd? i do hope its the first thing i mentionend :)

  • nice vid!!!! - its hard to imagine that the old Eland 90m used to take out angolan T55s back in the day!!

PS - it's been called the SANDF for many years now people

  • Just the olifant main battel tank missing

  • Great video. Awesome music!! What music/band is it?

  • Song=Hell March from Red Alert game

  • Rooikat or Centauro???

  • Rooikat

  • @gallomia learn the history befoe you comment

  • Cool movie and nice song. Artillary rocks!!!

Ex Gunner 14 Art brigade Potchefstroom.

  • I smaak the Ratel but ive been checking out the Rooikat & think Ive got a new favourite !

Lekker to see the SADF vehicles again but what a pitty our enemy now runs the country. What the poes are us whites ganna do when Uhuru comes around later this year, hopefully we`ll have a few of these vehicles lol

  • Hey tjomma if Uhuru comes around I feel sorry for the ones gonna try and take us on.We dont need armour. Our enemy doesnt have dicepline and the same training we had. And that is wats gonna make the difference.

  • My fav bit is 2:53 where the tank went over a mine and is still capable of driving and fighting. I heard that USA and UK envy our armoured tanks as theirs cant withstand mines.

  • European armies are very wedded to the track because the logistics system in Europe is adequate to deliver tanks by transporter to the B echelon and Europe is generally pretty boggy when heavy vehicles are used. Tracks cut down on driveable time and heave up the maintainence cost of operations. They're also, as you said, very vulnerable to mines but have their uses in Europe. Wheels, especially in the light armoured recce/screening role and IFV role are the way forward. Love the Rooikat.

  • Seek and you will find(use Google).

  • SANDF - the name changed in the mid nineties

  • I've never seen so much footage of the Rooikat 105 before --- outstanding!

  • sorry dude- this is not the rooikat 105 featured - it is the operational 76mm SA Army version - 200machines were ordered into service and operationalo by the early nineties - the 105 is export but im not sure if it ever got any orders as SA always keeps very quiet about its exports

  • Ah, the *original* Rooikat. I should have been able to tell by the gun tube.

Even so, that gun is still a force to be reckoned with --- a company of South Vietnamese M41 Walkers (also armed with a 76mm gun) blew 22 enemy tanks off the map with this gun, including 6 T-54s.

  • Ja - and theyre not just firing HE rounds - we got all the specialist stuff like the APFSDS rounds for armour penetration too - in africa - we dont need the heavy guns - that will stay with the tanks - Rooikats an armoured reconnisance vehicle that can also serve a search and destroy mission if needed- the APFSDS ammo will make sure to still help in complete tank elimination if needed though

  • in fact - you will see the APFSDS ammo being used in this video in the rooikat 76mm - watch around 2:20

    cheers

  • Good vid !

  • All I have to say is eish....0.o
