  • Land Rover knows how to make a mean looking SUV.

  • 96 disco with 214,000 miles...most off road!...I love this car....cant wait to drop in a tdi 200, but the 4.0 v8 just keeps tickin!

  • Algo bn super like

  • I'm 17 and i have a discovery as my first car and i manage to pay the 6795.47 on insurance as well...... bankrupt now!!! :) Love my landy!!!!

  • My parents have discoveries in Qatar, hunks indeed. But I admit they have a weird charm about them. I miss the go-anywhere attitude of them now that I'm back in Australia. This video is quite awesome by the way.

  • Support vehicles were Defenders. Gotta laugh.

  • Just bought a 1998 Land Rover Discovery LE with 90k miles for a first car. It was the only decent 4x4 I could afford. Still wondering if it was a good idea or not.

  • In love with my disco :)

  • Whats the name of this song? Is it only in the commercial or a whole separate song?

  • Land Rover is the best car in the worldwide you can ask to El Gallo why he owns two. A Range Rover 1993 a Discovery 1998 next will be a Defender. Aw yeah....

  • i have discovery mpi '96!

  • I wouldn't be without my 94 300tdi. Land rover, perfection in action

  • Those things last forever

  • I'm getting the LR2 soon and my dad has a 98 discovoery. We love that thing!

  • My dad has a 98 50th anniversary and my mum has 04. I gotta say I prefer dad's Series 1, it just seems like a more "genuine" SUV.

  • @AdamAus85 a series 1 is not an suv by definition a rangerover is an suv so is a disco but a series 1 is a workhorse.

  • 1998 - the beginning of the end

  • love my 89 defender and 91 disco 3 dr

  • Land rover used lots of Rover interior parts

  • lol, that last clip pretty much sums it up. All the new Land Rover's are driven by rich sort of types who simply commute to work in them and ever so rarely take their machines off-road. True Shame.

  • @Vauxhall94 sadly thats what alot of the 4x4 market is coming too these days

  • Russian UAZ Forever

  • what is this song

  • im going to buy a 99 model soon. I WILL TAKE IT OFF ROADING FOR SURE!!!

  • @counterclockwise123 Thats what Landies are for

  • Proud owner of a blue Land Rover Discovery 1997

  • my parents have an 02 series 2 disco, and it runs great, never went off road wit it, (dont have the time) but as an everyday car, it is also awesome! :)

  • love my '96 disco

  • The best 4x4 ;)

  • QUE AUTOS MAS INPARABLES

  • Disco 1 is the best model, mine is perfect!

  • love this model of discovey ,one of best looking car ever made ..

  • This video made me fell like I'm part of history with my 1997 land rover discovery 1. Man I love that car my parents wanted me to trade it in for cash for clunkers think but I completely refused with some anger.

  • 'Some' anger? I would have been livid. Good job for saving it!

  • Good video. My dad recently picked up a Discovery Series 1 in good nick here in Qatar. Though it has it's shar eof problems, we both have these strange attraction to the vehicle. Might of got me started on something here. We'll be picking up a late facelifted version of the Series 2 for mum soon too. :)

  • just got new discovery 4

old 300tdi in on scrappage deal

new one is the dogs dangly bits,

  • This ad make me proud about my 1994 land rover discovery with the 300tdi diesel engine. The same engine used on the last land rover discovery's from Camel Trophy.

  • Still own the first 99 Discovery II with 140K miles on it. Just have to maintain it because parts are expensive.

  • basically a range rover chassis defender axles and different gear ratios make these vehicles a perfect blend of luxury and ruggedness just awesome and they are one the cheapest ways in to offroading what do thik is better offroad these or series 3 landies

  • obviously these as they are not leafers but they are not quite to the 90 standard for the wheelbase/overhang

  • I've owned a 1980,81,88 Mercedes 300GDs and 1 1998 Disco, I like the Mercedes g-class better, much better

  • I'm 17 and i own a land rover disco

i had to fix the brake lights and put a new turn signal in

i love it though so far!

but the brake pedals go all the way to the floor and the guy at the shop says they are fine?

    what would the problem be

  • mine does the same thing, i had to have a new master cylinder put in and that correct it to an extent, its still a little soft

  • ohh that would make sense

or bubbles in the brake line that would also do it

  • Your mechanic...get a new one

  • Haha very cocky

    actually as was said below

it must be a master cylinder

he isn't a land rover mechanic so thats about all im gonna get in northern michigan

  • no, pretty much any *luxury* vehicle or european car has expensive parts. BMWs, Land Rovers, Mercedes, Jaguar. They are all expensive to maintain, they all also depreciate greatly in value over years ironically. There are vendors for nearly everything Land rover in the US. Like Rovers North. Stuff is just really expensive though...

  • I used to have the first shape Range rover which i loved but the gears were always a pain to engage,( a bit like stirring soup) however my 1995 disco 300tdi is brilliant, just goes forever, 140 thousand miles and runs like a dream. Cheap parts, cheap to service and still looks the bollocks .

  • I don't know what other vehicles you have own, but any form of Land Rover does NOT have cheap parts.

  • holy shit man you are not kidding....I just spent $3300.00 on my 1998 Disco and still have to do some things...they bleed money

  • did you do the work yourself? thats the spirit of a land rover, and its hell of alot cheaper too. buy a workshop manual and it pays for itself in no time

  • I had a friend who builds race cars do the work for me in his spare time...my wife abandoned me with about $150k of debt, and though I could have purchased a newer car, I decided to keep it and fix it for several reasons. I have 3 German Shepherds and this is basically their car..if I bought something new it would get destroyed...secondly...it is stainless steel, so it won't rust...and third..it's a Land Rover Discovery..I won't get stuck when I have the dogs in the vehicle

  • fair enough. a 98 disco doesnt have any stainless steel on it though as far as i'm aware. just the dreaded landrover steel/aluminium combination

  • you can download a manual online called the rave cd (free)that has instructions on repairing every part of a rover.

  • The disco makes most other 4x4s look like they werent even trying. Not only can you go anywere, but you don't look like every other damn car doing it.

  • Amen to that!!! Nothing like them.

  • I have one 300tdi 1996 for me is a great car, the best of all, with him I go everywhere " The Best 4x4 by far"

  • I have a DISCO II TD5, its my adventure car, i also have a 1978 SERIES III 2,25 Petrol and a 1991 RANGE ROVER 3.9 V8, they are all very good cars.

  • What about the rings? should I pull the motor and replace the rings and bearings? also it's been setting with water in the cylinders, I'm told 7 months, but I'm not sure, I pulled the heads and It looks like longer. I was thinking about pulling the motor at the very least to check the cylinders for rust pits. what's a used motor cost? I have 109k on this one.

  • I have a 96 discovery and it acts like it has no compression. can some one help me, give me advice or point me to where I can get some?

  • blown head gasket, very common with discovery

  • turbo fucked? or a blockage somewhare - manifold/ exhaust

  • i own a 2004 black on black shes a beaut. I woudlnt go anywhere without my baby.

  • Es kommt mir wie gestern vor, als ich die letzten Modelle auf der Straße und im Gelände sah.. die Zeit vergeht.. wow!

  • my uncles just bought a landrover discovery there a pretty tuff 4wd he has got a defender to with a rover v8 innit both very good and he babies them

  • poli kalo!!!!

  • Men, I have got a discovery 1994, already with 260.000km, and i never had a problem with the car. They are just amazyng.

  • another brilliant piece of art by landrover

  • do the schedualed matnice, and dont do anything stupid too these, and you wont have any more problems then a ford.

  • From 1:26 to 1:28, I always loved the shot of the Discovery clawing through the mud. I saw it somewhere on tv once, and it always stuck with me.

  • I have this video on DVD.

  • what's the DVD call and where can I get it ? and yes they are amazing I have a 1997 with 150,000 Km's and so far so good.

  • The video was on a promotional DVD sent out to potentialfor the 2001? model year Discovery. The name of this video is "Fifteen years of Discovery". As for the availability of the DVD, i don't know but call/write/email Land Rover or visit a dealership and see if anyone can help you. I work for a Lexus dealer and find plenty of old product info laying around. I also emailed BMW for "The Hire" DVD...after they "ran out", and managed to get one in the mail with all FIVE of the first films.

  • Men, I have got a discovery 1993, already with 400.000km, and i never had a problem with the car. They are just amazyng.

  • Thank you,,,,,but I'm already getting the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light! Serious!

  • awesome adventures and ads

  • I Just bought a 2003 Discovery on Ebay....just because I needed a vehicle and I got it for a steal. I am just now seeing why people who love Land Rovers love them. It's like Jeeps, Corvettes, Porsches. Very unique, nothing like it, and I'm glad to be a member of the "club"

  • A club? How do I become a member? I own a discovery!

  • Based on what I've been reading, get a bigger bank account for the maintenance and service of your new four-wheeled "membership card."

  • Land Rovers are great, the only thing they need is better reliability. I also think that their new models are getting away from the real rovers of the past.

  • You're right about the past. I don't find the new ones anywhere near as appealing as the old ones.

  • im an american AND I love my 2001 disco II!!

  • i havent found one yet that can do all that and then pass an mot

  • From your point of view. You couldn't have been looking very hard. Oh,and one thing more, After so much abuse (unlike its rivals) at least it would get to the mot station!!

  • this is one of the hardened rovers of all, beautiful,to bad that rover was bought off by jaguar, the ones on the clip were the originals, now the new ones are jagged

  • you know the rovers under the ford group are actually coming out better than the ones made under BMW, BMW didn't finance the company as much as the Ford group has, the old BMW rovers with the bosch engines weren't very reliable (this is from owning three) the new jaguar engined rovers are seeing a huge boost in power, and not to mention technology

  • i don't know much about the gems engines if someone would be kind enough to give me a run through i'd appreciate it

  • ...bellissima...

  • Best landy i ever saw was one where they launched it at a treian station and it arrived pulling da train!!Genius!Rob

  • The Disco is neither fast nor is it the prettiest truck on the road, then again it wasn' t meant to show you what it's made of on-road, it's when you go off-road that this truck's abilities/prowess make themselves evident.

A big shout out to all fellow Disco and Rover owners out there

  • I actually like the look of the discovery, particularly the series 1. I'm deciding between that or importing a Land Rover 110 from the UK.

  • Now this is why Land Rovers are able to eclipse all the SUV competition out there today. They build their 4x4's to fit the purpose they are intended for.

  • I have two Land Cruisers and love them. However we also have a Land Rover Discovery II and it's really nice. Great off road and a real eye catcher on the street. Very easy to modify with lift kit and larger tires etc as well.

  • I simply love Land Rovers. I own a Defender 110, and I must say that this video makes me very proud to own one of these amazing, and very versatile trucks.

  • i have a discovery tdi and it doesnt sound like a real landrover all you can hear is the turbo whinning any ideas please?????

  • what year is your tdi and what plate is it on

  • i have a J reg discovery tdi and i think yours needs a new turbo

  • ok cheers mate

  • This makes me love my disco even more! Cool video, I love how it shows through the years. Land rover is truly an amazing company. Awesome video!

  • Fantastic video! I'm kind of glad this video was (or appears) to have been made before the Discovery 3. Wont catch me in a Disco 3 sorry :)

  • All I gotta say is...I am damn proud I own one of these beautiful machines.

  • suvs is better than sports car!!

  • Toyota is better.

  • the best 4x4 by far climb evey montian ford every steam land rovers are the best

  • this 4x4 is the best in the world

landrover is the best 4x4 company, now were there's alot of suvs that arent good in 4x4, this 4x4 can do anything the owner wants to do.

    is the best.

    i love landrovers

  • Right!!! Suvs are shit!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Defeneder and series are better

  • I love this car, when I see this video, i just started 2 have feelings, you know, this is the most capable car to go offroad with the comfortability of a SUV... I love this car, make a tribute to the Land Rover Discovery...The best 4x4 by far
