Ahhh...those carefree highschool days. Weekend outdoor summer parties, everything was new and fresh. You can only be young once, and what a gift it is. Great music!
This song reminds me of the agony of having a relationship end yet you're still kind of in that "in-between" stage of not having really accepted it. You still have the hope. You still expect the phone to ring. Still expect them to walk through the door. You wish it was just a bad dream & that the other will realize that they have made a mistake & come back. But yet all you get for hoping is just nothing but dead silence. Eventually you move on.........a little wary & a little more jaded.
My girlfriend back then was the one who put me on to Aldo Nova. This was one of those songs that served as heart breakers when we broke up. I love this group and the various songs they put out at the time about love and heartbreak.
I was sitting in an airport lately and Aldo was sitting there. Didn't recognize him right away but after I realized it was him we talked for awhile. What a great dude. I was a fan way back when and the dude can still belt it out. One of the awesome voices in rock and also one of the best people I have ever met.

anyone know if he ever did see the light live? it would be even more cool if there was a video for it! saw him once live for the blood on the bricks tour. my music tastes changed over the yrs. but this album is still and always will be in my all time top ten. great music and guitar work.
@loveitloud66 Remember being at a birthday party for my younger brother and had this blasting out of my speakers. I'll never forget I heard someone said 'that is some of the best music I have heard in a long time'. Wore his cassettes out.
I'd hate to hear this song after a break- up! Anyone remember when you broke up with Gf or Bf every radio station would be playing heart break music like some one called and told them LOL
@Marfmar1 I just found of video of him from a recent live kinda spoof thing...his guitar playing certainly sounds great. Look up, René Simard se déchaîne avec Aldo Nova - Le moineau PIT PIT version métal, here on youtube. You'll see what I'm talking about
ohhh the 80's high school... boyfriend.. love and arguments.. make up.. backseats of car, drinking and having fun, concerts, lying to mom about staying at "girlfriends house" when we were out all night just having fun.. the breakups waiting by the phone.. the break ups and not making that phone call to have him waiting by the phone... ohhh wouldnt change a thing after that in life but would give so much to go back to those times for just a short time.. this song was non stop on the record player
@veronica16841 Why would jon Bon Jovi ask them to? His album was blood on the brings with jbj...well unless you count Bon jovi's first album that aldo played on to get him more radio play...or maybe it was jon bon jovi doing an aldo tune on the Armageddon soundtrack...that still would have nothing to do with this album or tune
@wholelotofleavin You should double check with SONY for making such a stupid mistake. How can one song be mistitled and then say it's for copyright reasons?
I will Always love my "TREVA".....This song is the history of my life...Nothing but good times when I hear this tune....We dont have much to say today....But, there was a time when.......My heart still remebers the love I truly lost for good !!!.....Someday maybe she will remember a special moment in time....I wont hold my breathe !!!!Live the life you been given....
My high school boyfriend sang this/played this when we broke up 25 years ago... I balled then and I still cry every time I listen to it..... great group back in the 80s!
Kevin Lee Carlson Mar. 12, 1957 ~ Dec. 12, 2010 Kevin, a bay area resident, passed away after a battle with cancer. In the 80's he was a guitarist in the Aldo Nova Band.
Yeah - miss browsing through Montreal's Rock on Stock and Sam the Record Man (which don't exist anymore). I remember Aldo opening up for Blue Oyster Cult back in the 80s - what ever happened to Aldo Nova? Anybody?
I went in 76 to see Rick Derringer in Pitts. for the amazing price of $3.00 at Pitt university a most excellent time it was to be had ! He was 20 ft away playing just like it was on the radio it was KILLER and being tuned-in myself it was awesome to say the least. And to look back after all this time to those days ,yes this time does suck compared to then. Now it has just gone to the extreme to much !
@scarolinafan1234 - totally agree !! My most favourite 80's musician - time stands still when his tracks are heard - but under-rated musician in our current time line - mores the pity xxxx
I just had to hear this song a few more times. It reminds me of the Navajo rez cruising Canyon de Chelly listening to this album. My friend of 20 plus years still tells me, " remember cruising around in Chinle, AZ listening to this song." Of course, I do. Aldo Nova was one of my favorite and still is. WOW. I haven't been home for 10 yrs but I'll make it there soon.
I haven't heard this song in ages. Actually I did heard it a couple months ago in a bar. My cousin and I were hanging out and she played it on the jude box. I was amazed that they still had this song. It's still music to my ears. GREAT SONG.
Love the memories these 80's songs bring back. High school, cruising on the beach down in corpus, concerts with friends. those were the best days ever. Oh ,and Skateland.

remember your long lost love, your jordache jeans, your sergio valente's. your cougar boots, your pick in your back pocket? what happened? the advent of the concert t-shirt? feathered hair? oh, the 80's where a great era, no doubt
@blueboyjay: That's a statement I would expect from a child. When you compare that drivel to REAL music it really make you look illiterate!! So Sorry, not!!
yes the 80's had some great rock and pop. BUT HIP HOP gave birth to Techno, trance, electro, rap, house, and trip top. THATS 6 genres of music that are very beloved by the youth of today. my age (35) and younger. With every day that goes by this country becomes more liberal. Pro pot, pro choice, pro gay and hip hop shows that the youth of america are whats important and what life is all about. YAY for hip hop! word up baby! word up!
In reference to your first 2 sentences, Hip Hop did not give birth to all those genres. Electro was derived from Electro-Funk bands like Newcleus, Jonzun Crew, Zapp etc. Many oldschool rappers borrowed sounds from 70s electronic bands. Planet Rock by Soul Sonic Force or Planet Patrol or Fearless Four's Rockin' It, had all illegally sampled Kraftwerk's melodies. Anyhow, you left out Freestyle, Hip-House, Rave, and Drum&Bass. I'd have to say Electro and Techno contributed the...
... most towards today's music. Many early Electro-funk bandsused vocoders, talkboxes, and synthesized vocals for that robotic sound. Today they use Auto-tuning. Techno and Hardcore music sadly disappear with no impact. Songs like LIQUID CRYSTAL - INNER SENSE, Trip to the Moon by ACEN, Brainstorm by LFO, The House Crew - Keep The Fire Burning are fine examples of that forgotten electronic techno scene.
Anyhow, don't praise Rap so much. Although, Felix & Jarvis did a good job with Flamethrower.
Thank you for posting this im going to alot of the Aldo videos and thanking people for somewhat keeping aldo alive because My uncle is the rythem guitar and he has brain cancer and has a year to live...
this song was the song @ our HS DANCES!! Had lotsa play time. Never got tired of hearing or listening to it!! These were the songs back n the day & if I could go back to when this 1st came out I would!!! luv it!!
can't stand this guys voice, but....being a musician from the 80's myself, totally agree with most comments below, and the heartfelt emotions, feelings and memories that everyone felt listening to this. i DO remember this song. and it's just one of a "million' that stand for one of the best era's of music, period. yup. hip hop, MTV in the 90's, who catered to a lot of utter Crap, as well as "the Architect Himself" that deadbeat piece of shit, Kurt, Ruined it all. thanks.
takes me back to the girl i dated in the late 80's. played this song a million times after we broke up. if your wondering what her name was, it was linda rose. i'm sure she doesn't even know this song exsists.
Man, I forgot about this song! Saw him when he opened for Rainbow in 1983! Arena was only half-full, because MTV had moved on to promoting other bands. Aldo Nova was great, though! He played on Lita Ford's "Dancing on the Edge" album, keyboards I think...played on other people's albums, too. Very versatile musician, and sexy as hell!!
I miss the 70's and 80's when we had music like this. The choices of Journey, Beatles, Eagles, Billy Joel, Van Halen, Pat Benatar, Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Areo Smith, and a ton more would week you in the record stores for hours, now we don't have recored stores lol. The music today SUCKS Sooooooooo bad.
@Journey432 How true, lets not forget the Canadian bands like Loverboy, Triumph, April Wine, etc. There is only one band I've continued to listen to through the years and that's Rush.
Corrupt People have infiltrated the music business who could care a less about music, they just want money. So they find good looking kids and teach them how to sing (a little). Cindy Lauper said in one of her very few good songs " Money Changes Everything" and usually not for the better.
I would have loved to see this band back in the '80's. They just never toured much in the midwest that I ever noticed. They had a lot of minor hits that never got the air play they deserved. Like this one.
Major mistake;" You're My Love" should have been the video to launch success

Man, I forgot about this song! Saw him when he opened for Rainbow in 1983! Arena was only half-full, because MTV had moved on to promoting other bands. Aldo Nova was great, though! He played on Lita Ford's "Dancing on the Edge" album, keyboards I think...played on other people's albums, too. Very versatile musician, and sexy as hell!!

MTV screwed up the whole industry. His record company didn't help too much either.

This song is so damn beautiful, I can't stop listening to it!
Aldo Nova sure is one of the best songwriters of all time. Unfortunatley he is really underrated.

Same as "Fantasy" he wrote and played every single note except for the drums.

@Journey432 Thank god the beatles are gone, who btw was not an 80s band. N ya, I kind of miss browsing record stores too.

Corrupt People have infiltrated the music business who could care a less about music, they just want money. So they find good looking kids and teach them how to sing (a little). Cindy Lauper said in one of her very few good songs " Money Changes Everything" and usually not for the better.
Journey432 2 years ago
I would have loved to see this band back in the '80's. They just never toured much in the midwest that I ever noticed. They had a lot of minor hits that never got the air play they deserved. Like this one.
