People in general just dislike and fear bats because of the way they move, sound and fly at night in huge groups, you know; it just creeps them out. From what I hear vampire bats are tiny so I probably wouldn't freak out but I wouldn't want to risk being bitten by one. Most likely not. Vampire bats, even four at a time, will cause no long term problems. Worst case scenario, they have rabies, but that didn't seem to be the case here. Theres also a chance that the bites could become infected, but other then that, theres really nothing to worry about, they're a relatively minor Nuisance.

Of all the bat species, vampire bats are the most dangerous. Since bats in general are the main carriers of rabies in the world today, any bat bite has to be treated as though it is infectious. And as vampire bats are always biting livestock and other animals, they are much more likely to transmit rabies to domestic animals than other bats. A sick bat still has to eat.
