@Xandersama Kaitou Kid's activities started 18 years ago (approximatively), so they wouldn't suspect a teenager since they think it is the same person. And I'm not sure but I think the word Kaitou has a different meaning from Kaito, they are phonetically similar but perhaps the kanji spelling makes them really different... They're not that stupid (okay, maybe they are ^^) but they make logical hypothesis with the knowledge they have. ^-^

@Halloloprsalulut Well the "u" has it's own Hirigana, and each one has it's own seperate sound. So although Kaito and Kaitou might not sound different to us, in Japan, they're very sharp when it comes to that kind of difference. So really, it's pronounced "Ka-ee-toh" and "Ka-ee-toh-oo"

I just always wondered how both names were written in Kanji. I read somewhere that Kaitou Kid was also called "the cat burglar", and in French, it translates as "Kid l'Inssaisissable" (which I don't really like, but it's not like I have a choicce.^^), so I think the Kanji writing for Kaitou could have that kind of meaning
