  • A great artist and a wonderful person !!!

  • She's definitely a very positive, good-hearted person from what I know about her and in her insightful and humble posts in her blog. Only someone who really loves Art and has little vanity enough would enjoy so much singing after breaking a leg. I'm glad to see her wishing all the best to Villazón, another excellent person with a most gracious and sympathetic personality who needs a lot of support to go through this difficult time of his career and restablish it.

  • Argh, how I just hate my fate those days, I would have SO loved to see her performing her wheeling Rosina and her crutches Handel >.> I wish all the best for the future, and may she recover quickly!

  • Rosina?? Rosina?? even my cat has sung Rosina!

DiDonato was born to sing the Small Assoluta roles one of which (Maria Stuarda) she will be performing in next years... now that! is something to anticipate like nothing else ;) I only wish to her she finds the courage to continue with the Small Assoluta roles (Adalgisa, Imogene, the rossinian Elisabetta etc)

  • I would love to see her Adalgisa. But who would be an appropriate Norma? I can't think of anyone.

You know who we'd probably get landed with? Netrebko.

  • Oh, I really admire Netrebko, and I don't think she would make such a mistaken decision! DiDonato's Adalgisa could be interesting, but I don't figure her in a secondary role nowadays.

  • I don't think of Adalgisa as a secondary role.

  • I know it's an important and demanding role. What I mean is that since Norma is the absolute protagonist, Adalgisa is necessary a secondary role, isn't it?

  • I have an understanding of what you mean, but I don't think of Adalgisa as a secondary role.

  • @33blueberries I agree.

  • Did you cat sung Rosina on WHEELS?! Don't think so :)

  • your* >.>

  • no but she unforgetable in this role :p I have recorder her singing certain Ornaments that she herself wrote :))))))

  • I found a video from a recital where she's singing Cenerentola during a recital, and her ornamentations are truly amazing. One is particularly priceless. She's incredible.

  • damn... cenerentola brings me bad luck when I hear it but pls send it to me.

DiDonato's Ornaments are FANTASTIC and most of them are written by herself. She is a fantastic musician and in the years to come she will gain enormous Status :)

  • wow I didn't notice I wrote "recital" twice. Well, I'm sure you understand it was a recital, right? :)

  • then post it :p Ornaments make a huge difference in these roles

  • it's the one I showed you months ago >.>

  • ahhh thank you again then :p

  • I'm loving her soprano roles, but I loved her Rosina as well! And I think is very difficult to create and original and interesting Rosina nowdays, precisely because the huge amount of Rosinas we all have listened. And she did it!

  • I agree with you 100% but DiDonato has an incredibly talented voice She must devote into the "Centrale" Mini-Assoluta roles of Handel and Bel Canto not sing the roles everybody sing. She is born to sing Maria Stuarda, Seymour, Adalgisa etc etc

  • Although on crutches, Joyce took the audience by storm - her concert was outstanding! All the more it was so nice, warmhearted and freindly of her to think of Rolando and wishing him all the best.
