I imagine that as it took at least 40 days to get to maximum extent, there would be a burial in the general order of sea to land, with animals that can tolerate both water and land likely to be in the middle. Remember also that sometimes out of order fossils do occur, they are just explained away as geological reworking.

We quibble with that also. It's reasonably sound in a single tree, but matching up multiple samples can be extrememely problematic. Really good pattern matches can still turn out to be very wrong. It's also interesting that the oldest actually living trees (that have countable tree rings) don't date back any further than the flood, approx. 4700 years ago.

I'm arguing that the burial of most of the living carbon material (buried by the flood) threw C14 dating out of whack for thousands of years. It has to do with the disurbance of equilibrium between C12 to C14 that happens when you bury most of your biosphere underground. Anything you date will be coming up as too old until the equilibrim is restored.
But sure enough, the oldest living trees (that have tree rings, not clones that are inferred through out of equilibrium C14) are no older than the flood is supposed to be (roughly). The plant you linked to has to be carbon dated. You can't count it's tree rings back far enough since the individual plants die off too soon.

Do have have any clue how radiometric dating works? You can't just cut a chunk of something and toss it in a machine. Certain dating methods will only work with particular samples, like how U-Pb dating only works with zircon crystals.
The sample was a zircon crystal. And it contained the helium (from the alpha decay) that was leaking out (not as slowly as had been previously assumed).

I did a little more digging and found that they only share about 58% of the same genetic information. Notice that the supposed evolutionary order of fossils is also the order in which lifeforms progress from under the seafloor (bacteria) to the oceans (invertebrates and fish) to sea/land (amphibians) to the land reptiles mammals, birds etc. Given that, it would seem rather difficult to find too many out of order fossils, since the flood which gave rise to the fossil record agrees with the evolutionary order of fossils, agreeing with the observed order of fossils.

Well, it's perhaps not what you might think at first thought. I imagine that as it took at least 40 days to get to maximum extent, there would be a burial in the general order of sea to land, with animals that can tolerate both water and land likely to be in the middle. Remember also that sometimes out of order fossils do occur, they are just explained away as geological reworking.

Do have have any clue how radiometric dating works? You can't just cut a chunk of something and toss it in a machine. Certain dating methods will only work with particular samples, like how U-Pb dating only works with zircon crystals.

The fox article was good, but what bothered me is they kept saying "closest relative" rather than giving the actual number, and to see how close they actually are. I did a little more digging and found that they only share about 58% of the same genetic information. This was a little disheartening, and just by chance, I stumbled and found that DNA cannot last that long, even a tenth of that long, even under 0C temperatures. Its just a little confusing.
