Bought this the other day.

The 64bit alone makes this a revelation.

Looks better too, I wasnt expecting such an improvement top to bottom but it brilliant.

PS.... buy the Cubase Artist Plus Pack it's cheaper than artist and you get a controller with it and if you upgrade to the full cubase you still save about £100 english monies and you still have the controller!

ever since i bought cubase wichi wanted to use for creating electronic soul music i got very depressed ! you can hardly create any own sounds , when i install the 65 bit version my presets wont show up ,the only thing i like is the mixing . im convincing myself every time to still use cubase because it cost me 600 euro , but every time i use it im so not happy, ive used fl studio and reason wich allowed me to make such great music wich even amazed myself,im switching back to them

i know alot of guys who buy extra synths or plugins when they buy cubase just because cubase is very basic at sounddesign and yet cost 600 bucks ! then i know guys who just buy reason for 300 bucks and got heaps of amazing sounds wich they create theirself in reasons thor wich emulates various oldschool synths like moog etcetc i gues the choice is easy !

for 600 bucks you expect alot more from a software,,like cubase halion sonic is just so simple with what you can do to the sounds

After weeks of pain and frustration, I deleted Cubase and all the other crap that came with it permanently from my hard drive. I can now rest easy knowing that I'll never have to fuss with such a pain in the ass program, here's hoping, ever again. What a load of horse shit this software is. No wonder the developer of Hypersonic left Steinberg while he still had a reputation. This company sucks. It's products suck. You should not need a bachelors degree to make music. Absolutely ridiculous.

If you have a ridiculous amount of tracks and are serious about mixing down music ITB then Cubase is THE ULTIMATE!!!!. Cubase now has a 32bit floating point (Man, these guys have been ahead of the game for years!), meaning you can mix with large amounts of tracks and still have clear separation, and a clear stereo image without the need for a summing box etc. Protools, Logic are all gr8, but sound wise Cubase is KING!

@C0C0B3WAR3 i dont agree with you ,cuabse changed alot of things wich blows lots of producers off ! i think its now more for very tight sequences,the new fl editor is awefull ,they removed the grooves,plus their drumkits they givin with groove agent are not dope , the synths are pretty good but most people who do cubase on 64 bit cant acces midi files or midi presets from their plugins plus before you can chop a sample in cubase you have to do alot,the quantize is just annoying now

I think Cubase is moving away from what I would want, really liked using Cubase 5 when I was at college. It was actually like pro tools standard for audio recording/editing and definitely great for VST's and such but now I'm thinking I may turn to logic. And I don't know much but FL Studio seems a bit synth and loop oriented (single purpose) so if anyone could tell me anything about it's real audio rec/edit capabilities that'd be great :)

@UltraSoftwareReviews I use a few programs personally. FL for a lot. Reason works great with my midi controller. I guess i just use a lot of tools so I can't say ones better than the other.

@UltraSoftwareReviews thats so treu ,i now more artist that use fl studio or reason because these programs do stuff easier then cubase ,cubase might have a great soundset (synth wise) but lack drum editing and drumsounds plus their groove engin now is just a failure i use cubase solong and ever since 5 i had to refind my ways to work with cubase ,then when i told them that they blocked me,while other software i use have a great support and they really help you !!

FL is SHIT for kids! If you want get all power of grooves and chorder learn cubase, there lots interesting way to create professional stuff. any way if you dont like chorder judt use like in FL you can drawing, or in real time you may use the power function of Cubase VariAudio and record all your chords in step-by-step not in real time.

But I like wright chords myself and record it in real time or step by step... any way animation and loading huge of VST and finaly mastering, are better make in Cubase! just couse FL will die ))) that is why I dont use it! it is realy much easyer to use but if you want make some small track about 20-30 instruments including samples...

@allgrannierhandsup whats so kool about fl studio is that you can put your sound on any chord outthere and just play other chords (like it was really a single note)that way you get a great sounddesign and melodys that are so hard to recreate for other producers i always use my fl studio as plugin in cubase for that because the cubase chorder is dope for several beats but always sounds te same:) cubase and fl studio 10 both hooked up is amazing

@ButterflyColoursAV easy said. but really, some dudes have a good point, i own cubase 6 and the virtual mpc thingy is pretty basic plus the kits that come with it are pretty thin and weak :) i still use my battery 2 that does somuch more and battery 2 is so old allready . beatdesigner is dope .the effects are dope from cubase .

drumkits from halion are pretty dope but you cant edit them seperatly?plus in 64 bit mode the midi effect presets or plugin presets dont show up :(

the stereo enhancers are a joke

no wonder why propellerhead is so big for not much money you get a great studio with somuch sounds and effects /great sounding drums synths

the drummodule is very basic and annoying the drumkits that come with it are awefull!!! they wont let you download extra kits and halion is just a joke !!! the other vsti,s are so hard to use!! propellerhead reason/record cost 300 bucks and you get tons of great drumkits !!! the kong drumdesigner is just next level they let you download free sounds from various oldschool synths(awesome)the groove engine is great so are the grooves ..shure with cubase you can make bangers but on the hard way !

cubase has no grooves other programs have plenty all you have a is a basic swing (old) and a pattern sequencer like fl studio where you maybe can shift time when you have a second kick or sound so it sounds offbeat(very weak)

there support is awefull they wont solve the problem or make videos explaining things

they just bann you and yet have let you paid 600 dollars for a program

ones yuo use more plugins or even 1 with 16 channels and start using effects your pc will slow up and crackle

Hi peeps, can anyone help? I got C6 Windows 7 but found I'm having more stress on my CPU than normal. Anyone know why this is and how to fix it??. Is it something to do with the VST 2 plugins? or is it something to do with the 32bit plugins being used on 64bit system? I'm not technically minded so plain and simple replies guys!

I am very disappointed with cubase 6!

Halion SE sonic sounds like a Bontempi diamonica (halion one is much better ) of 1980 and worsened my cpu!!

No new innovation synth vst it important for what concerns the expander.

The colors used are very gay style and has lost much of that praticiyà of editng audio that was in the previous edition.

Positive ....... sounds better than 5.

I expect soon an update substantial.

The VST free trial .... burn more fuel for it

Cubase/Nuendo is kinda a rip off and has to much crap in it...I only see Reaper or Studio One in the future. I heard cubase 5 had a lot of bugs thus the numerous updates...I had SX3 then went to studio one, I dont believe I'll be going back at all. As of Now I am rollin with REAPER ONLY. because I like the forum, customer support, and it's simple homemade goodness :) I WILL SAY CUSBASE SOUNDS THE BEST "IMO"

So, whats the special thing about Cubase 6? Cubase 5 was amazing, it had a lot of new features and great plugins, but for the few new features its not reason enough for me to upgrade to Cubase 6. All he introduced at this demo was nothing special for me. Let's hope that Steinberg comes up with more at the release.
