  • the King,always was,always will be.

  • James Taylor

  • Ron Paul 2012

  • This is from the rehearsal before the broadcast. Also known as the alternate aloha.

  • He really loved his band...check out the look on his face when the drums kick in

  • I'M A BLUESMAN, I CAN SAY WITHOUT RESERVES THAT THIS IS THE BEST BLUES SONG EVER MADE...!!! NO ORCHESTRAL VERSION OF ANY TYPE OF BLUES , CAN COMPARE TO THIS...!!! THIS IS SIMPLY THE BEST BLUES SONG EVER MADE...!!!

  • Might be good to mention this is a cover of James Taylor's song released in 1970. Pretty funny lyrics, apparently James was satirizing the blues songs at that time. This is a short version of Taylor's song though. Fits Elvis's style...0:18...lol.

  • Elvis é Elvis!!!

    Maravilhoso!

  • He can roll all over me anytime.....LOVE THIS MAN!!!!!

  • Oh yeah

  • YAY ELVIS! LOVE HIM.

  • Elvis was to do the singer being which is great.

My parents, too, were to do the singer being which is favorite.

Especially, " the sad devil " listened by the opening.

Please, provide をご various in the music which is good for the old.

    Extremely thank you.

  • Awesome!!!

  • Thank you so much for the precious video!! "I love & I like it"

  • Very nice video.

  • JT's version is shitting all over this one right now. Elvis isn't all he is talked up to be.

  • I really, deeply and honestly can't understand how can be people out there who doesn't like this.... (the 6 of you how dislike, you're in my black list!!!!)

  • Thanks for the video. I like much, again thanks.

  • he sure does it good

  • Wow, still love this song. The KING at his best!

  • ..looks like there has been 6 jealous Mj fans here!..LOL!

  • @ELVISAPLOVER5

These people sure are very busy with Elvis ;-)

  • Still the King of Rock in the year 2011

  • These videos mix the two Hawaii concerts: the live via satellite one and the practice run the night before. This song is from the night before, not from the live transmission.

  • que instrumento no sono en las canciones de elvis presley maravilloso

  • Elvis I love you !!

    Fantastic !!

  • Awesome! And Soooooo Sexy!!! ....

  • I went to the last Elvis concert in Baton Rouge in May of 1977. He was overweight, but man could he ever sing. The only song he did not do was American Trilogy that night. By far the greatest entertainer and singer that let drugs get the best of him. Miss him and his singing. RIP Elvis.

  • THE KING!

  • Great Elvis for the entire World!

Thanks for posting such a great video!

  • This is not one of Elvis better songs. I still love him though. James Taylor did it much better. I guess that's because JT wrote it. But I sure miss the King. Saw Elvis in concert in Auburn AL in the 70's. Put on a great show!!!!

  • ELVIS IS THE real KING !!

  • @tataso hell yes!

  • Steamroller Blues es un clásico en todo el sentido de la palabra y con el acompañamiento de James Burton él no podía fallar !!! Exceptional my favorite Elvis ´s song.

  • Elvis forever !!

Thanks my friend "elvisontour95 " for sharing !

  • who is on keyboard ???

  • what year is this? I would give anything to have gone to one of his concerts! He is awsome!

  • @view2mom January 14, 1973 Hawaii

  • @theElvisZone isn't this the rehearsal concert January 12, 1973??

  • @aud10ph1le yes this clearly is the rehearsal.

  • @theElvisZone Actually,this is January 12,1973,the Aloha rehearsal show

  • @view2mom I saw him in concert at the Richfield Colosseum Cleveland Ohio in Feb of 1975 I believe, over weight or not he put on one hell of a show, unforgettable

  • @view2mom It is from 1973 - but "theElvisZone" is completely wrong about the date; this footage is from January 12 (although the audio could very well be from January 14th)

  • @JTHA80 No, you're correct this is from the rehearsal concert from Jan 12 (including the audio).

While great, I prefer the version from the televised concert on January 14.

  • @view2mom come on baby, 1973 watched by over 1 billion. The KING OF ROCK & ROLL. Saw him in Vegas in 69, Kissed by the KING, a moment I will never forget

  • @view2mom Acually this is the rehearsal concert Elvis did in Hawaii. Date: January 12th 1973. He also did this song in the actual broadcast two days later, on the 14th.

  • настоящий Король

  • The one and only Elvis Presley!

  • Very sexy version. James Taylor can't compete with that sort of sensuality.

  • Cute :) !! King :)

  • Elvis was sexy there.

  • wow wow is all I say loved this man he was one of a kind never get tired of hearing him sing!!!!!

  • Sorry, totally disagree with your correction of my use of the word "music". Elvis made "music with his voice", James Taylor wrote this "music" and these are two of the poets who summed up the meaning of the word "music": [Lord Byron] - "music is the universal language of mankind" and [John Keats] - "the speech of angels".

  • Boringly, perhaps,I have no negative comments or swearing to add :-)) Just will say, if Elvis sang it, it's tops IMO. His music never ceases to amaze me! Thanks for upload.

  • @Katietoo you mean his performances and interpretations, cause thats not his music, he didin't write it

  • The Song is Awesome !

Elvis Presley Performance is Fabulous !!!

    Lov`n ELVIS!!!!

  • elvis the best.

  • ELVIS RIP ON THIS MOTHER F***KER, HE IS AND WILL ALWAYS B the KING!!!!

  • Elvis the king forever.

  • i heard this song at graceland on sat. awesome an kissrev can kiss ass idiot

  • I hate the original this is far better

  • watch?v=E5_-VhdnNHM - The John Tyler version on YouTube/ (code left) is right up there with Elvis and James Taylor. Check it out.

  • @kissrev1 I can't compare apple with orange I like James version but Elvis's version very different

Elvis version more rock have more energy James version more relax and simple both version are great.

I don't understand what do you mean 'less Hawaii and vegas'

  • @theElvisZone I one time saw Chris Cornell (lead vocalist of Soundgarden) cover this song, it was so cool. Not as good as Elvis but still a killer.

  • @kissrev1 Elvis and Taylor both did fine with this item. Presley's version DOES feature James Burton, only one of the best rock & roll guitarists of all-time.

  • @MrSf66 Fair enough.... How does this vindicate Elvis himself from his lack of creativity, musical talent, and general self-serving mediocrity? BTW I am not disputing your veneration of a guitar player, James Burton, who is, if anything a footnote in R&R history, but if that is your argument,... not so strong.

  • @kissrev1 As a singer, Presley managed to encompass the entire spectrum of American music. Granted, his career choices entailed a fair share of mediocrity, but I would argue that THE SUN SESSIONS, more than a few of his singles, ELVIS IS BACK, the sitdown jam sessions of 1968, and FROM ELVIS IN MEMPHIS are all sterling examples of his musical talent and creativity. The Hawaii shows of 1973 were indeed the apex of his "Vegas" phase and were also impressive albeit overblown.

  • @MrSf66 Well said!

  • @kissrev1 James Taylor? Ok, he can write a song. I respect your opinion... But I have not heard one James Taylor song (his voice) that excites me. Not one! Live? I would be asking for my money back if I was forced to pay for a ticket... I often read comments like "James Taylor's version is also great". Too many people here are too afraid to state their real feelings. James Taylor is boring!!! I expect repercussions...

  • @aud10ph1le I should also note that Taylor played this song more aggressively in later years (late 70's onwards). He must have known the Elvis version was vastly superior...

  • @aud10ph1le Taylor's version was both a good acoustic blues and a wry parody of the whole bluesrock machismo thing. Elvis dispensed with those subtleties and rocked the house. Both good records!

  • @kissrev1 Yeah sure whatever,nobody cares

  • @kissrev1 was not a hack he done great songs at this stage in his life you moron

thats one of the sexiest songs ever sung by one of the most sexual people alive

its a great version now fuck off

  • @kissrev1 oh please, this is pure bar boogien blues babay and has so much soul to it you can't say there is a better version of this song man!

  • @kissrev1 you are obviously some one of very poor taste

  • It keeps trying to load on my Steamroller so sorry if it does the same to ur compurter i'm new at this do better next time.SHANNON

  • the greatest ever Elvis the king of kings

  • Wonderful !!!

Thanks my friend "elvisontour95 " for sharing !!

  • This is not a record of 14 January but on 12 January, it shows on the hair of Elvis, his forelock falls across his forehead, while January 14, it is better wearing, and his face is resplendent .

  • For this show, there were 2 concerts, a concert rehearsal January 12, 1973, which was filmed as a precaution in case there is a problem with the satellite and the concert on January 14, 1973, broadcast live Worldvision except the USA where he was released with a different layout and songs stored on site without an audience, added to the installation of landscape with films on screens.

  • Just did this Elvis song May 22, 2011. You kind of have to let all that you have rip through this style of song....if you cover it, don't hold "nothing' back.

    jtyler5 - YouTube channel

  • Elvis was one of the best white singers to deliver the blues the way he did !

  • One day MJ said to God: "I want to be the best". God flashed an image of Elvis and said: "Already been there. " "Already done that!"

  • 4 people got run over by a steamroller driven by Elvis.

  • Comment removed

  • @elvispresley11 Make that 5 people now that got run over by a steamroller driven by Elvis.

  • GENIUS Well done, thanks, joselito

  • Did Elvis do a Studio Version Of this?

  • Hell, this was THE ONE. There`s Elvis and then there`s everyone else. What a loss music suffered on august 16th 1977. Unsurpassed!

  • Yeah :D

  • LIKED...SHOWWWWW...☺/

  • .simplesmente espetacular.

  • This is from the Aloha rehearsal show. Good, but not like the official Aloha performance, which is sick good.

  • @TubeGunner - Sorry, but have to disagree. The brilliant rehearsal Steamroller Blues and Fever 'kick the ass' of the so-called 'live' or official versions. In the rehearsal versions, he is relaxed and playing them with passion. He was clearly nervous in the latter versions. I've seen both concerts over 100 times. The 'live' versions of Fever and Suspicious Minds were particularly bad (by Elvis standards). He was no longer at his performance peak (1968-70). Voice was always great, even in '77.

  • @aud10ph1le - Just look at how relaxed and loose he is. Brilliant!!

  • @aud10ph1le - Look at 2:17, Classic Elvis!!

  • @aud10ph1le - Go to 2:31. He knows he is in the zone!! Flawless performance!! Truly the one and only King...

  • @aud10ph1le I've seen/heard both a couple hundred times myself. Elvis is plenty relaxed in the official version of this - even kissing a girl at the start. In my book the band is in a better blues groove and tone, and after the guitar break Elvis' voice on the high notes is easily more controlled and smooth. In the "rehearsal" show, he's relaxed alright. He can't even remember the lyrics on a couple songs. This show comes off as it was - a rehearsal. He screws up not once in the official show.

  • It won't let me post -

So paste this in the search window to watch an early performance by JT

James Taylor - Steam Roller Blues (live acoustic)

  • É uma delícia ver Elvis cantando Steamroller Blues...é muito sensual...lindo demais....

  • Who the fuck are the four that didn't like????????

  • Elvis, the "HOTTEST" man who ever lived. LOL! When he crinkles up that nose and snarls it makes a girl go crazy. He knows it too and does it on purpose. What a tease. ♥

  • yeah..you blow my mind baby!!!..Roll all over me Elvis...PLEASE!! iF I CAN'T HAVE YOUR LOVE NOW BABY,THERE WON'T BE NOTHIN' LET BEHIND...LOVE YOU!..Elvis always Baby!! xoxo

  • wow Elvis Beautiful♥♥♥

  • This is what Blew My Mind,,, When El sent this to the top of charts, it took maybe 15-20 years when I found the writer was James Taylor. Go Figure and whats more it was not released on a mainLP but on James's Greatest Hits AND you gotta check that one out. Be sure to listen all the through. It surprised me.

  • @upperdarbybill Actually - the song was on Taylor's second album, "Sweet Baby James" and was written tongue in cheek as a joke about all the new "blues artists" coming out of the woodwork in the early 70's.

    I posted a video response....

  • Yea, that's it baby, Real nice. Real smooth As he so often could and DID cover major artist moderate hits and.. well you know.

  • Nobosy else in the whole world will ever be as great aas the King
