I do disagree slightly with one of the reasons for the lack of coverage for Bangladesh that was provided in the report. Bangladesh disaster "fatigue" is not a valid reason since none of the natural and human disasters there get covered much at all in the international media.

There are many other places and people that viewers could be tired of hearing about since they're on the news non-stop for years on end with no good conclusion (Israel, for example).

I've been wondering why something this important wasn't covered more promptly. I heard BBC radio here in the US the night before hurricane hit Bangladesh that THREE MILLION people were being evacuated from the coastal areas in a news brief. I thought that must be one of the biggest evacuations in recent memory.

But the next night, the BBC didn't even mention the storm or what was happening in Bangladesh! They were too busy bantering about unimportant crap.

Viva Chavez!!! Down with the king of Spain. Why did the media cover Katrina more than Bangladesh? Because the US owns most of the global media! Its not right but what do you expect. The coverage was bullshit anyway so the people of Bangladesh are better served by the REAL independent media not like AL-Jazerra which is bought and sold by the rich! VIVA CHAVEZ!!! Gov't's should stop enforcing their conflict of interest ideals upon reporters reporting current political and social events.

3rd world catastrafies are treated as 3rd world .....what a morally damn shame!!!
