@kaouthiavideo I would like to thank you for not slamming either Nikon or Cannon. I am so sick of people posting such arguments. I have been shooting Nikon for over 20 years, but am grown up enough to admit that Cannon also makes amazing products. Props to you! "Can't we all just get along??!"
I'm partial to Nikon, I'm actually buying a D300s soon, camera's like the 7D have more megapixels but more noise. That said 7D is still fast and light.
@Froeful Both are GREAT systems. I shoot with Canon now but started out with Nikon. Nikon has a far better Autofocus system than the Canon. Canon has better video performance than the Nikons. Nikon has better/cleane3r ISO noise in low light. At the end of the day though, its not about the sytem its about the photographer. Learn the zone system like your life depended on it and then learn composition etc and you will be able to create great images regardless of camera. Cheers
High Definition actually starts at 1080i. After that is 720p and then comes 1080p. Any of those could be considered HD resolution. 720p is considered true HD.
Ever since they started releasing entry level SLRs lots of wannabe carrying cheap slr and dont even know what aperture or shutter is, they shoot in auto mode with ISO1600, and pretend as if they know what they're doing. Even better, some of them buy higher end SLRs just to show off their gadget, they talk about fps, magnesium body bla bla bla and ended up making badly exposed and composed picture, forgetting the art of making a picture. Stick with snap-shot point-n-shoot will ya?
weak and poor comment. ive seen alot of people carrying the latest camera gear but does not even know what aperture is, let alone changing it. I am sure ur one of it.
No, I seen worse on flickr someone in my group said they are gonna get there 9 year old son a nikon d300s. But they said there kid can handle a dslr and takes great pictures. I wanna see this kids pictures.

stackingcallalista 1 year ago
@stackingcallalista You can buy the camera with a lens or the body only.
Personally, im going to buy a new lens for it if i have enough money, but its up to you. Hope this helped :)

Neither is "better" overall. Canon and Nikon both have their advantages and disadvantages.
I upgraded from the D200 to the D300s last month, love it. Nikon wanting to give me a free SB-900 flash if I bought one was a big reason. ;)

LOL even if Nikon were to mess up on their body design, I would still buy a Nikon. It's the image quality and performance that matters.

It's a Canon, what else do you need to know. If you want a good point and shoot by Canon. If you want a serious DSLR buy Nikon.

Amen to that

I've recently changed all my Nikon gear (two D700) to Canon because of the ability to shoot 1080p with the 5d mkii.
Nikon took almost a year to come with this cheap DX (crop factor) sensor camera that shoots jelly 720p video.
For some reason they haven't yet made either a D700s or D3Xs to compete with Canon's full frame 5dii.
That's why I'm very to have switched brands as I can now rest assured that Canon will always come first with newer and better technologies.

Why would you do that. Buy a video cam instead. Canon DSLR feel and sound like toys. It's beyond me why any serious photog would buy one.
