Change the filter everytime m8,worth the extra little hassle ,engines are funny things ,nevvah know what kinda crap might float around in the oil n once a filter is clogged up the oil just runs around unfiltered . Worth the xtra 5min of work just in case = )
@cosmicfurnal Yeah you can do that too. It all depends on what oil change interval you're at. For this case it was required to change the oil filter as well. So when i hit next oil change at 12,000kms. I dont have change the oil filter, it will be a more simpler job.

@HolyWontons Your absolutely right man. I changed the oil filter on my hornet every oil change and will do so on the R1.

what about starting it up, letting the oil run through then putting more oil back in?
