I don't believe this parable captures the true nature of Christ as mankind's mediator. It lacks very important scriptural realities regarding the docrtine of grace, mercy, and justice. I fear it has twisted the idea of grace, justice, and atonement. We must be careful with this.
When I first saw this video a couple of years ago, the Spirit of the Lord testified to me that Jesus is the Christ and that He is our Mediator. I'm a convert and till then I didn't quite understand why we needed Jesus Christ. But when I saw this video I understood. The message is brought very clear. Thank you for uploading LDS9999!
this was taken from a conference talk entitled "The Mediator" given by Boyd K. Packer in April 1977. you can find it in the May 1977 Ensign Magazine or on the LDS Church's website LDS . org
It is a great film--one of my favorites. As you may have noticed, I make no claim that it is mine or that I produced it. I think it's clear from the intro that it is an Church-produced movie. As it says at the beginning from the Church, "You may download this video for Church and personal, non-commercial use and share it with your friends." That's what I'm trying to do!
I allow comments so people can share their thoughts about the video--not how well it is produced (because I sure didn't produce it)--but rather about the message itself. This can be a great forum for people to discuss and share their beliefs if they so want to.
This was a staple of all of our convert baptisms in Tucson and El Paso. Of course, none of the baptisms were mine, except for one. Oh well, if you watch my videos when I give NFL analysis, you'll probably find out why I didn't look appealing. Oh well, I worked hard anyway!
None of the baptisms are "ours" ;) They belong to Christ. Also, remember Samuel Smith. First missionary and no baptism. He did though give a Book of Mormon to the father of Brigham Young, which lead to the conversion of our second modern day prophet.
this video really made me understand the divine importance of the Atonement. It really moves me.. to not procrastinate repentance.

Perhaps one of my favorite explanations on the Role of Jesus Christ. Clear and concise.

All about planting seeds.
