the teacher clearly states structure and relaxation not once did he say anthing about using force clearly those who are typing crap are external artists or people who have no idea about martial arts who cant look past there muscles and there fat egos until you let go of such nonse u will always find taiji a mystery when in truth it is not so complicated.Try a session with the teacher then comment until then ur words are like a man with a broken leg trying to run
I come from a Judo/ Ju Jitsu background. Last week I was lucky enough to experience fajin first hand from a master. I have to say it was a very odd experience. I couldn't move the teacher but he repeatedly threw me. Has to be felt to understand it i think
Nice to see authentic Yang style so well represented by a younger generation. If I ever get to that side of the globe, I'll be sure to look you guys up! Thanks!
if you think he s being controlled because he letting him then you obviously are nt ready, let go of the ego and go feel the truth of tai ji rather then write unecessary dribble
Why dosen't this guy get a pair of balls & simply decide to not LET this idiot control him like this. This is the typical bullshit these guys blag as being real Taijiquan. Someone mentioned using it in UFC, yea right! Do you see ANY of these idiots doing that? No, because it wont work. Do you see him pushing any of those other people around like that, no because it wont work. It will only work on his mate who has agreed to be controlled & jump around like a limp noodle.
@TNP007TNP I think the reason that taijiquan hasn't made an appearance in the UFC is because practitioners of taijiquan aren't trying to make a statement about which martial art is most effective, but are instead trying to conquer the enemy within. if you are looking for something more violent then search 'combat tai chi' on youtube. PS see this guys iron robe video
@TNP007TNP It works perfectly well. Westerners do not have a very high understanding, therefore they deemed it useless. There's a reason why taiji was created, because it works. At the highest level, Taiji can defeat any martial art. But if u think winning is very important, it is not martial art.
@TNP007TNP I agree completely. Ok, the bloke teaching may have a certain amount of force behind his movement but all that exaggerated jumping around after the fact is rubbish, even embarrassing. It pissed me off to watch this video. You are right too, they wont pull this shit on a non compliant opponent because it wont work if you are not in on the JOKE! Charlatans at best.
@LOSPIRIT1 - Its either he jumps back, or he falls over. This is the more realistic response. A lot of other demo guys run backwards.. which isnt realistic. This guy knows how to take the energy correctly, without running or falling. The jump releases connection to the ground + enables the guy to put his feet & mass under him by the time he lands.
@LOSPIRIT1 Where, exactly, do you see him "jumping around"? He's regaining his balance and avoiding a fall. Have someone push you off balance and see whether you "jump around". Yeah? Oh, you must be a "charlatan", too. Also, you'll notice that a lot of this is because he continues to push and pull the other guy as soon as, or just before, he regains his footing. Hence, it looks like he's flopping around, kind of how it would look if he were standing on a surfboard in choppy water.
great vid, thanks for posting!

This is an excellent video of push hands principles and structure in taiji. I would love to see a vid of this master doing any portion of the form.

If I think about it - it makes me sad that many people alive today will not get the opportunity to learn this amazing skill.

@TNP007TNP
This is a demo of course a real fight would be a bit messy but shows you how taiji works
His partner is not being a limp noodle he is applying force and Sifu Nick is kindly showing us how taiji principles can rebound force
In freepush and boxing the results are similar.
